Crucifixtion is not what people think it is; it is much worse. Forget rensainnace painting of the crucifixation. The princlple does have his wrists nailed to the cross with nail in between the arm and wrist. That's not the worst. The cross is made to be lifted and fall into a hole. Now the worst: forget one foot nailed over the other. Thru both ankels from the outside of the ankle a nail is punched from the outside of each ankel with a nail to the cross. You could linger for days before you die.

Actually, according to historical facts, we know that Jesus died because he was crucified and not taken down UNTIL the roman centurion certified he was dead by stabbing him in the side with a spear. And if you know about how crucifixion works, leaving him there for a long time means he eventually bleeds to death. Jesus was not taken down early, in fact he was left there until the roman centurion stabbed him and ensured he was dead.
