@trollkunst not sorcery. thass da devil's work. it's the hand of the Lord reaching down thru the golden clouds of Heaven to into the Angel Cafeteria to tap Gabriel on his wings telling him go down and tap your keyboard real lightning angel fast, so you thought it was YOU, that did it, so then you 'd have this wack mystery to solve, cept not 4 long cuz you could look up at the no. 1 comment and get some teenage jeezus camp experience 2nd hand and BE SAVED.HELLAJEWYA!. that's my theory anyway.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Tonight (Dec. 24, Christmas Eve), I attended a service at a local Lutheran Church. Question: Who Are These Shepherds Who Run to See? Read Luke 2:15-20. Then turn to Hymn #290 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. And I hope that everyone reading this has a Merry Christmas.
When I was child , I heared this song about Jesus on my tape recorder , but I didn´t understood the message . I grew up in an atheist family . Later I was invited to a Christian youthgroup and heared about Jesus and made personal experience with Jesus. I think , it is very difficult to understand the message , when there is noone to explain. Today I can say : Jesus Christ is born ! For all menkind ! Halleluja !
See the amazing Al Jarreau for his Greatest Hits Tour in London 2011 on the 3rd of July at The Royal Festival Hall, 24th of July Birmingham Symphony Hall and on the 25th of July at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall! It's also his first time back to Manchester and Birmingham in 15 years.
@Ritlagaboma - Perhaps because you're from France you're unfamiliar with the history of this song. You may have first heard it by Dolly, but it's an African American spiritual dating back to at least 1865, most likely originally sung by slaves. If you enjoy this version, you'll also probably like the one by Take 6 but I can't find it on youtube.
God said He would make a" peculiar people" for Himself....Me and Al....we're two of em!!!!! Just kidding....or am I??! I just love Al Jareau and I know God does too!! What a wonderful and joyful rendition of a great old song!!

Try not to be so obtuse and enjoy the music.
A) It was a live TV special w/ at least 8 other soloists. Autocue would be par for the course.
B) He was pushing 70 when this was filmed (67)...he's entitled.
