  • john! you could actually sing!!

  • Takes me back to my high school days. Heard it on the university radio program in '83 and had actually recorded it but had never seen the video before, until now. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Was listening to the WLIR/DRE tribute station and came across this long forgotten gem. Had to come to You Tube to re-listen to this.. What a blast from the past...

  • lol why do i get girls in swimingpools as recommended vids after watching this? :D

  • What a great slice of 80's pop - I dare you to get that chorus out of your head for at least three days.

There's an album version that's got an extended middle section.

  • great wlir lost hit, if only i can find wolfman tap. btw there was a club on eastern long island called paris ny and lir would play this song for the advertisement

  • love the mood an excellent band from the glorious 80's and if you r ever in london check out electric dreams, a club that runs out of the purple turtle, 80's electo heaven

  • New greatest hits cd out now on cherryred.

  • Blimey, this takes me back. I remember seeing them in York at the INL Club in 83ish. Got the signed 12 inch versions of Paris, Don't Stop and Passion In Dark Rooms somewhere. Now I need to dig them out!

  • I was at the INL. I was going out with Eric then. They used to play a lot at the Warehouse in Leeds, as the owner (Mike?) was their manager.

  • @purity1967 I was there too, john was my apprentice at the carriage works

  • I am working with John at the moment he is great bloke ,with bizare sense of humour.he loves talking about the Mood, & is still well into music.

  • @jasdog107 Tell him I apprecate the music, the Don't Stop single reminded me of Gary Numan when I first heard it

  • john lead vocalist told me at the hellfire club in york around 83 time that the mood stood for " men of our days ". just missed the new romantic boat shame really a great band

  • York bloke here...my mate's brother worked at The Sheds with one of the band...god, I feel old...

  • My cousin was the girlfriend of the Lead singer

  • Brilliant and Fantastic!!!

    Thanks for this video!!!!

    Paris Is One Day Away...!!!

  • Brilliant song and I bought it when it came out, but it's from '82, guys, not '83. Sorry for being so pedantic. lol.

  • I love this song. I have the original EP from 83 on vinyl. I would love a CD version of this to put on my IPOD. another obscrure great band from the 80's.

  • Im dying for the new Singles Collection - one of my best treasured vynil records is the 7" picture disk for this song. Love it - cross between Japan and Spandau Ballet (the vocal style - just like 'To Cut a Long Story Short' and that 'dancing La Lunne' thing). Brilliant!

  • There is a new CD called "The Singles Collection" on Cherry Red Records released on 21/7/08.

  • I knew john when he worked at buywell, wonder what the old dog is up to now, top tune

  • In relation to my last comment. Having had a rather unpleasant experience last week when I was caught up in a traffic jam for 23 hours and forty five minutes, I must say that your estimated travel time to Paris is not as far off as I was first led to believe.. However, there is still a discrepancy of 15 minutes. Come on lads, try harder next time.

  • fantastic!got this on vinyl somwhere..havent heard it since the 80's...cheers

  • I'm having a really weird afternoon revisiting my past. I can't believe this lot are on youtube. I was Eric's girlfriend for about 16 months in the 80s, and I probably know things about him his son doesn't! (Sorry.) Never liked the music though, but I've got all the picture discs. The model was the producer's girlfriend.

  • I must say that i visited paris recently and it took me considerably less time to reach my destination than 1 day, as your song states.. however, having said that, I do live less than 20 minutes from the centre of Paris... Ooh la la la. keep up the good work Mark ; )

  • The synth guy teaches electronics at my school lol

  • I'm good friends with john Moore the lead singer, still lives in York. Also releases an album called Passion in dark rooms available from amazon only US release

  • Thanks! Takes me back to some great days...

  • Made my day -THANK YOU!!

  • Please! Someone tell me, where can i buy this song?

  • ebay ;)

  • yep and I bought this and Passion in Dark Rooms on ebay last month!

  • OMG MY DIGITAL ELECTRONICS TEACHER IS IN THE MOOD!

if you dont beleive me, check wikipedia! i go to st albans school

  • btw im talking about mr logan

  • ooops jsut realised - that eric john (logan) to you lot

  • My dad was the manager for a while back in the day. I have some bits of memorabilia kicking around, they we're nice guys.

  • I visited Paris recently and I couldn't get the chorus out of my head. It's a very catchy tune :-) Also, it's suprising that this only reached #42 in the UK charts. It deserved much better than that and should have been re-released. Cheers

  • My friend Mark is the drummer. He's the young one witrh dark hair. Ha!

  • Hi folks

Are there any more video links to The Mood singles? I have to declare my interest at this point........This was my dads band so am looking to find more online so I can continue to bribe him :)

  • Hello, This is the only known music video that I am aware of.

  • Hey Justin - they also did a video for Passion in Dark Rooms set in a load of caves!

  • No way...this is great news! Now I just need to find a copy of that music video!

  • @DJBenLogan ... I used to love The Mood way back in the early 80's and had the first three singles, I have to say that they did brilliant B-sides as well, The Munich Thing was awesome, its a pity they didn't have more success - tell your dad good stuff.

  • @DJBenLogan Cool, which member was he?

  • i have this on 12" fantastic record... thanks

  • great band- 'don't stop' was another one of their hits- 'paris' reached #42 in the UK and almost made it for them- how they never made it big remains a great mystery

  • I also like the other song they sang. "I don't need your love now" Good style to their music!

  • fantastic band. whatever happened to john moore?

  • i have been looking for this for at least 20 years...a great song, thank you!

  • i bought this on record just cos it was a picture disc and loved it when i played it. haven't seen video before - thanks for adding it
