  • MUSIC IS MAGIC

  • No Woman No Cry... bob marley

  • Vilken Bra låt

  • paul's 'bang bang maxwell's silver hammer' was prophetic.

'bang bang' refers to the firing of a gun.

'maxwell' ('max'), is a cryptic reference to mark chapman. mccartney identified him using a name with the same 2 first letters ('m' & 'a'), and whose 3rd letter ('x') is the universal 'Mark' (as in, Mark chapman) made by people who cannot write (as mccartney could not write chapman's full name).

and the charter arms .38 special 'revolver' (a title suggested by paul) was indeed silver.

  • Lennon was amazing

  • This specific songs is without a doubt remarkable!

  • ...em casa com o baby...afazeres domésticos...experiência singular...

  • Why this is the most beautiful thing I have heard all my life.

  • @gangliums Its so sad that the reviews for Double Fantasy were originally so terrible and it wasnt until his death that everyone realized what we all lost. John's last songs were his most honest and brilliant because they dealt with life and nothing else. In his words'"Life is what happens when you're making other plans" And indeed..how missed you are John especially in this era of great falsehoods.

  • @mrfrogbutt1 You're right, it's exactly this kind of direct honesty in his late work that I find profoundly peaceful, or profoundly moving or profoundly... something else :D. I guess what I mean is that while all of the beatle's work was great and some of it, really great I think I can connect with john's work in the most real way. To the point that it is haunting, and kind of irreplaceable. Y'know?

  • yep, same band Earl Slick, RIck Marotta, Tony Levin, George Small. The tunes were recorded during the Double Fantasy Sessions.

  • did tony levin played bass in this track? there´s another great version with him.

  • this is just the begging of what an 80s era lennon was going to sound like

  • luv!

  • great video to John's music . thumbs up for great editing

    believe in love Trevor sizzle

  • nice foot

  • lol this song inspired me to travel the world :D

  • "The cat's have all been blessed" wonderful line, John loved his cat's.Happy Birthday Johnny xxxxxxx still miss you.

  • "....after all is said & done, you can't go pleasing everyone..."

    "...SO JUST SCREW IT!"

  • Put on my space suit, I got to look my best - favourite line

  • um....I don't get the scence with the ass O.o

  • @TheBeatlesfan28 and thats why its art

  • @TheBeatlesfan28 I was just watching this video on vh1 classic and I was like umm well that was random. whos ass was that anyways? lol

  • So beautiful :)

  • It is probably the only one good music in the album Milk and Honey. I love John Lennon and the Beatles but this algum is nothing comparing with his others works

  • 1:51 haha xD

  • Massive Lennon fan, from Liverpool, was brought up on Briardale Road off Penny Lane. Love u John

  • this song sounds like U2...

John Lennon always a step ahead

I wonder what he would composing if he were here today.

  • oh, come on john, lets stay here and get high and find something on tv.

  • This is my favourite John Lennon song - very, very uplifting, with an amazing instrumental section. "Boogie"

  • God, I just love Lennon

  • such a good song! it reminds me a little bit U2

    lennon always a step ahead

  • He always was a energy discharge, an explotion of ideas for shows to the world how to do somethigs big for itself.. LENNON FOR EVER!!

  • he was a grate composer but dont like the image that him want to show about a husband that knead bread

  • you did it!

  • One of the best Lennon songs at least is one of my favorites!

  • After all is said and done, you can't go pleasing everyone. So screw it.

  • alot of people would describe john as "hard or mean" but i never really saw it abd we can see in this video that he really was a sweet guy. he even said himself that he put on a tough guy act and wore a mean face but he really wouldnt hurt anyone he was too soft. i love you john lennon

  • i love this. end of story. lennon was the best.

  • I love this guy. Even if he was mean to certain people, he was just coping. Not everyone had a nurturing family as they were growing up, I know that much. He was still a sweet guy.

  • The wrong 2 Beatles died first.

  • @98bigbutt Too true, the best of the group john and george went too soon. They still had much more to give to the world R.I.P

  • @Avdallabill,Thank you for agreeing with me because when I wrote this comment, people were very angry with me.

  • @Avdallabill This is where I disagree with you. I love all of them. They were the Beatles. None of them should've died first.

  • @SanguineLupis Yes your right I probably shouldn't have put "Too true" in the beginning of my comment as a response to the other guy, They were all fantastic and it's such a tragedy we lost both John and George, let's just hope Ringo and Paul stay around for many more prosperous years.

  • @Avdallabill,Don't apologize because you're right and that person who disagreed with you obviously don't know the Beatles music very well.

  • @98bigbutt Shut up you twat

  • @MaccaBeatles,Know more about the Beatles before you state your opinion.

  • After taking so much time on experimenting with drugs and music i thought there would be more interesting song themes than a bored guy going to town because he's annoyed of his free time...

For me it is obviously not his best song...

    Just an opinion..

  • @TheArtOfKilling it's not about interesting it's about honest. The music's the thing the lyrics just an excuse, and it's not a good sign if it's vice versa. But after all is said and done...

  • @TheArtOfKilling First of all, I really like this song. Secondly, songs like Free As a Bird, Real Love, Now and Then and Memories, well if you ask me, they are pure gem! Beautiful lyrics and fantastic melody.. But that son of a bitch Chapman didn't give him the chance to release these songs the way he wanted to! Moreover, I think Lennon had many other amazing songs in the well too or they were like in the pipeline but we'll never get to listen the finished version of 'em cause he's no more!

  • I don't hate Yoko, but theres too many scenes of her in this Video. Show more of John!

  • john lennon forever

  • Does anybody know who played bass on this track? It sure sounds like something Paul would play, especially the part behind the line: " I'm stepping out"

  • @SD9Driver Tony Levin. He was/is a NYC-based session bass player. He played bass on all of the Double Fantasy/Milk And Honey tracks. John had tried to get Willie Weeks, a famous bass player of the period, but Weeks was already booked - for George Harrison's "Somewhere In England" sessions! John later said that it all worked out because he thought Levin was great.

  • one of his best songs! I remember when I bought the working class hero cd this was prob my fave song on it!!! so enjoyable!

  • The best, only john to do. the world never be the same.

  • If I would live in 1980, 08-12-1980 would be the worst day of my life

  • you can tell he was steppin' out into the 80s sound.

  • IM STEPPIN OUT!!!!!!

  • "if it don't feel right, you dont have to do it ...just leave a message on the phone and tell them to screw it."

...some good words to live by.

    Happy B Day John !!

  • Happy birthday John x

  • Love this song, thanks for posting it.

  • Happy Birthday John!

  • The best vid for this song. Thanks for posting!

  • john rocks....

  • Attention Every One: The one dislike was picked by me and i did it by Accident ladies and Gentlemen. Please overlook it as 121-0. THANK YOU.

  • Great video! It's virtually impossible to not love this song!

  • masterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr of mastersssssssssss

  • whoever made this video did an awesome job i think. and of course lennon's song is just awesome too, thats just automatic.

  • @JohnLennon100 His genius was in being John Lennon. I feel sorry for those who lived and died before this era of Lennon.

  • i guess he just tried make the song happier

  • Very cool video!! I wish Lennon had more finished these songs ...his genius was in the production and arrangements...and lyrics ...and the melody ...etc.

  • great

  • brilliant verse,poor chorus

  • i wonder why this vid (and the original one for starting over wasn't in the legend dvd)

  • me encanto esta genial ,:)

  • he was the best beatle

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • John your music is my only friend at my important moments in my life. With you i can be my self dont need to hide my feelings, thank you is the less i can say.

  • @kaisariani You are a legend very well said indeed

  • how great is this song. jesus, we need more lennons in our lives. we need folks to step up and step out not destroy music as an artform.

  • no disrespect to lennon but at 0:07 he looks kinda like an adult harry potter it made me laugh

  • @hazuken Have to agree.....close resemblance. I love John Lennon's music and am a huge Beatles fan & it's a shame that a lot of fans r so obsessed and 'fanatical' about The Beatles they lose their sense of humour.....The Fabs were the first at self deprecating humour and I'm sure even John himself would've laughed at that image being compared to HP.

  • @hazuken you should see his son Sean! Haha. Someone actually posted a video on here entitled 'Sean Lennon (= Harry Potter)?' or something that I saw a while back. But, yes, there is definitely a resemblance! ;)

  • what a great video you have made man!

    greets from faraway Argentina

  • great song

  • I never knew that he made a studio version of ''Real Life''

  • george paul and ringo did. they played over his "demo" i guess it was.

  • Yeah, tell them to screw it John, you can`t go pleasing every one, I hope you`re in a better place now. MAKE LOVE NO WAR

  • RIP John, 29 years ago today

  • nice!

  • Why is Yoko reading the Sun? The Sun is the worst newspaper on earth.

  • @nicck

Because she is the worst person on earth?

  • Well, I don't think that way about her, she's just a person. It just so happens most of Britain reads that pile of shit too.

  • This song sends an important message to us all. If you don't like your career, job or situation .... "leave a message on the phone and tell em' to SCREW IT".

Important words that we can all learn from. It's almost like a message from John Lennon on how to lead our lives. Remember what John Lennon said and lived by "After all is said and done - you can't go pleasing everyone so screww uu uhhh uuhhhhh .... I'm-steppin-out ! .... I'm steppin' ouuhh uu ouut !"

  • my favorite song and beatle

  • The only 'famous' person in the whole world that i miss having around.

  • I totally agree with that except I feel the same way about Freddie Mercury too.

  • are you gay?mate,??????

  • no sir. Nor do I have an Asian Wife. You can add jerry garcia to that list as well. haras9 said "the only famous person". I agreed but added more persons.

  • Sir why are you upset did I it a nerve, sorry to upset you mate,by the way JOHN LENNON is my favourite singer song writer of all time,R.I.P JOHN

  • Upset? What gave you the impression I was upset? I simply explained what I was talking about in my prior comment that you commented on. I'm not sleeping with you or anyone you know so why would anything you say upset me. I've never met you and likely never will.......

  • gil

  • @haras9 tu tienes toda la razon el mundo entero lo extraña jhon vive y vivra por siempre en su musica

  • @haras9 what about George?

  • @spidermanb101 Good point-i respect George too-but John is my favourite musician ever and the most charismatic man of the last fifty years.

  • @haras9 yah, i miss him so much. Sadly im just 17 so i never really was alive when he was in his prime but his music has affected me from beyond the grave.

  • @haras9 lennon's the best, but Jim morrison is the most chrismataic frontman of all time.

  • @haras9 same with the exception of george harrison kurt kobain jimi hendrix freddie mercury bob marley keith moon john entwissle john bohnam syd barret jerry garcia and jim morrison

  • and freddie mercury

  • "After all is said and done, you can't go pleasin' everyone....so screw it."

John knew exactly what to say.

  • @JustAndrew79 my favorite line in the whole song

  • @JustAndrew79 yes he did.

  • Then do you hate all the music that John would have never written if yoko hadn't inspired him?

  • gracias por subir este tema.

    desde argentina,buenos aires,saludos

  • :) john lennon, the best...... (Y)

  • why John why?

  • That boy from the video is his son Sean?

  • yep

  • to illuminate ignoramuses like limunan this is off of milk and honey

  • Just finished reading "the lives of john lennon" by Albert Goldman, 700 pgs but WELL worth it....this is a great tune!

  • i also just got done reading "the lives of john lennon"... wow, what an amazing read!

  • One time while waiting in Central park, next to the Dakota......Yoko waved at me ,from her window. I knew we both missed John ...In our own way

  • where did most of the home-like video clips come from? they're amazing o_O like the clip with Sean and Yoko having dinner... and John squatting on the floor?

  • i miss your music john and george love and peace to you both.

  • This song is really great. It's got a great sound to it. You can tell John was really happy to be recording music again.

I love him with all my heart.

  • why this song not on 1980 album?

  • Because John wanted to work on it further i.e. overdubs, polishing the lyrics, etc. Would've made a better addition than "Cleanup Time".

  • If I were to sing this song, I'd change the lyrics with, "Went to the kitchen, and ate some cereal".

  • Great, crazy beggining! This was originally an early version of "real love" wich was titled "real life" at the time.

  • sweet thanks

  • this video makes me happy.

  • i love this video!

  • Great song!!!Brilliant clip!!!!!I loved it))

    Wish John was here today....

    oh....

  • i wish there was footage of the recording session even though it probably does not exist.

  • I thought there was an actual video of the recording session, but I guess there wasn't.

    This isn't on DVD.

  • great song and great video, congratulations

  • its tokin about men she loves you ye ye ye

i wanna hold your hand but she don wanna pepol to you cant buyme love oh julia ok?

  • This is the true John Lennon, I actually like his later stuf better then the early stuff like imagine, but all his music rocks. I think he felt more at peace with things in his later years. Peace and Love everyone! R.I.P. John!

  • I'm new to discovering most of his music and I like his later songs better too. Makes me feel good. I guess he felt good too. Im at the time in my life where I now think its cool to start a family!
