this is NOT the direction DCI should be taking in 2011.........hokie crap.........FANTASTIC drum corps dumbing it down to draw in the masses. this is ordinary.............check out the XtraordinarY!!!!!
@tuckert43 I'm glad there are corps that play different genres. The only hokey crap I get is the preshow. The show would be so much better with just that first hit ala Madison 2001.
You definitely have to listen to it alot. You're right, the average joe will slightly like it because they know the music. I think it'll help pull in more fans. Sure the drum corps fans will be slightly disappointed. I was too. But in the end it might surprise you. I just can't even believe someone would compare this to a college show. The precision, the amount of thought and effort put it into this is a thousand times more then a college show [not dissing any colleges or anything.]
@0ceanic815 Because they actually care about their fans. And they're doing and amazing job at it, as I recall they broke the 80 mark last night and are the only corps besides the cavies that have done so so far.
@STApercussionkid And as I recall, the first thing I said was "they're such a good drum corps." As far as them actually "caring about their fans," not really sure I follow you, this seems more to me like an average joe would get slight satisfaction out of it because they recognize the music. I would think most drum corps fans would be slightly disappointed. But hey, I'm not here to tell you what to like. I must admit the show has slightly grown on me.
@0ceanic815 I believe this show has grown on everyone, including the judges. Seeing as of now, they are #1 in the rankings of DCI World Class. I will say, it is a fantastic show and concept. Different, VERY different. But good, nonetheless. Sure, they are playing music that the audience will know, but they portray this show with such incredible musicianship & that CC "style" that all their fans have come to love. Plus, that "Bohemian Rhapsody" hit is absolutely phenomenal. RACH ON CROWN!!!
Does anyone know the name of the guy who plays the drum set?

@STApercussionkid I loved this show the first time I saw it, and I have been watching drumcorps since 1988.
