Imagine being in the center of a room with 4 doors.. one door on each wall.. and every door leads back to the center of the room in which you started. When you start talking about Black Holes you've gotten into some of the most complicated and confusing shit out there.
To understand how light always travels at a constant yet a black hole can trap light you would have to understand the General Theory of Relativity, which I will completely admit is complicated as a mofo and I have no formal education on it.
The main point is that the black hole curves spacetime back on itself, so that all paths in the interior of the black hole lead back to the singularity at the center. Continued...
The Parallax method is only useful for measuring nearer stars. Hovind completely ignores other methods... At least in this video. Hovind says that those distances can not be measured accurately. But what does hovind consider accurate? Even if it's EXTREMELY unaccurate which it is not and it's off by 95% that still just a TAD bit more than 6000 years.
Well considering that Hovind is a preacher with a fake Ph.d I would imagine that lots of stuff that he dosen't understand seems impossible to him. For some reason though he thinks that what he thinks has any bearing on reality.
Hovind says something about what if the stars were already there just behind the dust.
The Hubble has Infrared capabilities. I would hope that a telescope that we have sunk 100s of millions of dollars into could not be defeated because some dust was in the way. All that stuff that Hovind says we never see.. like flames leaping from a star etc. We only see a dot a light.... Well.. Ummm... he's lying.
