  • No fall protection, PPE, or proper ladder set up? This is a standard ladder bail out but it's training, train like you fight but please do it safely, fall protection should be used in a training situation this way if you mess up your safe, any safety guy will tell you that, good form on the bail but please do it safer so you can do it again.

  • @robertsc77 Fall protection? When I learned how to do this I was in full PPE from the top of a building 20 feet up. If you always have the mindset during training that if you screw up you'll be ok, you will make a mistake on a call.

  • don't see the point in this maneuver at all. Surely it would only work with someone footing the ladder? If you've got time to call a ladder you've got time to get on the thing properly

  • You fight fires in Texas without PPE? Death, Texas style!

  • I had my first Firefighter Survival Class todayand the headfirst bailout was my favorite part.

Even though we did it in full PPE.

  • other than that good job. Keep at it. make it second nature

  • Agreed, safety first then do it in full gear. Train like you will fight because you will fight like you train.

  • 0:57 ....He got it right. HAVE THAT LADDER HEELED!!!

  • why the hell would you take out the audio and put pointless music instead? How the ufk are we supposed to hear what hes saying dipshit? Video editing isnt for everyone, so why not leave it to the professionals ey?

  • for all the people bagging on them, why dont you go out and try to do what they do.

  • In my county ur not allowed on the fireground without full ppe...(no scba's, unless going into a burn house)

  • must be difficult with that long sleeve shirt on jeez..

  • Ditto on the belay. Clearly the second guy is doing this for the first time.

  • Couple of issues here, this is training where is the belay line?? Safety first brothers, LODD happen in training too.

  • Yawn...

  • so in other words the texas style is be a pussy and not bail out? yeah we do this in ohio...except we actually bail out of the window. and ohio sucks and is boring. we win.

  • lousy music

  • hey we wear our PPE for a reason and i am only a 15 year old Jr. FF and i know that becaues i just got done with cadet camp last week and idk how or why but during our gruation show i wreaked my fire fighting goves idk how or on what but i am damn glad it is my goves and not my hand and i dont care if it is more training for us and to show off what we laerned to our famly but what if the instucters said ya go adead u dont got to wear ur goves all ur done is a seach and it just for show

  • @FIREFIGTER301 uh...first of all, learn how to spell. second of all, you just give that shit a try, with full gear on. i guarantee you fall right on your face.

  • @firedestroyer1000 We train that way all the time, we never go in a burning building without full PPE? So why would you train without it.

  • Faaaaaag video taping

  • @busse5160 right ive never learned anything when im not wearing full turnout gear. i just sit there and look around aimlessly until the turnout gear unlocks my brains learning ability. maybe we should just wear it all day at the firehouse. maybe we should clean the toilets while wearing level A hazmat suits since there are acids and biological contaminents involved.

  • safety / tag line would be nice incase the fell

  • FFDGP wanna bes

  • giant wall. small dark window. weird.

  • judging by the guy wearing the helmet and sweater, it might be faster to the stairs to bail-out.

  • you don't have to wear ppe all the time . it's just so they can get used to the idea of bailing out of a window . take it easy on them man ... kid's will become the next generation of firefighters that's how they learn . if u guy's r proud of how u guy's worked as a team and did the drill right then there is not a damn thing anyone can say about it .... good job !

  • This video looks like a boat load of young punk kids. Wheres the instructor? He should have his license taken away. Who cares what State this is from, it doesnt make you cooler if you dont use PPE. Maybe all your punk buddies will think your so cool when your sitting in a wheel chair paralyzed from a head injury falling 10-15 feet which could of been avoided.... This is a GREAT training video, for exactly what NOT to do!!!!

  • @FirefighterJohnM ???? ppe protects against cuts and fire

i dont see any fire or sharp objects

and the helmets the only thing that can protect you from a fall

so the point of your raving is?

  • @22bb11aa33cc

So yall dont train for the real deal? Yall just goof off? This could be handy training if done correctly. Training without PPE and with PPE are too huge differences.. Not raving, just stating.. Thanks

  • @FirefighterJohnM we do but they may be trying it without ppe to get used to it

  • @22bb11aa33cc

Thats like saying we train to fight fire without air packs or PPE to get used to the heat and smoke.. Ya doesnt make any sense. Train like the real thing.. Period!

  • @FirefighterJohnM well that's not always an option like if you have a bunch of terrified kids they would feel more comfortable without ppe the first couple of times

  • @22bb11aa33cc Terrified kids? Dont ya think my heart my racing the first time I busted through the door of a working fire. Dont ya think I was nervous on my first car fire about a tire blowing, bumpers shooting, magnesium firing. Dont ya think my first extrication I was thinking about air bags going off, pins popping, hydraulic lines breaking But I trained for all that WITH PPE. I mean come on. It dont matter if you got safety lines after safety lines. You train like its a real thing..period.

  • @22bb11aa33cc But trust me bro. I'm not trying to be a dick, or be an internet raver. As you see it takes me a while to answer, bc I come on. I hate to see ANY firefighter hurt. Doesnt matter if they are 14 in an explorer post, or16 as a Jr ff, or a 75 year old directing traffic. Wear your PPE its there to safe your life, They dont make it for nothing! And I seen someone say about kids being the next generation! Absolutely!!!! I started when I was 16, and Ive worked hard to be where i am today.

  • @FirefighterJohnM what would turnout gear do for them in this situation? people get so stuck on "wearing your gear" theres no fire, theres no broken glass or sharp metal around like training on cutting cars. they are learning how to get out of a window and slide down a ladder? what exactly would PPE protect them from? next thing you know we might as well wear our turnout gear while mowing the lawn at the station....the mower might blow up or catch on fire, never know better wear your gear...

  • @resqjason2 Lets start by the smart attitude you have toward the fire service! Thats not going to get you anywhere, PERIOD! I'm all around joking around but not when it comes to training. Like I said before bro, you train like the real thing. Are you going to extricate a practice car that someone donated to your fire dept without cribbing just because the parking brake works and its not smashed? I would hope not. How do you learn without doing it the correct way?? Same in this case.

  • @resqjason2 Cont. Eveeryone knows that training with turn out gear is totally different then training without turn out gear. I can easily go through my pockets and find stuff without gloves on, but can you do it with gloves on.?Thats why we practice! I can easily do tons of things easier with turn out gear off, then with it on. I hope when you went through your FF1 and 2 classes your instructor didnt send you through small holes which force you to take your pack off, with out a pack on.. did he?

  • We do that in California too, except we use full ppe and belay lines. NFPA style!!!

  • There is nothing even going on in this video.....music is pointless too

  • Chin straps on your helmet are there to be used, lucky this guy did not fall..lose his unsecured helmet and split his head on the pavement. Good example of how not to be safe.

  • yeah i would like to see one of these folks in the video do it in full gear. not just a wildland nomex.

  • texas doesnt have to follow osha or nfpa there ass backwards down there

  • basic skill that is not only used in texas.......sorry

  • Well, he didn't have all his turn out gear on...he didn't have a belay line on...I don't know what else you do in texas..but please next time do it right...and set the example of proper safety IAW NFPA / OSHA standards... This should be labled how to NOT conduct bailout training... Texas style....

  • Why the heavy music just to watch people go up and down a ladder?

  • @busse5160 maybe they where just being instructed on how to do it first
