  • lol this made feel like a kid again, thank you, it looks amazing

  • i just might sign up for SL because of this! this looks amazing!

  • I`m a new arrival to this city, amazing place!

  • Any advice on getting those great images. When I set my graphics level to high I can barely move through New Babbage and when I set my graphics to low hardly any of it appears unless I'm really close.

  • I wish this was real life

  • Philp Glass: What?

  • Never played this game before, but this looks quite interesting. The steampunk style and all got me intrigued lately.

  • 3:17 bioshock flashbacks.

  • so does one have to have an adult account to go to new babbage because i've tried and failed

  • What's nice is that you can rez small airships and fly around over the town. The tunnel systems are pretty cool as well.

  • Visit New Babbage. I want to live there!!!

  • how to get there?

  • This is just amazing! I cannot say more! Amazing! *_*

  • wow i love the steampunk style of it i recently got a steampunk outfit for 50L it was awesome =3

  • Only 1 more year til I get promoted from the teen grid. In the meantime, I'm working on a steampunk AV so I don't look like a complete noob when I enter the main grid.

  • hey cool. Whats your name on TSL, ill add you. I want to see it.

  • Mustakrakish Heckroth.

    You might wanna copy-paste that.

  • New Babbage has grown alot since this video was made. Grown by 4 sims i think. I will have to make a new video sometime soon to show the new places.

  • Nothing Like Abit Of SteamPunk With A Tesla Sitting On The Roof At 1:36 , Tsk Tsk Tsk!

  • Laggy...

  • babbage? lol

  • Fantastic.

What a stunning land, wonderfully captured here.

Watching this makes me want to head back in world and stroll those avenues.....

  • Lovely video! I dig Steampunk.

  • I think I was here while pricing ships ( I unfortunately didnt end up deciding on one of the vessels sold here). Once I finish getting the funds to build my AV I'll be sure to stop by here and chat with you guys some. Very well done.

  • That's my Mermaid Arcade!

  • whats the music?

  • phillip glass

  • Absolutely gorgeous. great video :D

  • We had a video made for our sim, but after reading your blog about this video I went out and bought the same tool you mentioned you used so we could make them ourselves. I have been collecting stock footage and practicing with it since, great video indeed and thanks for the tips

  • wow, that's awesome! really makes me regret the fact that i can't run second life. i created a user name over a year ago. really want to visit!

  • If you can tell me a budget you have to work with I can put together a parts list for a computer that will run SL for you.

  • lmao.. thanks. i got a comp that can run it these days. got bored quick, tho. noob to second life and was pretty dead in there. stopped by a few days ago.

  • There are lots of 3rd party viewers for SL like Cool viewer, kirsties Viewer and nicholaz, imprudence. They all have varying results on different computers, but all usually work better than Linden Labs.

  • lol what can i say. i'm a noob! gave up, as soon as i started. :P

  • me too - I couldn't figure out how to do anything or make anything.

  • Outstanding!

  • god i wish a decent steampunk game existed. they should get thier own engine and make a giant commuinty made standalone game

  • sticky, I made a steampunk supergroup in City of Heroes. Where ACTION is the word of the day. Not sitting about, sipping tea like some jackanape.

  • oh Loki....this is just brilliant! thank you dear for creating this video homage to our town....it looks *so* alluring and really embodies why i became a proud resident!

    ~Capt. Red

  • This video has single-handedly made me want to get over the SL lag issues and go there!

  • I wonder if Philip Glass has seen this video - I'd bet he'd be impressed on how the music goes with the visuals.

  • this almost deserves its own game.

  • Drop the almost and you are dead on!

  • Thanks Loki. You make us proud.

  • Fantastisch. O_O

  • OMG! I love it! I am a fellow steampunk resident in Second Life. I must come visit your town!

  • Wow. Simply wow. Amazing stuff.

  • That is a build I have to see.

  • awesome

  • Very nice tour video. Good choice of music. Clean camera work.

  • Wonderful! Definitely beautiful! Good luck from The Sausage Machine!

  • sausage machine?

  • Absolutely stunning !

  • Very well done. I haven't been on SL in months, since before the new atmospherics tools were implemented. I see the camera is a bit smoother too. Nice work, this makes me want to log back in.

  • there is none, its all a myth created by google

  • Nice video. I know the music is Philip Glass, but can you point me to the specific piece?

  • heroes sympthany on itunes

  • Thanks. Philip Glass is perfect Steampunk music.

  • Quite nice mate.

  • Very cool!

    Well made movie.

  • Gorgeous. And to think there are actually people who claim there is no creativity in SL!

  • It's quite beautiful. I've resisted playing around in these virtual worlds (preferring the actual) but ... this is gorgeous!

  • tight production, very atmospheric :)

  • --tho' I'd love to see people (avatars); that would add another dimension. Music is perfect.

Watching fullscreen in High Quality, the camera pans are very cinematic--the best I've seen in SL machinima. Is the jerkiness because of the limitations of your computer using Windlight and maximum distance?

  • the jerkyness is the result of drawdistance. I use a macbook pro, the viewer has a bug that causes the client to freeze and lock down the entire computer after a while. The video took several attempts to capture. It was a test to see what kinda atmosphere i could capture, hence why there are no people as it was very early in the day. I hope to soon do a proper short film with story.

  • Truly a superb piece of film, Loki. Really well put together, fantastic marriage of soundtrack and slick visuals, and I love the leading and fading shots of you in the balloon. Nifty touch.

Oh, found this via New World Notes, by the way. Congrats. on the feature. :)
