I had one as well. I remember staring through the holes in the back of his head, with the face hinge open and thinking....this is cool but why did they make this guy? lol
I might still have my Pulsar tucked away at my parent's house... I also had his enemy Hypno (Hypnos?) who had a swirling, hypnotic disk in his chest that could spark.
I'm so obsessed with Pulsar. Mainly I want to find the creators of this toy and ask "Just what the hell is going on with this guy? His power is transparent torso skin and a hinged face?!?"
Still got mine...lungs still pump and blood still flows! They knew how to make toys last when I was a kid...we were ruthless with them, but they could take a lot of damage!
@mandingoviking I wish I still had mine, I do remember it really was freaking tough, I did a lot of shit to it. hahaha I remember that I also wanted a Stretch Armstrong that Christmas but didn't get it, some kid got one and brought it to school, the kids in my class pulled that apart thing so much the rubber broke and gel came spewing out! I was so glad then that I had a Pulsar and not a Stretch :)
I had one of those I even thoght of buying one on ebey but the blood is probably all dried out by now.Is it just me but weren't the best toys made from 70 -83?
Yeah, I remember this from back in the day. It was pretty fucked up. The odd thing is, this doll wasn't based on any character from any tv series, which was a common practice in those days.
Thanks for posting this commercial! I have him, his Life Systems Center, and his enemy Hypnos still after all these years. Wow that takes me back. He had many an adventure with G.I.Joe, The Six Million Dollar Man, and all their like sized allies. What fond memories,
i own this 13" Figure in my Stuffed-Animal and doll collection, he is my 2nd 13"Figure since my Childhood.

Cool toy. I had one. The name Pulsar sounds like a gay bar in these times.

A friend had this when I was a whipper-snapper; It terrified and sickened me, what with the frightening naked organs on display and all...
This is the first time I've learned his "real" name--- my friend misled me by calling him "CAPTAIN GUTS" (!!!)

I used to have one back when I was only seven years old. I wish I could've kept mine after 33 years.

All right, what exactly did that "mission disc" in his brain do?
c8udyp 1 year ago
@c8udyp It told him what his mission was. Duh!
Plus it gave you a good excuse to rip off his face.
