@cameronbosco Hello. This is not an airport. This is the bank of river DUNA in BUDAPEST (capital of Hungary) in XIII. district, end of Dráva street. The Helicopters transport their passangers (of course for expensive price) to the Hungarian Formula-1 race to Mogyoród, what is about 20 Km's. This service available only under the days of training and race. Have a nice day!
@20stevieray Hello! According to factory's technical description: for example Performance With C20B Engine: "Maximum cruise speed: 249 Km/h at 1524 m (5000 ft) Speed for best range: 222 Km/h at 1524 m (5000 ft) Maximum permitted speed: 282 Km/h VNE at sea level Maximum Rate of Climb:(TOP) 9 m/sec Maximum Operating Altitude: 4877 m Service Ceiling 4227 m The price is depend from so many things. visit: mdhelicopters com Greetings.
Jó volt látni, 1993-ban sokat repültünk vele a Balcsin egész nyáron. Még Szekér Jasával meg apuval (Sin Sándor) aki akkor szerelte...na meg a Miss Saigon-on Szegedi szabadtérin...
Disagree. Quite a sturdy craft, with high reliability, a good autorotation profile and impressive crash-resistant design, particularly the later model D's and E's.
I agree with you. Pretty much when you land hard in any other helicopter besides a Hughes 369E (MD500), the landing gear gives out, and the floor caves in. You crash in an MD500 though, the landing gear gives out, and the helicopter rolls like an egg. That is why they built it like that, definitely the safest helicopter around.
Interesting, I hadn't seen that. Not a factory job - must be aftermarket, cant be too difficult but you wouldn't want to get it wrong. But the nose would still have the C/D rounded design...unless you aftermarket upgrade that too. But by then you might as well just buy an E. By the way, I just visited MD Helicopters last week at HAI in Anaheim,CA, big display, plus had a couple of 900's on display. They seem to be coming back online after a near death experience.
This looks like an MD500E but on closer inspection of the nose it looks like it may have been a 500C or D with an upgraded nose to make it look like the E version of this chopper. Regardless, C/D/E they are all great birds! I had the privilege to fly in a MD500E in Hawaii and it was one unforgettably awesome flight.
i agree. it is physically impossible for a heli to go supersonic. the fastest chopper was clocked at 250mph (i think). i live in the bahamas and see bell 222's (the airwolf)all the time because they use them for tours. they're kinda slow. in real life an md 500 would murder airwolf.
hi, what area are they taking off from?? What is the closest airport??

what are the call numbers for this helicopter i think this is the one we rebuilt
Vetch36 3 years ago
because of the whining sound of the tail rotor, its probably a MD500D or E.
BMXStatus302 3 years ago
so sick how the rotor was so cyclic right like that!

I don't know much about this helicopter but it does look very cool and very maneuverable. Is it?

@qrs11 Even the US military likes the MD 500....aka.. Little Bird
kurnellampdwarf 7 months ago
Not a C model since the tail would be different (canted). looks like an E.
qrs11 3 years ago
The C V tail can be swapped out for an E T tail

The MD500 could potentially be a base for an all electric conversion. Its light and agile, and it could work.
