i think that music is something we try to do our best on. i don't measure my abilities against others or their opinions, i measure my progress against myself and simply enjoy growing and follwoing my passion. i think that is what music is all about and if your passion is to do your best, then that is all that matters. i really enjoy this recording and would have loved to be there when it was made... it just takes you away...

There is some kind of clumsiness in the playing of the instruments but i take it as the musician is high on the natural surroundings :), it sounds very genuine and emotional.

@horsey604 thanks... I think what really matters in music is atmosphere, and the emotions deriving from it...music is to be listened to, not to be watched.

anyway my accordion is 70 years old and its drones are totally out of tune and crunchy sounding (though I think that's awesome, for the bass chords sound like choirs)... I couldn't play the uilleann pipes at the time, twas two weeks I had been playing them, and the same for the bodhran...

@horsey604 anyway, if I should imagine the kelts' ritual music, I'd not think of it as a precise thing... My playing is actually clumsy, but that's not a bad thing for such music, I think

@horsey604 Who cares if it's clumsy. Everyone expects music to be released on CD with the best production techniques currently available, which often allows for digitally enhancing it. As far as I'm aware, this musician is doing nothing wrong by releasing a more honest album.

I think he is doing a splendid job.

@BlackFolkAndPiano non mi non convince il ritmo delle percussioni, dopo un pò diventa monotono, la fisarmonica l'avrei impiegata per accordi di sottofondo per il tin, mi sembra troppo indipendente (anche se queste cose le dico per mio gusto personale, non dico che siano sbagliate); ma quella che veramente stona è l'uilleann pipe, io la toglierei o cambierei proprio la parte

@FiabaDelGuerriero allora sono proprio gusti... il bodhran lo suono da pochi giorni, quindi non conosco tanti ritmi, lo ammetto...la parte delle uilleann invece sono una delle cose che mi piacciono di piu, anche se non le suono ancora bene.. e il brano è basato sulla fisarmonica xD de gustibus

@FiabaDelGuerriero li ascolto e li suonavo xD ho avuto a lungo una band black metal...eravamo forti, abbiamo ancora una decina di pezzi nostri, ma non abbiamo piu un chitarrista e quindi non suoniamo più

@FiabaDelGuerriero comunque questa canzone la rifaccio ciclicamente. :) ne ho una vecchia versione dove suonavo male il low whistle e la fisarmonica. poi questa nuova versione dove suono bene il low e la fisa abbastanza, e ho inserito il bodhran e le pipes.. poi tra un mese, quando saprò suonare meglio entrambi, riregistrerò tutto
