  • Your thoughts need to be shouted!! Do you trust Barak's Health care policy? Stop by my you tube channel to discover just why your opinons are valued !

  • I like how people that disapprove of Obama's healthcare plan don't refer to people in their comments. We watch movies like John Q where people go to the extreme to just provide for their families and people say universal healthcare is bad. I guess it is bad if all you see is money and not people.

  • I feel for Kristin and Adam, because I am going through the EXACT same issue in California because my wife has Crohn's disease.

The high risk pool in CA is MRMIP, and it's a little better than the MN plan, but it still isn't affordable coverage.

In order to have and actually use health insurance for myself and my wife I would have to budget over $900 a month (we are in our early 20's), which is over 40% of my income.

Our lives are also on hold until this changes.

    I can't take it.

  • Anyone who calls Obama a socialist or a communist is ignorant. I had a conversation with someone tonight who said Obama was a communist and when I asked him who the father of socialism was he didn't even know the answer. If you are going to make a claim, please, know what you are talking about before you step on the band wagon. Then he try to say that he doesn't like the health reform because his dad wont get heroine in pill form for his cronic pain. How sad is health care becoming to drugies?

  • medicine development all comes from the private sector. you're an idiot for supporting a government-run monstrosity.

  • Wow this sucks. Sucks to be you, americans.

  • We need the public option. I hope President Obama will make it happen. The insurance companies will screw us without it.

The Republicans don't care about the poor. They only care about the rich.

And to you blue dog democrats, you are traitors. Get back to your democratic roots.

  • This is one in 100,000 stories.... Yes there needs to be changes for people that actually follow healthy habits and listen to doctors. but i'm sorry but the other 99,999 do not follow the healthcare plan provided by the doctor, and will only lead to worse of a circumstance costing us the tax payers that actually pay more money. There needs to be a regulation to restrict money to those who worsen their own symptoms. proud of you though kristen for doing all you can. i'd help out of own pocket.

  • Obama know so much about health care, those awful pediatricians that are trying to take tonsils out for money. Funny, pediatiricians don't even take tonsils out, a surgeon does that and the ped. wouldn't even see any money, he would make more by treating the kid for a cold at his office. That comment by Obama showed me that he knows nothing about health care, how can I trust him when he doesn't even know what he's talking about. Out health care needs reform, but not what Obama recommends.

  • My best friend is covered by 2 plans - hers & her husbands. She spent a month in the ICU & still owes over $100,000! She almost DIED & now she has to deal with collection agencies & the stress of struggling to pay her mortgage because she got sick! It can happen to anyone & frankly I hope it happens to the people on here fighting against a public option. People like that only "see the light" when it effects them -they're fine & everyone else can go "eat cake." WE the People can do better!

  • The PAY OR DIE health care system has to go! There are some things more important than Bill McGuire's 1.6 Billion Dollar Bonus. Single Payer is the way but a strong public option is a good start to get these health insurance leeches off our backs once and for all.

  • I find it disturbing how many people are against health care reform when they haven't read the bill. Millions are without insurance and something has to be done. People complain about "socialized" medicine when in fact you are already participating in socialized medicine. A very inefficient socialized program. How is that? Since over 60% of people who file bankruptcy is due to medical bills, we all end up paying for it anyway. Think of your fellow man and support health care reform.

  • Watch the Obama Deception just search it.

  • Health services in free trade society can be inclusive based regional infrastructures for majority americans.Yo say 10,000 days x 300,000,000+ americans can contribute $120 per capita share in new health services to build new clinics per region to value add current infrastructures.$90 trillion in new 10,000 health plan keep fees competetive in free market shares...oops.Hehehe just a thought.

  • Have you ever stopped to consider that you don't know what freedom is? All legitimate rights have one thing in common: they are rights to action, not to rewards from other people. The American rights impose no obligations on other people, merely the negative obligation to leave you alone. The system guarantees you the chance to work for what you want not to be given it without effort by somebody else.

  • Yes in short I'm against the school system and federal highways, but lets stay on topic.

You had health care. Go to an ER, they're not going to turn you away. You might have "health care" when obama gets done, but try to access it. When you are waiting two months for an MRI let me know.

Less people might have health care in the US, but the quality is higher. Why do Canadians come here for surgery? Have you ever been to a VA hospital, ask any vet. they are HORRIBLE--what you want for everyone.

  • Its funny how you say two months. Two years ago my best friend waited eight months! and he had very good coverage. " Less people might have health care in the US, but the quality is higher" so you are ok with people running on the streets with uncured and preventable deseases, and as a Veteran speak for yourself no problems.

  • If it is proper that a Central Authority guarantee health care, why not the more immediate essentials for life, food and shelter; why not clothing?

The underlying premise is a form of Communism, where the Government assumes the ultimate role for taking care of everyone. This is the absolute antithesis of the concept of American Freedom. It is part and parcel of a utilitarian life view that underpinned the great Socialized Societies, which we defeated in World War II and in the Cold War.

  • you are right.

  • Actually, America isn't a pure capitalist society. We have a mix of capitalism(individual ownership) and socialism(government services beyond military/police protection). And I, like most Americans, believe that the mix of capitalism with reasonable socialism, is better than the sum of their parts.

  • You're exactly right. But I disagree that this is the way people want it. Because of unconstitutional programs which were never intended to be put in place. This is the gradual erosion of our rights, and the perversion of our constitution. Eventually, it will go over likeva fart in church.

  • I forgot to mention the state and nat'l park systems--instituted by Republicans, if I'm not mistaken. We are not "free" if insurance companies and not physicians make decisions about medical treatment. We are not "free" if we can't get treatment for a "prior" condition.

As for food, well, the gov. subsidizes corn, ergo corn products are in everything and are fed to livestock so that we can eat them. It's already happening, and an obesity epidemic has resulted. Gov should heal the mess.

  • Show me a social structure--family, team, club, town, county, state--that doesn't need basic contracts and structures. We are social creatures, and saying that is not a vote for communism.

I'm assuming you are against the "communist" structures of national road and highway systems; postal system; school system. The public health ins. option is just that: an option among private healthcare options. I recently went without healthcare for three years b/c too expensive. That's "freedom"?!

  • for instance I went to private school but will send my kids to public school like most of my friends did.

conservatives always want to privatize things they invest a lot in defunding. that on its own doesn't sound too economical to me. Somethings in society should not have profit as the motive.

  • Yes, we all have to make choices and reform does NOT have to include forcing people to take health insurance or a public option that would drive the private sector out of business and turn our system into Canada's. This is not a good thing. Affordable health insurance for all? Yes. Affordable health insurance for all with every bell and whistle to fund every single illness? NO

BTW, maybe a new system will include better record keeping so BO can tell us where his your birth certificate his.

  • Where's the birth certificate Barry???

  • Great video. Check out The Five Dollar Revolution, it's a great way to fund health care without raising taxes

  • Wow... lmao. Silliness. Don't pay taxes, just a pay a hard fee instead. I swear, it's not like paying taxes at all.

  • Single payer option is a must

  • MEDICARE FOR EVERYONE NOW!!!

  • access to health care should be a basic human right.

  • So we have to pay for her health care since she chose to leave a job where she was covered? She did not have to take that fellowship if she could not afford to. Her right to pursue her dream shoud not obigate others to fund it.

  • I was Sprayed for 7 years in West Tenn with Malathion and I am very sick .I do not qualify for any kind of State care only death as told to me by 2 States Dept of Human Services >I am not with child of illegal !

  • "Organizing for America has collected hundreds of thousands of personal health care stories. The grassroots effort is building support in communities across the country"

NEXT PROJECT, COLLECT A MILLION STORIES of people's bankcrupcy due to health care bills!

Next, TEN thousands stories of people died without health insurance.

  • I am canadian and I feel sorry for americans with no access to healthcare. Healthcare is not even an issue here. I don't even think about it. I hopr th U.S. adopts a universal healthcare system so you guys can stop worrying.

  • Thanks buddy, but I don't think anything that actually benefits the common people is going to happen. They're just going to force us to buy into the crappy private system so they can screw all of us over. These are wealthy powerful people that have the congress ear where the common people don't.

  • You Say You Want a Revolution?

Fight Tyranny and the New World Order!

  • i still like cheese!

  • Wait, so because her application was rejected this couple can't afford to have kids now? That's fucked up. How can that happen? This is something that not her fault and that's under control and probably will be for several decades. That's not fucking fair.

  • Hey , ObuM M er ! Listen up Chap !!! Time has come to exterminate P I S S L A M ! So , you are either with us or against us !!! Think carefully before making your Choice. I'm not kidding this time around. If you fail to do make the right decision, you will be a Traitor to your own Children. I've also some Educational Material for you: Study these Carefully: TXHalabi AhmadsQuran3 Then get back to us, so we can discuss the Results of your Conclusions. We the UuMmAaHH of the KuUffAAR
  • Why is it that Democrats took socialized medicine and single payer off the table? The best medical systems in the world are either one of those. Democrats have the votes to push socialized medicine or single payer through Congress. They didn't need to capitulate to the Republicans by taking those off the table before the debate even started.

This public plan is a joke. Republicans and conservative Democrats are watering it down to be completely ineffective at containing costs.

  • I understand all the arguing about how it can be done, but what about those of us who just want to be able to go to a doctor? I haven't been able to see a physician in almost four years, since I had to quite my insurance due its cost, and with a pre-existing like Kristen, can't get any now, either.

I just want to be able to see a doctor again.

  • Obama's plan is better than single payer. If you work and you're healthy you get private insurance. If you work but you're not healthy or have a pre-existing condition then you get public insurance. If you're lazy and don't do anything you get no insurance. That's how I understand it. How is single payer better than that? It cuts out the Eugenics, or if you prefer, the unnatural selection aspect of the current healthcare system in America.

  • Obama is not for Single-Payer therefore he has no right to call this health care reform not the change I voted for not my president Ralph Nader was right etc.

  • Dont deny it! Most americans want single payer!!!

  • and you'd rather live in a country where middle age hardworking moms and dads get cancer perhaps after getting laid off, lose their insurance, can't pay for treatment indefinately and go bankrupt. that is sick and immoral to treat your fellow americans like that, to let them suffer on their own when the govt, could help them just like it does thru police, fire dept and military. shame on you

  • I'd rather live in a country where 1/6 of the people get crappy or no healthcare than one where 6/6 of the people get crappy healthcare, plus have to pay for illegal immigrants, people who are too lazy to work, alcoholics, and drug addicts.

  • I agree. I think Americans contribut a lot to their country but they never get much back. Decent h/care is the least an American should expect.

  • Kristen the other thing you can do is after you finish your fellowship in Minnesota move to Norway. The weather is kinda the same but after five years you automatically become a Norway citizen. You'll have all the benefits of being a Norwegian like excellent healthcare and education and other great benefits that the US can only dream of . In Norway they take care of you from cradle to grave.

  • Jeg liker Norge!

  • Jeg ønsker jeg levde i Norge.

  • Good luck Kristen and Adam hopefully the president will see this video and not listen to the heathcare lobby. I donated my $25.00 to his noble cause and I'm hoping millions of more people will do the same, to counteract the lobbying from the healthcare industry.

  • I think before we can have healthcare reform we first need to reform congress. Do away with the lobbying and the special interests and then we can get something done. Also make it so that any congressman that leaves public office can't automatically get a job with a Fortune 500 company for at least ten years after he leaves office. That would end the quid pro quo formula they all seem to get at the end.

  • Single Payer NOW !!!!!!

Health care should not be for the rich or tied to a job .

    Where is America's heart?

If you have insurance when you get sick or tested the insurance company should have to treat this condition for life even if you drop this policy.

Come on Obama, Please stand up and fight, you have the people behind you just not the over payed lobbyists.

If companies have money to pay lobbyists shouldn't they pay more taxes? How about a lobbyist tax to pay for healthcare?

  • U.S. swine flu vaccinations could begin in October with children among the first in line — at their local schools — the Obama administration said Thursday...

If all goes well, the federal government will buy vaccine from manufacturers and share it for free among the states...

    Oh, I see - it's free, that's nice.

  • and that's what universal healthcare is about :)

  • Illegal immigrants, drug dealers, higher taxes, longer wait times. The cost of healthcare will go up if more people use the system for stupid stuff. Supply and demand. If a doctor has 75 patients to treat instead of 50 he will charge each of them more and that cost will be passed onto the government and then onto your paycheck or onto the cost to be insured. The only thing protecting your wealth at that point is the deterence that results from longer wait times.

  • My last comment seems to have poor context. I sound like a certain someone who ran for vice-president in the last 50 years who had a very poor foundation for understanding the context of issues. There has to be a deterence for stupid stuff. Raising one persons insurance rates who sees the doctor responsibly in order to treat someone who abuses the system is wrong. That is the problem that exists with free healthcare. There should be an upfront cost to any treatment, however little it may be.

  • don't let 50 million of your fellow Americans suffer. lets make sure the sick get the treatment they need, its the right thing to do

  • When people don't have to work to get healthcare, there will be many many people who will stop working altogether. Because all of a sudden the person that works 2 full time jobs is now getting the same quality healthcare as the person who sits on their ass all day watching TV.

I don't wanna live in a country like that.

  • And btw, guess what quality the healthcare will be that the rich and poor alike are subject to - the healthcare that currently is for the poor, if not worse.

  • What about all the other shit they'll have to pay? i.e. mortgage or rent, electricity, water, sewer, gas, phone, internet, cable, etc. Those are good incentives to keep working.

  • Unemployment is enough to cover that for some people. Food stamps, etc. The govt gives out lots of money for people who are disabled.

And btw, if you're an alcoholic or drug abuser, that's counted as a disability, so you're livelyhood is paid for by taxpayers - woot!

  • gotcha.

"if you're an alcoholic or drug abuser, that's counted as a disability, so you're livelyhood is paid for by taxpayers"

    Seriously?

  • Sadly enough, yes.

  • You-knee-verse-all He-all-th Kare

UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE SUCCESS FOR THE AMERICAN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM!!!

  • You're retarded. Go into the history books and tell me how many countries have succeeded ultimately with socialized anything.

  • I didn't see a problem with England's health care...

    France... Canada... Must I continue?

And you don't know me btw so why call me retarded? :D

  • You don't see a probem? I know Canada's health care system is abhorrent. I saw a news report of this lady who had to wait 5 years for a surgery, but her doctor died while she was waiting, so then she had to wait another 2 years to get the surgery from another doctor.

You have to wait ridiculous amounts of time for anything. Plus keep in mind, here in America, YOU would be paying for the illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes to get free healthcare. And there's a lot of them.

  • Dude, how do you know the news is telling the truth? most of the time they try to get you into a topic to keep you on one side of the fight.

And plus, the whole idea behind government run health care is the ones less fortunate are the ones who are sick, so why not be selfish and pay the tax to keep them alive?

And yeah I would not care if I paid a bit out of my paycheck to keep universal health care working in America, if it benefits everyone including me, regardless of my health conditions.

  • It does not benefit everyone though.

It is a severe downgrade in quality for the people who currently choose to pay out of pocket for insurance/doctor's appointments/hospital fees/medicine. That's the majority.

And I do mind paying for illegal immigrants to get free healthcare. Look, there is already good reason for Mexicans to come over here. If we start giving them free health care service it'll just increase the problem.

If YOU want to pay to help others, great, there are charities.

  • charities are not enough for the millions without healthcare. the healthcare problem is too drastic for the free market to handle alone. its time for the govt. to do what it has done with police and fire depts. quite wisely. subsidize healthcare, just like it subsidzies the military to protect us, it should subsidize medicine to protect us from illness. this is common sense. 50 million americans suffering from lack of coverage is a crime against humanity and should be stopped now

  • Look, it's unfortunate that there are some out there who can't afford healthcare. But there are also people out there who take advantage of taxpayers' money by obtaining free healthcare when they are fully capable of paying for their own.

The government screws up everything it touches, look what it did with the market and wall street in the past year.

The free market is managing healthcare fine, those who pay, get. Those who pay more, get more.

And Wal-mart is selling 4-dollar prescriptions.

  • Again, police, fire dept. and military, all govt. subsidized. You saying the govt. has screwed those up too? Spare me the neo Jeffersonian paranoia about a govt. that is 100% evil. Our economic woes are the result of dishonest brokers and lenders who try to trick hard working people with promises of home ownership (and yes some people on the other side spending more than they can afford). But the govt. is the only thing that can handle this crisis that affects 50 million Americans.

  • There are just over 300 million people in America.

Why should 50 million people, of whom I suspect the majority are just too cheap/lazy to work to get money to spend on healthcare, get free healthcare at the very high cost of quality for all 300 million.

I personally know a teenager who has to work two jobs to pay rent for his mom, who doesn't work so collects unemployment and food stamps. She's not disabled or unable to work in any way, she's just lazy and gets everything she needs for free.

  • why? because its the right thing to do! to help 50 million fellow Americans, not all of which are lazy and cheap as you describe. many are victims of bad luck and circumstance. and i guess the govt. isn't so bad when it funds the military and police and fire dept huh? and the FDA and water treatment huh? these are all good things. you obviously don't care for the health of your fellow Americans, otherwise you'd want healthcare for everyone, a very humane policy.

  • No I think the 250 million people who are willing to work and pay for their own health care DESERVE health care and better quality than those that don't.

  • stop watching faux news and use your brain a little bit, ilegal inmigrants have to pay all health care services on their own, and cant get health insurance because you need to be a US citizen

  • Ahh, wrong. If you go to the emergency room they will treat you, proof of citizenship or not. So they just go there for every little cough and shudder, not only crowding it up for people with serious needs, but also at the cost of taxpayers.

  • it is unconstitutional not to treat someone on the emergency room, and even then there are people that die waiting for treatment in the hospitals.

and people go to the hospitals early so that they wont have to go when its too late.

how would you like to go to a hospital and not get treated because you are poor, or dont have enough money, or just because u look brown skin.

  • No, you don't get it. They go when they KNOW they don't have anything urgently wrong with them. Just because it's free.

  • there is no point in continuing this

kid if you dont know shit, dont say shit

    hate wont get u anywhere

    and neither would ignorance

  • *holds up sound reflector*

  • please look @ the three principals of reform. you get 2 keep your insurance and no "aliens" as you call them get it. they are however treated @ emergency rooms @ a much higher costs. president obama's border policy is actually strict... and they really aren't coming because there is no work!!! thank God the last 8 years are over. we must move on 2 brighter and more sustainable days!!!

  • dude, there really is not enough charities for 6.6 or so billion people, but there is government that can help them by taxing people slightly higher, and you know what not all of us mexicans are illegal I was born in this country and I'm a human.

  • I'm talking about America, as that's what's about to be socialized.

    There are 300M people here

Supposedly 50M don't have healthcare currently

    That means 250M do.

Now it's unfortunate that some people are unable to work to pay for it, but I am sure that makes up the minority of the 50M.

The rest are either too cheap or lazy.

    I don't think all 300M should

    1. be forced to receive MUCH lower quality healthcare when they'd be willing to pay for better

    2. have to pay so others can avoid work.

  • DUDE THE QUALITY OF THE HEALTH CARE IS NOT BAD DO NOT WATCH AMERICAN NEWS!

and go talk to someone in the countries with universal health care, more than one, I have lots of friends from those countries, and I've talked to them, they seem to be pleased with free healthcare

    -.-!

  • Yeah I also know people in canada, they say it sucks compared to capitalist systems' healthcare.

BTW it's not free, you just pay for it indirectly instead of directly.

  • I live in England, we pay indirectly through taxes but our health service is free at the point of delivery. Which basically means that you don't have to worry about Health Insurance if you are sick, you just get the treatment you need. It's not perfect but it at we are not being fleeced by H./C companies when we have terminal diseases like cancer. The H/C companies are just that-companies and they only care about profit.

  • It's just there a lot of problems and little benefit to socialized healthcare that I don't wanna see come to America.

    -Increased motivation for illegal immigration

-Less incentive for lazy individuals to not work and let taxpayers earn their livelihood

-Much less quality of all medical services

-The complete lack of choice compared to what is available in a capitalist society.

  • You should want to see socialised h.c in America for poor American it's literally a lifeline. It is morally reprehensible that the poor and those who have lost their jobs have negotiate with their h/c in order to live if the contract a nasty disease. We have quality healthcare and we have a choice. Obama said if you like your h/c then you have a choice you can keep your doctor and your plan the public option is just that AN OPTION.

  • He also said if we passed the stimulus the unemployment rate wouldn't exceed 8%, well it's not at 10%.

He also said we'd be out of Iraq within the first six months. It's been 6 months, we're still in Iraq, and he's sending 50K more troops to Afghanistan.

Let's just see if we'll still have an option...

I know socialized anything sounds real good for poor people, but look at what it does to socialist/communist countries, it makes everybody poor. Everybody lives in poor conditions.

  • We already have seen the fruits of Mr Obama's foreign policy which is admirable since six months ago Amercia was one of the most detested country's in the world. He has been in office since January an economy as bad as the one he inherited cannot be fixed 6 months. You are pulling out of Iraq but more slowly than anticipated since Obama has had a word with the people in charge of the army and it is not possible to move out before 2010. Afghanistan is an ongoing problem and must be addressed

  • 8% is an ideal for obama and he is working hard to acheive that. So it's at 10% so he's nearing his target 2% out is not bad at least it's not at 20%! The public option is too precious to let go of and Obama will deliver on all his promises. Even if he doesn't he is the Angel Gabriel compared with George Bush. Instead of complaining you should appreciate that you have a decent guy as president.

  • No he's not "nearing his target" when he promised it wouldn't go beyond 8%, it was currently at 8%. Now it's at 10% which means he's just failing at his promise.

Obama is no better than Bush, but far worse. The amount of money he spent on the war in 8 years pales in comparison to what Obama has spent in 6 months.

And yeah all my other mentioned failed promises are still true.

  • I could live with that. I live in Ohio with the one of the best hospitals and I don't see a lot of Canadians flocking down here. Hay Canadians do you want your healthcare or would you like to come to the USA and die while bankrupting your family? choices made by CEO's are never good.

  • "illegal immigrants" means Mexicans, come down to Texas some time. You'll see how it is.

  • I think they are also called Earthlings. No human is illegal just because of where they were born. We have many Mexicans here in Ohio. Oh we also have people of all descents Asians, Blacks ect. America is a melting pot of the World. American Indians had it a lot worst then some Mexicans moving to Texas.

  • Oh how nice "We are all citizens of the world" happy happy.

But there are laws, countries, and boundaries between countries. You have to become a citizen, permanent resident, or something if you want to become an american, but millions of mexicans just climb over the fence and just run here. That's what I mind.

  • How about we just give Texas back to Mexico. Laws that limit freedom are bad. Boundaries that keep people from traveling freely are bad. All Mexicans want is a better life for them selves and there families. They need us and we need them. Deal with it or go live in the woods.

Happy Happy is always better then whaa whaa.

  • You're ignoring the negative impact Mexicans have on Texas. Mexico is crap in terms of economics, government, and general society. If Texas were to "join" them they would just take on those things. Nobody would allow that to happen.

  • TEXAS NEVER BELONGED to MEXICANS ! Are you NEd and the First Reader ? It BELONGS to the OSAGE the APACHE& COMMANCHE ! Are you that STUPID or WHAT ? Take Back what COCKROACHES and PARASITES ???

  • I'm ok with giving it all back to the Indians and returning to Europe where health care is free and people are much happier, live longer and pay about much in taxes as we do but the people get free services.

Mexicans are humans..... Just like... well like the rest of us.

  • Wow, you really think that "socialized" medicine will be worse than "golden" medicine.

Well how many things have we "socialized" in America?

Librarys, Public Schools, Fire Departments, Postage (mailing stuff), are they all bad?

if you live in california of course our public schools are bad because we are underfunded so don't bring up that issue.

  • Public schools sure as hell are - everywhere. I go to a private school and every now and then we get students transferred from public schools, they're soooo stupid! Like several grades lower than the rest of us.

And I know socialized healthcare will be horrible.

  • are you silverspoon? that's the message I'm getting

  • I don't know what you mean...

I'm just a concerned American who supports capitalism.

  • so that means you support the corruption of marketing? that makes no sense to me whatsoever

that's like hating your country cause of it's politics

  • Don't twist my words - I support capitalism.

  • yet capitalism is the whole reason why greed exists at the white house :|

  • Wow are you saying socialist/communist governments aren't greedy? That's ludicrous.

Communist governments control all the money, so they give themselves as much as they want.

Capitalism makes governments weak compared to the power of the people, that's what makes this country great. That's why countries like America, Japan, and Australia have thriving economies and NKorea, Russia, and China (like 50 years in the past) had horrible economies - capitalism works and communism sucks.

  • LOL DUDE ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

TECHNICALLY! France considers themselves Socialist, what's wrong with them? :)

  • Also what if we had to pay a toll on every street maybe past every house or at least every town. That would also be free market.

  • A lot of problems can be solved by taxing people. You could feed and cloth the poor, build houses for the poor, provide free healthcare for the poor, give the poor some spare change to spend on drugs that keep them poor.

  • you know not all the drugs sold to the "poor" keep them poor, regardless of what anyone says this is a stupid argument, so why not give universal health care a fair trial in america?

    HMO's would become angry :)

  • I was refering to narcotics and not perscription medications.

  • drugs is such a questionable word regardless it can go both ways, my bad

  • How sad that had she just not done the screening, she would have gotten the coverage she needed to be healthy, and start a family.

In her case, being medically irresponsible, and uninterested in her health would have been better. There's something wrong with that.

  • she being rejected would never happen in Canada

  • helth care reform will happen this year******* i luv it

  • Why does this woman not have "access"... why does she not pay out of pocket? It's cheaper to pay out of pocket for routine care than to pay insurance premiums.

Once again these folks are not talking about insurance, they are talking about charity.

And of course this comes down again to the absurity of employer provided health insurance. As usual this absurd system has its roots in government..... from WWII wage controls.

  • Insurance companies are going to have a blast once genetic testing becomes as cheap as a paper. They'll be able to deny people of their claims because they have a percent likelihood of certain ailments imprinted in our bodies' code.

We need health reform as soon as possible. No one should have to worry about dying or forever being bed ridden because they can't afford to live off of menial coverage.

Anyone who touts the "big gov is bad" mantra is clearly missing the point. Think practically.

  • My grandparents had a successful business a home and even a condo.. Grandma got cancer. They had insurance. It did not pay enough. Grandma died. They lost the business, the condo and the house. Now at age 87 grandpa works to jobs just to pay rent. If it happened to them it could happen to anyone. It does in fact happen to a lot of people. This must change!

  • The USA has the ... "BEST SPECIALISTS" ... but our Health Care System stinks and is ranked as the Low 37th on a World Scale !! It's like saying "THE USA WON THE MOST GOLD MEDALS IN THE OLYMPICS ... SO THE ENTIRE AMERICAN POPULATION IS MADE OF TOP ATHLETES !!

When in reality we have an overweight & sick ...(cancer~heart diseases~diabetic)... population, compared to other nations. Don't buy into the Right-Wing propaganda. See my profile for ways in which you can contact your representatives.

  • I think that's the biggest flaw in the current health care system: the people who need care the most (those with "pre-existing condition") virtually can't find health care. The current Health Care system is designed to make money by taking care of the healthy, which makes no sense to me.

  • I'm sure Obama has a lot of it under control... he can't take care of EVERYTHING

  • OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice :D

  • you have to go on a barack obama video thats talking about health problems and you're worried about being first. wow
