  • I learned that you have to change your entire mindset when it comes to healthy eating because this way you have more results. With a new mindset you wont buy unhealthy things. P.S. If it has a "warning label" aka nutrition facts dont eat it!!

    Fresh friuts and vegetables and do not eat after 8!!

  • i just turned 16 and today i started the grapefruit diet ... i have celiacs disease so if i go to someones house and they offer me coookies i cant say yes anyways, so it kind of fits my lifestyle SOMEWHAT. but i dont want my parents to know .....

    so at dinner i had to say: oh i dont feel like potatoes and no i dont want any rice

    it is hard already. but i stuck to it all day long. i know that sounds awful how hard it was but it was , i have no idea if il make it for another 2weeks or so :s

  • @michellelebelle you really shouldn't do a crash diet for more than a week anyway. it's better to just eat healthy food than to eat way to little, or only 1 kind of food.

  • Love this video... Growing up my parents would have us go to bed at 7pm and their reason for that was when you sleep early the food last longer...lol because on the weekends when we were able to stay up longer because we had no school and we would eat up the house causing my parents to grocery shop more frequently then they had budget for and by doing that they were able to maintain the food supply and it works so I do the same to my kids...lol Sleep for me really does get my mind off hunger.

  • such great tips! im definitely gonna try that putting it into individual portions cuz i know it gets hard to stop when the whole bag of whatever you're eating is open right in front of you... and so true losing weight is not easy at all especially with all your friend offering to buy you food LoL cause since i started this challenge i havent really eaten out as much and now all of a sudden everybody and their dog wants to buy me lunch haha... but its gonna be worth it not to give up :D

  • Girl you are so right. You really have to push yourself. We have to make healthy choices. I cheat every now and then like on my Anniversary of 12 marriage, me and my husband split a piece of lime pie. (LOL)

  • The whole reward thing is crap and just will set people up for failure. One should reward them self with something non-food related. Go get a manicure, a new pair of earrings, new shoes etc etc.

  • The point you have about rewarding yourself is so true! I always say to myself "just one", but that's never the case. However, if I just stay away from the unheathy food alltogether than I'm fine.

  • dont reward yourself with food. reward youself with pedicure manicure or an outfit. dont reward yourself with FOOD.

  • Hey, Great video Q!! thx for the tips I needed that.... also, have you tried prevention 3-2-1????? I seem to shed pounds faster with that workout!! You should check it out if you haven't!

  • @glamsongbird25 Yep, I almost have tried everything lol. I didn't really like Preventions older videos but I have used their "2 week Turnaround" (Cardio segment only) video which I might do for the last 3 weeks on this new plan. Definitely give Preventions a fair recommendation but starting off I like to go slow then advance as I go. Thank you for the suggestion :)

  • I like to run my neighbor hood track at night like round 9:00, i usually run/jog 3miles Is it alright if Im not as active through the day.. Do you think my calories will still be burning off?

  • @TIGG3R77 It depends on what time you're calling it a night, what time do you go to sleep?I would say if you're exercising at 9pm, then eating again 2-3 hours later (something heavy/dinner) that may not be a best way to go. Your body will still burn calories after your done exercising too but not as much if your just sleeping. Your going to burn more calories, undeniable if you exercise and are up walking around the house, sitting up straight in a chair, then laying down and sleeping.

  • @TIGG3R77 So if you are going to go straight to bed without eating a huge meal after your exercising you might be okay. I have spoke to people who know fitness training methods and they recommend to exercise early in the morning over any other time. The claim it makes you more committed and boosts your metabolism because you stay active throughout the day. Ideally you have to do what works for you, I rather exercise at night than not at all. Give 100% every time regardless of the time. Good Luck

  • @gerazlobita Please look at my other video I have done recently, before the Summer Slim-down 2010, to see the actual dvd covers. I work out entirely at home using dvd's and right now I am using Leslie Sansome's "Walk and Sleek" (in a red box). You can find it on CollageVideo(.)com and preview it there as well. But that is what I am using for the first 3 weeks of my Summer Slim-down :)

  • i think people can try substituting there favourite fast food. try to make it less fattening and more healthy.

  • @inumelostar I would say if you want some fried chicken go to Target and get their chicken in the bag (made by Market Pantry) and eat the serving size. Although its processed food, still high in calories/fat, it's not even close to KFC and Popeyes. It takes a minute to cook in the oven but its worth is because at least you know how much calories are in it and you can keep track more efficiently. Same thing with hamburger you can have turkey burger, dog, & bacon you really can make it work!!
