Our rescue cat that we got had no name :( They didn't know anything about him...they estimated him to be about 8 yrs old. Someone must've taken good care of him as he was neutered & declawed already. Nobody claimed him, he was at the shelter for over a month. God knew he needed a home & so He took our sweet Buckwheat to the Rainbow Bridge @ 19 yrs old. The shelter rescue was so magnificent we named him MAGNIFICAT ! We call him NIFFY :)

My first pet was a Tuxedo Kitten. I brought him home on Sept 25, 1987 @ 7 weeks old. He lived 19 yrs, 3 months & 18 days. He passed on Nov 28, 2006...the worst day of my life! I'm 38 now..in 06, I was 36, & I had him over half of my life!! The loss was incredibly hard. NEVER thought I'd get another cat but the house was SO empty, I couldn't stand it..after only 2 wks, hubby & I went to the shelter & rescued an 8yr old darlin' who was to be euthanized in a week! THANK GOD!

It truly feels amazing to rescue an animal from a shelter. Penelope was also from the shelter (the shelter named her Penelope, and I liked it so much I just had to keep it :-) Here's wishing you many years of happiness with the newest member of your family!

Penelope's beautiful- thanks for the video response, a fellow tuxedo cat lover, I see! Harley prefers to hog the couch and the bed, to a point- how he does the geometry so a 14 lb. cat can hog a queen size bed is beyond me. But he does it...
