  • This does a great job of showing the demand for Emancipet's services, how pet owners want to help control animal overpopulation, and how many owners wouldn't be able to spay or neuter if Emancipet's funding is cut.

Austin citizens have another chance to give their opinions about the proposed cuts: Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 6:30 PM, Givens Recreation Center, 3811 E. 12th St. Calling the offices of the mayor and city council members has a big impact too.

  • superb video - this service is vital to the community!

  • I think it is messed up that so many of us living in east Austin are trying so hard to do the right thing by sterilizing our animals, and we are still getting the shaft. COA is cutting Emancipet's funding by HALF! Of course, they say the other half will be covered by donations, but who can afford to donate? Those who would are not able. Those who are able just don't care. They figure we should get out there and work for it ourselves. News flash: WE DO! YOU JUST DON'T PAY US ENOUGH!

  • It is obvious that this service is valued by the community when you have dozens of people who will show up at 4 and 5am just to make sure they get on the list for the day.

  • I would have to agree!
