  • But at least he was part of the start.

The beginning of a professional football team not run by gangsters.

I have been watching them since the late 60s and there cannot be a single city fan from those times who now thinks we are living in a dream. Hull City in the Premiership, can anyone believe that happened?

Whatever you think of Phil Brown he was part of the building blocks that got us to where we are now. Possibly another chance at the Premiership. The dream just goes on and on.

  • Absolutley shocking Manager ! Used Taylors team and then as soon as he had to buy his own team he lost it! Bought them for too much and gave em too high wages! Got us in 80 million debt for christ sake if you were a real hull fan you would see he was awful !

  • I like the video and enjoyed his time at the helm; however, it must also be noted that alongside Paul Duffen, they dismantled Hull City to the point that we were on the brink of administration. I'm not saying he purposely did this and I believe he had good intentions and is a true Tiger, but he mismanaged the transfers and we were lucky the Allams have stepped in to save us.

  • This braught a tear to my eyes what a wanderful thing he did for us its so sad that we got rid of him he did something that this club has waited a long time to do reach the top flight and i just have to say this guy did amazing thing. Hope one day he returns i felt sorry for him when people abused him :( good guy he was Good luk :)

  • GREAT VID

  • although, that team talk is an infamous piece in the first season. you cant blame on a full season of poor away results. i personally dont blame brown, luck at the results that came in the second season: 2-1 and 2-2 vs man city, just lossed and drew 1-1 with chelsea. 3-0 up vs everton. (only won 3-2 but whatever.) 2-1 vs stoke from 1-0 down, had jimmy not got hurt and brown not sacked, they still would have been in the prem guaranteed.

  • if someone can tell me why did he left ?

  • @davidme5 He didnt win a game for 36 games

  • @ZaoZoni lol that made me laugh, but again he is good

  • Hoping he helps us stay up. PHIL BROWNS SUPER WHITE ARMY!

  • @XiiMoss Doubt it mate but good luck in League 1 .. You'll win the league with Brownie

  • according to boateng, the infamous half time team talk is what destroyed hull city's morale and caused us to go downhill.....its a shame that it had to come to tht. Forever more Phil Brown! A TRUE Hull City legend!!

  • @TheLinkmaster12345 Yes it was. Browns ego was like Mourinhios, but unlike Mourinho he doesn't back it up with ability. Hull only stayed up in their first season because of a good run before Browns on-pitch talk. Glad to see Browns down the league 1 with Preston, he was miles out of his depth in the prem. The Jimmy Bullard signing sums that up.

  • @flyingjibberish ok, but was it pure luck they were promoted? You've got to give the man sum credit. On the back of the 06-07 survival campaign, he finished 3rd in the Championship, winning at Wembley thus booking Hull City into the Premier League/top flight for the 1st time EVER. all in abt 1 FULL season in charge. coupled with the early run in form in the premier league makes him an effective manager. the team talk was a mistake and one tht cost him his job. nonetheless, he has PROVEN HIMSELF.

  • @TheLinkmaster12345 Yes it may have been luck on Browns part, managers like Roy Keane and Tony Mowbray won promotion from the Championship as well, promoted managers arent always good enough for the Prem. In the Championship teams tend to be evenly matched, anyone can beat anyone. So to some extent it is down to luck who goes up (remember Derby?) and not so much down to the manager. Brown was nothing special tactically and his signings got Hull into serious debt without really improving the team

  • @flyingjibberish before Paul Duffen told him he cudnt. and NEVER compare tht catastrophe to Hull City. Did Derby beat Arsenal? No, they only won 1 GAME v Newcastle in Sept. We managed 2 stay top half early on(until the team talk) getting wayyy more than 11 points. and 07-08 was not luck. we brushed of the 4th place contender 2 stay in 3rd. Explain how luck can play a part in tht situation. and promoted managers/pb cant cut it? Phil Brown = Premier League Manager of the Month for September :PP
