  • aaaaaah Now I see How You came to become so Open wise and enlightened , You studied with the great Hakham Faur

  • I'm gentile, and have to say that whenever I've considered Judaic religion or philosophy, I'm always far more drawn to what I interpret to be plain, practical, down-to-earth teaching as opposed to anything that comes across as what I would call "mystical additions". To be honest, I'm surprised that more Jewish people aren't so skeptical or concerned about whether writings that turned up and gained popularity during times so far removed from Sinai could be forgeries. If they are...

  • @daniellachlanclark ...Of course one could argue "you're a gentile"... to which I can't argue back - I can only give my opinion. And yes I understand that the purpose of pushing for a more intriguing "mystical" Judaism is to appeal to Jewish people, not gentiles... nonetheless, my opinion.

  • Men make everything sooo complicated...

  • I believe everyone should respect one another and live in peace. I find Jewish faith interesting and look forward to research it in depth.

  • I don't think mysticism and a 'down to earth' faith for 'the masses' are necessarily contradictory. The Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (great grandson of the Baal Shem Tov; founder of Chassidus) was a kabbalist - yet he was in favour of a pure and simple faith! For example, he spoke his wisdom through his famous stories so everyone would understand and he set some simple rules for meditation (hisbodedus), which anyone could follow. Just doing mitzvos, is p'shat level stuff...rise above it!!

  • Just read this and you know for sure almost everything the author stands for, no insult!

    wikipedia => Dor_Daim

  • @kanaiboded Note: Maran HaRav Yosef Karo drew from more than 80 Halakhot, which are exclusively mentioned in the Zohar HaKadosh and in more than 40 places he ruled in accordance with the Zohar as well.

  • @AaronHai1 Yes, this is known. Perhaps you should read the article "Halakha and Kabbalah: Rabbi Joseph Karo’s Shulchan Aruch and Magid Mesharim" by Shlomo Brody about that.

  • @AaronHai1 I was looking for the list of these places. I used to have it, but have lost it. Do you have it?

  • @omedyashar even if i did [that is in english] i would be liable to: You shall not place a stumbling block before a blind person: Before a person who is “blind” regarding a matter, you shall not give advice that is improper for him. [PS...U SEEM LIKE AN OVER ALL HONEST PERSON, BUT A STRONGLY OPPOSE U'RE'S AND MEZA'S ATTEMPTS - BIKHLAL] :))

  • BS"D

    Wonderful video!

Breath of fresh air. So good to hear someone else talk about my own hashqapha.

plus im always a sucker for of a mention of Sa3adia Gaon in our current age =]

Is this the same message R. Asher is trying to give over ???

  • @613degrees I think something along the same lines.

  • @omedyashar

    BS"D

I see, I guess I might be his method of delivery that throws me off.

Anyways keep up the good work!

  • The Chinuch continues: "We must enforce our religion through fear of the masses of our police and army; and by getting them used to going on the proper path out offear, they will learn to make it part of their nature to do what is righteous..."

kiruv must be Forced by LAW.it works.and tht is important.

  • The Shach (ibid. 6) writes that the "Mekubbalim and later Rabbis (Acharonim) strongly prohibited learning Kabbala until one is a great Torah scholar, with a thorough knowledge of 'all' Talmudic tractates ("Shas"). Some even maintain that one must be at least 40 years old. One must also be filled with Kedusha, Tahara, Zerizut, Nekiyut, literally, "sanctity, purity, zeal and cleanliness."

  • The Gemara (13a) writes that even great Mishnaic authors (Tanaim) were not prepared to delve into these topics, and some of them did and were destroyed. According to the Maharsha (Chagiga 13a, "Tah") Kabbala is more esoteric then Maaseh Merkava (Ezekiel's vision of the Divine Chariot) and must be hidden to an even greater extent then the latter.

The Gra (ibid 18) cites the Gemara in Chagiga (13a) as the source for this restriction.

  • Changing Judaism to gain religious is a Base Atempt. The Mishna in Chagiga (11b) prohibits a Rabbi from teaching Maaseh Merkava (Ezekiel's vision of the Divine Chariot) to anyone but a great Talmid Chacham, a wise Talmudic scholar. The Mishna also forbids one from investigating deep, philosophical ideas about God, and it states, "It would have been better for such a person not to be created."

  • @ShlomoHaAvinoo I'm opposed to changing authentic Talmudic halakha, as is the type you mention here. I promote a restoration to the original approach to Torah learning.

  • @omedyashar Interestingly the Qabbalists and Chassidim ''changed''Judaism to make it''more fun''to the Masses.their wanting to change the Original Talmudic study, lead to all this mess.

    Shalom V Yivarekh.

  • People should Listen to this man..I am A Jew by birth..but this man is a Ger..Just to let you all know a Ger is on a higher level..very precious to G-d..We should start by converting all Noachides..We need these people!!..The Noachide is a waste..Let them become Jews

  • @rollinglibs1012 He's misleading many jews with these videos and rebelling against the spokespersons of the Torah... Rambam says harsh things about such a person.

  • I don't know any Jewish people and so I can't comment on this issue. But it sounds like good advice.

  • Excellent video. Mysticism will draw people on the fringes like Madonna claiming Judaism as their own. We can do better than this by following the Torah and Talmud and knowing them. Thank you!!!

  • @zionbehr Kabalah is NOT red fringes and this crazy "Kabalah Center", don´t mix this!

The Torah and Talmud is also full of what you call mysticism.

  • @kanaiboded Kabalah might offer some spiritual insights. I am Jewish, I use to teach courses on comparative religion. Interesting that many cults have adopted Kabalah, is some form, Free Masonry, Rosicrucians and some Pagans. The Kabalah can be an interesting source of study. Yet, it could be one of the most destructive works and teaching to ever to leave Judaism.

  • @zionbehr I 100% agree, I also "studied" comparative religion and many people don´t even know that they have kabalistic teachings in their beliefs, take the Mormons for example. In Freemasonry and Rosicrucians it´s even open. Yes, misunderstood Kabalah can be very destructive, we can see that in Shabtai Zwi. Kabalah can be very misleading for the masses, thats why Kabalah should NOT taught to them. I myself are very careful in that.

  • @kanaiboded 'Kabbalah' wasn't used as a term for mysticism or esoteric teachings until late in the Middle Ages. Before then, the term 'kabbalah' was used in reference to the whole corpus of divinely received Jewish teaching (hince 'kabbalah' - meaning 'what has been received / reception). Thus, pre-Zohar (1300s) the word kabbalah was consistently used in reference to all of Jewish Scripture (Tanakh) as well as rulings passed down from Moshe.

  • @omedyashar Yes, now what? ;)

  • Thank you for a great video, may we all be moved by this video.

  • What about the millions of dollars given to orthodox jewry by guilt ridden secular jews? And a jews responsibility in this world goes well beyond the study of torah. I think the jewish noble peace prize winners are a testament to that.

  • @pboisei I agree. That was emphasized in the video.

  • Very good analysis. It is possible to say in one sentence, how beeing in gods will is observable? I think Hillel once tried this, but he remained on a rational/philosophic level.

  • @omedyashar I DONT KNOW WHERE U GET U'RE MISQUOTED SOURCES FROM... ONE THING I KNOW IS THE VILNA GAON DID NOT EVER DENY IT'S AUTHENTICITY - AS FAR AS HALAKHA IS CONCERNED - THERE ARE MANY DISAGREEMENTS IN MANY PARTS OF ORAL TORAH, THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S NOT TRUE - REMEMBER, EILU V'EILU DIVREI ELOKIM HAYIM, AND OUT OF LOVE, PLEASE DON'T PRONOUNCE G-D'S NAME'S WITHOUT THEIR COMPLETE PASUQ [VERSE].

  • @AaronHai1 I follow the Rambam's psaq on the matter of saying G-d's names, as was made explicit in the teshuvot of Rav Qafih. "elu v-elu divrei eloHim hhaiyim."

Your comments in this response of yours indicates a misunderstanding of my words.

  • @omedyashar U DELETED MY COMMENT ON PHILOSOPHY AND I DON'T APPRECIATE THAT...

  • @AaronHai1 I said no more than 2 posts at a time. I don't appreciate violation. I delete multiple consecutive posts indiscriminately.

  • @AaronHai1 See the video I recently posted titled: "Debunking The Zohar"

  • One of your best videos ever. Kol hakavod!

  • @omedyashar DID THE VILNA GAON DENY IT?

  • @AaronHai1 The Vilna Gaon denied it's authority in halakhic matters. The Vilna Gaon's appreciation for the Zohar was not for halakhic matters. Did the Vilna Gaon write that one is a heretic for not regarding the Zohar as a source for halakha, practical Jewish law?

And even if he did, he would need a source for that opinion; but this wasn't his view.

  • @AaronHai1 No, he didn´t :) Halacha is Halacha and Kabalah is Kabalah. Rambam is the lowest common denominator for every jew, that´s why we don´t find Kabalah in his teachings but even Rambam didn´t deny Kabalah.

  • @kanaiboded THE RAMBAM QUOTES DOZENS OF PHRASES [WORD FOR WORD] DIRECTLY OUT OF THE ZOHAR LIKE: KING DAVID WAS A RAHMAN TO YISRAEL AND AN AKHZAR [CRUEL] TO UMOT HA OLAM....

  • @AaronHai1 Now, after we have merited the revelation of the

wisdom of Kabbalah, which embodies the ultimate truth concerning G-d and faith, we no longer have permission to

engage in philosophical study as a means of clarifying our beliefs. Bottom line, philosophy is no more than manmade wisdom,

rendered obsolete by the revelation of the Zohar. This is why the Vilna Gaon was so vehemently

opposed to the study of philosophy (Biur HaGra on Yoreh Deah 179:13).

  • @AaronHai1 I suggest you read the quote from the Hatam Sofer, to be found under the video; click "Show more."

  • @AaronHai1 No problem with that, I think that Kabalah is very important and part of our tradition, that´s what the word means.

  • Kol Hakavod, Yosef. This is an excellent video !

  • PURE HERESY...!!! QUIT BEING SMARTER THAN THOUSANDS OF POSKIM WHO ALL FOLLOWED IN THE ZOHAR'S LIGHT... AS WELL AS MAIMONIDES ZTZ''L

  • @AaronHai1 Thanks for sharing your opinion. I ask that major claims be backed up with reason. Calls of heresy are a serious matter. The Sages taught that one who excommunicates a kosher individual is himself to be excommunicated. Prove from the Rif or the Rambam that my words are "heresy." Don't spam. No more than 2 posts at a time.

Besides that there are many major posqim who denied the Zohar's authority, even if it weren't so "truth doesn't become less true if all were to disagree with it."
