  • I think the Reyvateils who sang this thought of it as "sending everyone to the world of dreams" (which I personally believe to be Faeryland). As they saw it if people lived within their happy dreams it would be eternal happiness for everyone. After losing Nenesha, I think Infel became kind of depressed and wanted an escape from a world with pain and this was her way of doing it. However, she didn't take into account everyone else's feelings because she was depressed.

  • @SariaSchala Faeryland is great (I have been there) but there are things you can only have in this world...like falling in love, which she wouldn't get since she never got the chance to fall in love. She just didn't get any of the benefits of this world like a lot of unlucky people.

  • Really reminds me of the Trans-Siberian orchestra, and I always though that nobody came CLOSE to their magic when it comes to music, but this is a great exception. This is what made me like Ar Tonelico in the first place.

  • I love the Ar Tonelico series so much. The only game that makes me cry and remember the most.

  • what language is it??

  • @FLAMEDON hymnos

  • It's not too often that I hear a song from a video game where my heart aches with such emotion as this song gives me. Such beautiful voices, such a wonderful moment. I'm glad i recently picked this game up because i would have been missing out on something so beauitiful. Also has anyone tried learning Hymnos? I recently have been playing around with it and its tough. Would be awesome to hold learn it though.

  • @GuardianAvatar7 i'm sure you'll be able to pick it up ;}

  • One great thing about this song is that it surprised the hell out of me to hear this song, after hearing the first two Sublimation and expecting this one to be similar.

This song was a definate right time right place event. I still tear up when listening to this song.

  • this my most fav song in AT2

i wonder if there is a song like this in AT3

    (to bad it's on PS3)

  • hmm...closest would be EXEC_Z, METHOD_HYMMELI, or...maybe XaaCi. not sure. none of them really have the same feeling of "love" to them that this song does. i'd have to look at some of the others again before i could accurately tell you.

  • @Xenmaru00 Actually the closest would be EXEC_REBIRTHIA=PROTOCOL.

  • @missdeona A more closer match would be the final part of Ec Tisia ~Tarifa~, since they both play in the same situation, and aren't very disimilar in sound either.

  • @Xenmaru00

sorry for replying a 1 year old comment lol. Hymmnos in Ar Tonelico 3 about love, maybe exec_flip_fusionsphere?

  • Even though I haven't tried playing Ar Tonelico 2 (I've finished Ar Tonelico I, though) I'm beginning to like this

  • You should try picking up if you can. The second game was better than the first one in almost every way. However if you are going to get a North American version you should be wary of that there was a couple of game crashing bugs that can ruin your fun; these bugs have been fixed in the PAL version however so if you can play the PAL version I'd recommend getting it.

  • ar tonelico 2 is great, try it out.

  • Can you really call them evil after everything they have went through, and making a song whose true purpose it's giving an everlasting peace to everyone? (even if the method for doing so isn't the best one)

  • The road to hell is paved with good intentions. One need not be "bad" in order to be evil. The greatest evils in this world were created by idealists. Even Hitler had a dream of Utopia and killed millions to get his vision realized.

  • Can you really call that an Utopia, when it was only made under the pretense that only one race of the humans was superior, and the other were all inferior crap that had to be exterminated?

That's not a concept of Utopia for me.

  • It was a utopia to him. Hence the point of people trying to stop something that wasn't really a utopia because it was the ideal of two people and not the world.

  • Though when we are talking about Hibernation/Sublimation, it seems that actually everyone in Metafalss was considering the effects of these songs as the true utopia. As it was said in the game: "These songs wouldn't activate if the people didn't accept them". Not to forget that their effects are letting everyone live in the comforts of their own minds, though in turn they become the most lonesome existences ever.

  • I don't truly believe that Infel and Nenesha were really evil, just misguided. What they both did was based on their painful experiences while living. In some ways, living in an eternal dream may be easier than truly living. However, they failed to consider that while being alive you feel real pain, also, you can only feel true joy being alive as well.

  • @OldSkoolAngel Okay, let's take a fantastical example: what if someone is possessed by evil and FORCED to do bad things? Can we really call the victim "evil"?

  • Also noted, that I didn't notice before is that those Maidens are pretty evil, with this song of there. Such cruel underlying intentions. Almost reminds me of a dangerous religious fevor....

  • It's hard to decide which final battle song was better, this one or Harmonius. It's quite a close match. I'm going to place my bet on this one, since I like the tempo and tone more. This was a really good song to close the game with.

  • Wow, this is amazing. to finally understand the true meaning of the intentions of these previous Holy Maidens. Pure amazement!

  • Man thanks a lot, how long I dreamed for the translation, tears overflowing

  • A song that represents dreams for a new world full of love and peace.

I loved it, God bless the singers, and this game!

  • ...You realize the context in which this song is delivered, right? :P

  • but the second chorus was so weird, it's like they want to kill everyone or something like that just to bring peace

  • well, (LOTS OF SPOILERS), from what I could understand, Infel ,Nenesha's and their reyvateil sisters died after a failed attempt at singing Metaffalica and they became so sad that they wanted to take the souls out of the human bodies so conflicts would never happen, and every soul would live in peace and harmony. taking souls out of the bodies is "to kill" but all they wanted was a better world.

  • to be honest, Infel wanted to do to the world what she did, which was "ascend" beyond the physical shell. Infel's body was gone, but she still "lived". She wanted to make a world where everyone could "live" like that, only having to interact with one another if they desired it. To her, and in some sense of truth, it wasnt "death" so much as "eternal dreaming".

  • good point.

  • @Xenmaru00

And as nice as the theory was, her grand vision was tarnished from the beginning, by the fact that to achieve it, she would have to kill... erase really, every Infel Pira Dependent person. Not only that, but she wasn't giving any the choice, she said it would only get those that wanted it, but it seemed to target the weakest first. Old people, and children... and even if that is the wrong view, none were given the conscious decision. So as nice as it was... it screams wrong.

  • @zebrin wait, how would she have to erase the IPD's? your second point kinda makes sense. but then again, the elderly would have lived long lives, and wouldnt want to fight being brought into a world of "peace" and kids...the kids COULD fight, if they wanted to. they had a subconcious decision, that's the thing. but you also have to remember the Sublimation was her SECOND idea, one made because people showed they didnt want flaws in their world.

  • @Xenmaru00 Ehn, actually, looking back it was the OTHER people that were going to erase Infel Pira's databases with Haibanation. Oops. Man, this game had a few too many people trying to end the world.

But you were right. Nothing to do with IPD's aside from what she wanted to do with everyone.

  • @zebrin & Xenmaru

And you two should know what Sublimation effect is supposed to truly be, according to the words of the game's creator: it severs the bonds that tie together the bodies and souls, to then fuse all of the souls into a massive cluster and then turn them into another Will of Ar Ciel (more appropriately, makes them another part of the Will of Ar Ciel).

However, the effects of Sublimation can't reach the area where the Third Tower is located for being outside of Ar tonelico's range.

  • One of my top favorites, reading the translations told me how much sadder this song is, great ending boss battle music.

  • Absolutely my favorite hymnos-based song from Ar tonelico II! Being able to understand the meaning further makes the intentions much more meaningful. I'm sure Infel and Nenesha meant very much to demonstrate love for the world despite being forsaken in many occasions in their lifetimes. Thank you for putting this together and uploading it! I appreciate it!

  • Now I really am glad. The translation I had asked for is finally here. Thak you, not just from me but the one I sing this with, too.

  • Thank you for this. The song already pulled heartstrings, and now I get character development out of it.

  • I knew this final song had a big meaning, thank you so much for uploading this ^_^
