  • Was this the Christmas Concert at The House of Hope in Chicago when it was first opened?

  • I think the devil himself clicked dislike

  • why to dislike this....?

  • @Widmerpool99

Try not to be so obtuse and enjoy the music.

    A) It was a live TV special w/ at least 8 other soloists. Autocue would be par for the course.

    B) He was pushing 70 when this was filmed (67)...he's entitled.

  • When I was child , I heared this song about Jesus on my tape recorder , but I didn´t understood the message . I grew up in an atheist family . Later I was invited to a Christian youthgroup and heared about Jesus and made personal experience with Jesus. I think , it is very difficult to understand the message , when there is noone to explain. Today I can say : Jesus Christ is born ! For all menkind ! Halleluja !

  • @deranaloge sketchy

  • 2:45 Pity he needs an autocue. It's not that complicated a song.

  • This guy enjoys the music while singing it that is what i call the secret recipe of bringing the audience in to a great focus.

He is number one vocalist and a great performer ,

    well done !!

  • Amazing, you gotta love Al.

  • This is what makes jazz so awesome.

It takes from its surroundings and makes of it something more.

Jazzed up gospel.. who'd a thought?

  • Yes!

  • My God - this man is so amazing - his voice needs to be insured for infinite amount.

  • @Ritlagaboma - Perhaps because you're from France you're unfamiliar with the history of this song. You may have first heard it by Dolly, but it's an African American spiritual dating back to at least 1865, most likely originally sung by slaves. If you enjoy this version, you'll also probably like the one by Take 6 but I can't find it on youtube.

  • To bring you into the spirit folks, better groove than this is hard to find in such a common song!

    Enjoy!
