Affordable or free health care coverage is necessary for anyone who doesn't have it. That being said, no matter what the issue is, someone will find fault or negatives or opposites. Driving a car is more deadly than smoking, for example. No one should drive. McDonalds fast food adds to the cost of medical care expenses. I have worked between 70 and 80 hours per week for the last 23 years and earn between $70,000. and $90,000. per year. 1/3 of that has gone to pay taxes, which I do not regret one bit. Taxes are necessary. I still work. But if I get seriously ill and an no longer work, you're damned right I should expect that I will be taken care of. And if I don't become ill, I will still be paying taxes that I will not benefit from, but someone else who can not work due to illness WILL be taken care of.

On top of the $23,000. I pay out in taxes (which I usually get half back)... paying in $10,000. on average x 23 years: $230,000. of my income... I also pay out over $3,000. per year for health insurance. My co-pay is 20% and other miscellaneous costs. I had surgery on my back in 2002 which cost me over $5,000. WITH my insurance coverage that I pay for. That did not include lost wages for one month of $5,000. for a grand total over $10,000. when all was said and done. Not ALL can pay it.
