Finally another light 1-hand opening knife besides the ladybug in the cute&sturdy size. Can't wait! ladybugs are gateway drug to collecting ( me;4 colors, 3 steels, ) and fun to deploy.
Great mr. Thompson/CS realize they rule the mega-folders and there's also market for more mini-folders, few players and new laws pushing more buyers that way.
With faux g-10 scales and a blade coating future 100% color editions are easily done, let's first see how fair knifetests abuses a nano triad lock (best).
@MrSpetsnaz101 A tanto point is stronger but if you are hunting I don't think that's going to be your biggest concern. Check out the Hunting Knives section on our website
@Knifeguy1a I believe the Micro Recon I is Faux G10. It's our own custom material that mimics the look and feel of G10 - In our tests it has performed amazingly well
dear cold steel, scouts now have insain rules on knives we canot have a knife over 4 intches and it canot be fixed blade, you have a few knives withch will work, but do you think maby 2013 you mite make a scout knife? just a idea, looks liek the new stuff is badass :D
@porygon110 Hi. Check out the Mini Tuff Lite, The Medium Voyagers, the Rajah III, the Mini AK47 and the Mini Lawman. All of these might be of interest. See our products at coldsteel (dotcom)
@csknives thank you for the reply, i will check them out but me and many of the other scouts dont have money for the best of the best, maby a mini kudu?
@porygon110 there are no plans that I know of, but you never know what the future may bring. In the meantime check out the Medium Voyagers in particular (multiple blade style options) they are for my mind the most knife for the money in the world.
@csknives Most knife for the money? Hardly. Look at the BK2, it's even a fixed blade, with a full tang. Cute knives though, would be cool to but on a bracelet or something.
@G0dSeth Our knives that are equipped with the thumb plate feature open faster than any asst opener. An asst opener requires you to pull the knife from your pocket and then open them, whereas a knife equipped with our thumb plate opens as you pull it from the pocket. Check out our Spartan, Rajah, AK47 and several others :)
@csknives What do you mean thumb stud knives open faster than spring assisted? That isn't true. Also, You can open a spring assisted knife just the same as you normally would in your pocket with a thumb stud knife.
@Flomounier1 I'm talking about our Thumb Plate (as featured on the Rajah, Spartan, Espada, AK47 and other models). It snags on your pocket and opens the knife as you draw it from your pocket. Whereas an asst opener requires you to draw it from your pocket and then open it. Check them out, I think you'll like them
@csknives I think that the thumb plate is the best (for me). I have several spring assisted knives and they're cool... until you have to lend it to someone who's not familiar with this system : the spring action will likely freak them out, and they can cut themselves when the blade pops up... But if you explain them beforehand they'll freak out and won't dare use it... So you'll open it for them and (omg ! a switchblade ! you're a rapist !)... yeah, they'll freak out...
To csknives- Please design a fully functional Macuahuitl (Aztec war sword/club). You could be the only company out there that makes one! I could definitely see a fully functional, 30 inch Macuahuitl made out of polypropylene and 1055 carbon steel. Keep up the good work!
dude you should listen to mrjesse999 an aztec sword would be the tits cmon'. think about it. you already have a very interesting and extensive range of normal knives and swords and your exotics are anything but trophy weapons how baller would it be to see people with that thing!
Yo Lynn, remember that time you popped that charging buffalo? That was some bossa nova shit, honkey. So when are you going to hunt a bull with a sword? THAT would be the shiznit.
I am really liking this. As a Chicagoan, That law of 2in-2.5in on folders or concealed and such really suck. I still collect decent-large folders, fixed blades (such as your spike scimitar and leatherneck) and I am trying to find small (legal I guess you can say), but great knives! With these, I am sure I won't be disappointed.
I love these smaller knives you're doing. Still solid, but small enough that I know I will carry it. Can't wait till my local shop gets this and the mini Recon 1. Then I can decide on which one will work for me. I work at an office so 2-3 inches is really all I need for most of my edc tasks.
the knife looks very pretty but it looks shit for actual combat and doesnt look like it could penetrate flesh without falling out of the hand, i'd say its best for stealth only and soft spot strikes
@crayzeesteve I think you'd be surprised. We of course prefer a larger knife for self defense but having seen how this knife performs I have no doubt it could serve in that function if your life depended upon it. Could it be used in self defense? I'd say yes. It could also be used for many many other uses, but it's primary function is as a utility EDC.
@csknives true, but idk im just trying to think about the force of swinging it, i do all tricks and spins with knives around my fingers and ik it must be fairly easy to drop it, but considering how sharp they are i could be wrong
@crayzeesteve The tricks and spins are going to be more hazardous in "real combat" than the size of your knife. This knife is for using, not spinning ;)
@csknives ik lol, i just like to make it look artistic, i wouldnt do it when someone with a baseball bat comes along, probably not the best thing to do... ,:j lol
@CutleryNovice I don't think this knife is legal in the UK which makes The Spyderco Bug line knives stand out more towards people in the UK. Saying that I imagine it will be a huge success in the USA/
Well, ... Is it possible to get it without the thumb open things ?
(That make it a "Einhandmesser" (/One handed knive) and therefore illegal to carry in Germany.)
I personally think the tactical design is a bit overdone on suchg a small knive, but the size would be awesome, as small knives are better for my personal EDC. (I barely have in everyday live more use for knifves than letter opening, and abusing them as a screw-driver. For both small knives are perfect.)
@jerome96114 I'm not sure (as I don't have one in front of me) but if it features the same ambidextrous thumb stud as some of our larger models it will be removable. Try emailing customer services, they will be able to tell you for sure. Thanks :)
So glad I subscribed to this channel. I've never seen a folding knife of this size, especially with such a good locking system. It's also a convenient size. Still, though, the Nachez Bowie is my dream knife :P not as convenient to carry around, but a beautiful instrument
THANK YOU Lynn , that EXACTLY what i wanted to see. this is THE video i was waiting for. you know what ? this model isn't out yet and still you already sold AT least 3 right here. a spear point and the tanto for me and a spear point for my friend.
