In the decades to come this is only going to be remembered as a modern equivalant of william shatners "rocket man" cover .i cant honestly believe for one second that even attempting a song as vocally difficult as last goodbye and not really bothering to try to hit any of the notes will ever be seen as a great idea.Scarlett is a fairly good actress but this is just cringeworthy.

@LoneAxman I'm not discounting Jeff Buckley... he's amazing, and name me one singer in music today who can hit his range. The great thing about a cover is that you put your take on it... your own emotion. Not even bothering to hit any of the notes? Do you remember anyone trying to hit any of the notes Dylan hit on any one of the times he has been covered? No, who would want to? The point is, listen to it as it's own piece of music and don't compare with Buckley... it's not fair.

@joetz34 Everyone is entitled to there opinion.That is what makes us human.But in reply to your comment,it may not be fair to compare,but it is an inevitable fact that if you cover a song it will be compared to the original.If an artist doesnt want a cover to be compared then they shouldnt have covered a song in the first place.Your point on dylan is correct,but dylan was,lets be honest,never the greatest vocalist .So many times his songs have been improved by the cover versions (cont)

Jeff Buckley is NOT overrated. The mere fact that he died having released only two albums does not make an artist less good than what he is considered to be. He has influenced countless succesful artists and was a pioneer. For fucks sake, what else am i going to read...

@miyavi8 yes, i've listened to a lot of his music since my best friend is one of his obsessed fans, but i just get nothing from it. everything i said was opinion, including him becoming overrated. that doesn't berate the talent you believe he had, but simply means that a lot of people say he's amazing and sing his praises having only heard a few of his songs. the 'impact'' you say he had is also just opinion.

This is not near as bad as people say. It may not be as emotional as Jeff's version, but it is still a worthy remake. Quite different, yes. But still by no means a bad version. And I love Scarlett's voice.
