The first nuclear test in Russia happened in 1949, which means that they would have had to have been started working on it before the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in 1945 to have been able to do their tests 4 years later, seeing as it took the states roughly 5 years to finish the Manhattan Project with the help of former German scientists.

yeah its awesome, love the sea battles as quirky as they are. 1.6 patch seemed to fix all the crashes because i certainly haven't had any, not on turn 99 or in the bunker hill map.

@BlakByte When japan got nuked, it ended WW2, but it started the nuclear arms race between Soviet Union and US(happened same year), anyway does each total war campagin follow the direct timeline of real life no, maybe the goal of the game is to prevent the end of the world by lasting till a certain year or you can kill everybody.

this tip wil help you get land in India on the first turn even if you play as the US

pick either The Porteguese or dutch (The Porteguese don't start off with allies so choose them) and offer a city of your own for Goa in India (dont demand millitary acess from them!!!) then declare war on them and reclaim your cities in your home land... there you have a spot in India! then you may go on to invade the Marathas or Mughals :)

PS: if you did this as Spain... Portagul makes a nice Protectorate...

The British conquered only India as part of their Eastern Empire. China controlled global trade and was clearly superior to the British at that time. The Porteguese were one of the most powerful civilizations in the world, size doesn't always matter.

I'm slightly confused why China and Japan are exluded from the map, i mean the British did once have influence over Hong Kong. I can see why they left out the far corners of Russia, i recall Rome total war taking forever just to take a few measely provinces in a far flung corner and took ages. But surely Africa can't be avoided?

I see less cities, which reduces the excessive micromanagement in the previous games, i wonder how the spies/diplomats work.

what? how come they excluded so much of the world that was carved up into colonies in this time? Most of Africa is blank. there is no Australia, most of Asia is gone, and they dont include a lot of the Americas. they should have the whole world on the map

actully the game is set from 1700 to 1800 most of africa at this time wasn't discover until 1870, although austrailia was discovered at 1770 but it was a penal colony were criminals went so it isn't valubale. you can trade with areas that arnt on the map like south america the philipines and afria, why the creaters made it so you can't take over the whole world is so money becomes more inportant in trading with these continents rather than taking them over, also the management would be to grazy.

You do realise most african colonies were established in the 1800s when there was a great rush for colonies in Africa. France, Britain, Italy, Belgium and Germany all went for these (Germany after the unification in 1870)

Yea, i think they cut back on cities so their would be less siege battles. That way you have to be more reliant on winning battles in the field, which i think are funner than siege battles.

Yeah, but in ETW you also got villages and smaller towns, so i think that's the reason that the cities are so far from each other. But still if you look at the Netherlands, German countries and Italy, you will see that the cities are not so far from each other
