Nadie discute la profesionalidad y el buen hacer de Andre Rieu, pero algunas veces se pasa en las versiones que interpreta. Creo que para el que quiera oir el Concierto de Aranjuez, como debe ser interopretado, vaya a cualquie video de algún guitarrista importante, como Paco de Lucia.

La versión no está tan mal, pero debiera haber incluido, algún video de los maravillosos jardines del Palacio Real de Aranjuez ó de los jardines del otro palacio que se llama "La Casa del Principe". El palacio y los jardines, fueron mandados construir por el rey Felipe V, en el año 1727.
The orchestral arrangement has its moments but tends to overemphasize the extra dramatic portions of the melody. "Concierto di Aranjuez" has so many varied passages, ranging from dramatic to the most subtle of musical moments. This just paints over the whole tune and turns it into bubbling pap. It's as if Michael Bay had tried to remake "Hannah and Her Sisters".

@caegahe Realmente no observo ese desfase, en las partes en que se enfoca al "boxifonista" (por ejemplo en el final de 3:45 a 3:50) no parece haber más de 250 milisegundos de desfase entre audio y video, mientras que la arcada del violín de 3:06 dura más de 2 segundos. Tampoco se distingue el violín de Rieu dentro del tutti orquestal, si es que tocó realmente, con lo cual habría tocado, eventualmente, la parte de alguno delos violines, pero en 0:29 él dirige nada más y los violines atrás tocan.

Pienso que hay partes en las que igual Rieu no consideró que resaltara su violín y es tan sencillo como que le en la mezcla baje y suban el volumen, o modulando él mismo su ejecución, tal vez por eso no lo escuchamos en el tutti. Te dejo el mismo video pero con mejor calidad por lo del desfase para que lo cheques si quieres

I am Dutch and I don't like Andres music that much (totally not my style). But at least we can hope a part of the audience will find the true marvell of this piece of art after hearing this and searching on the net...

As I am of Portugese parents, I invite you to listen to Mon Amour (ou Meu amor) from Amalia Rodrigues. I do not like fado nor Amalia in general, but that interpretation of Aranjuez is bonechilling (I think). Aranjuez...have been so many times in that part of Spain. In Spain, I feel home, Concierto de Aranjuez brings warmth to freezing Holland...

This piece is so dear to my heart! It's always interesting to hear Andre Rieu's interpretations but this piece particularly is perfect as it is and any "embellishments" really take away from the beauty of this fine piece of music.

I heard it but find it hard to believe.....one of the more beautiful efforts by a composer, this idiot turns it into some Christmas song with bells, whistles and grinder organ but without the lovely monkey. Someone said that the only difference is the use of church bells.....really? Get a decent recording, sit back, close your eyes and listen. If you still like this version.....hit yourself in the head with a brick....that should do the trick.......Sorry.
I like this unique interpretation of Rodrigo. I see the left wing purists have hit this video in force. The only thing they criticize is the fact that he uses church bells in place of the guitar. It is a cover song and in cover songs artists do things differently then what the composer may have had in mind. The audio quality on You Tube is not great no matter what the source is.

Por Dios, como se puede destrozar así uno de los conciertos más bonitos que hay, si no encuentras un guitarrista pues sigue buscando, pero hacer esa mierda que ha realizado ahi, es para cortarse las venas por dios. Es la peor versión sin duda de todos los tiempos, pobre Maestro Rodrigo, una obra tan bella y que llegue este "señor" y se la cargue así, en fin esta claro que el mal gusto se da hasta en donde debe prevalecer la armonia y la belleza como es en la música clásica.
This is HORRIBLE. It doesn't have to be the guitar (although given that it was written for the guitar it would seem reasonable to use it!) and can be for the trumpet. I wonder what it might sound like on the harp - if you can play all those complex chords and melody simultaneously on a harp?
But those bells are absolutely HIDEOUS - too high, out of tune, timing all over the place - it's just wrong, horrible, and wrong!

Que me perdoem os chamados "puristas", mas quando Mozart era vivo e escrevia música, muita gente disse que ele iria destruir a música tida, na altura, como "clássica" e foi alvo de tantas criticas como de aclamação. Não conheço outras obras deste senhor mas acho genial o pormenor de pôr os carrilhões a tocar em conjunto com a orquestra e acho este arranjo muito bem conseguido.

Joaquin Rodrigo was a blind musician who composed this song the very day that his child was born dead, and his wife was in great danger of daying in hospital. In the song he is asking God why, and at the same time begging Him not to take her as well. The tempo should be a bit slower for my taste.
This is terrible-Rodrigo is added to Rieu's list of composers ruined by his commercial europap 'orchestra'. What I object to is Rieu's treatment of all the music he uses for his commercial gain-he turns everything into a sort of bland lift muzak. Everything is smoothed out and all subtletly of the original music totally lost in waves of smooth strings and synthesisers.
He transforms Art into Kitsch Pap.
A law should be passed protecting composers from this. I see he's done no Mahler yet....

this guy was influenced by ''schlager music'' a kind of german/austrian popular music.
that's why i said germans,but i did'nt mean to offend nobody.
it is just a very inappropriate arrangement for that lovely piece of music.
let Rodrigo a bit of respect.
Germans deserve lot of thanks for the classic music history .
Leave Rodrigo to Paco Delucia and give Rieu the oktoberfest.

either they play or transform all music into marches or they ruining what they think has to be personalize.
they think to add a ''german touch''like in this case the bells is to make the music better,not understanding that guitar solo in this piece is the voice of soul wich give results Rodrigo wanted ti achieve.

@Albertosky1 Thanks I already listened to Paco. Like him a lot. Also like him in Flamenco (fantastic movie by Saura) and so many other fantastic works. As I am of Portugese parents, I invite you to listen to Mon Amour (ou Meu amor) from Amalia Rodrigues. I do not like fado nor Amalia in general, but that interpretation of Aranjuez is bonechilling (I think). Aranjuez...have been so many times in that part of Spain. In Spain, I feel home, Concierto de Aranjuez brings warmth to freezing Holland...

This piece is so dear to my heart! It's always interesting to hear Andre Rieu's interpretations but this piece particularly is perfect as it is and any "embellishments" really take away from the beauty of this fine piece of music.

if you listen carefully you can hear the influence the moors and the sephardic jews had on spanish folclore and ultimately on spanish classical composers...unfortunately to be politically correct , a great many historians in spain as well as the catholic church will attribute the 500 years between 1000a,c and 1492 a.c ...as insignificant .

La musica classica lleva siglos tocandose igual, siglo tras siglo. Creo que es interesante escuchar versiones done se usan obras maestras y se hacen variasiones diferentes con ellas.
Algunas puede que queden bien, otras mal, pero el concepto es interesante.
Vanessa Mae ha tocato veriones classicas en viiolin mezclando con rock y otros estilos

I heard it but find it hard to believe.....one of the more beautiful efforts by a composer, this idiot turns it into some Christmas song with bells, whistles and grinder organ but without the lovely monkey. Someone said that the only difference is the use of church bells.....really? Get a decent recording, sit back, close your eyes and listen. If you still like this version.....hit yourself in the head with a brick....that should do the trick.......Sorry.

I like this unique interpretation of Rodrigo. I see the left wing purists have hit this video in force. The only thing they criticize is the fact that he uses church bells in place of the guitar. It is a cover song and in cover songs artists do things differently then what the composer may have had in mind. The audio quality on You Tube is not great no matter what the source is.

Por Dios, como se puede destrozar así uno de los conciertos más bonitos que hay, si no encuentras un guitarrista pues sigue buscando, pero hacer esa mierda que ha realizado ahi, es para cortarse las venas por dios. Es la peor versión sin duda de todos los tiempos, pobre Maestro Rodrigo, una obra tan bella y que llegue este "señor" y se la cargue así, en fin esta claro que el mal gusto se da hasta en donde debe prevalecer la armonia y la belleza como es en la música clásica.

This is HORRIBLE. It doesn't have to be the guitar (although given that it was written for the guitar it would seem reasonable to use it!) and can be for the trumpet. I wonder what it might sound like on the harp - if you can play all those complex chords and melody simultaneously on a harp?
But those bells are absolutely HIDEOUS - too high, out of tune, timing all over the place - it's just wrong, horrible, and wrong!

Que me perdoem os chamados "puristas", mas quando Mozart era vivo e escrevia música, muita gente disse que ele iria destruir a música tida, na altura, como "clássica" e foi alvo de tantas criticas como de aclamação. Não conheço outras obras deste senhor mas acho genial o pormenor de pôr os carrilhões a tocar em conjunto com a orquestra e acho este arranjo muito bem conseguido.

Joaquin Rodrigo was a blind musician who composed this song the very day that his child was born dead, and his wife was in great danger of daying in hospital. In the song he is asking God why, and at the same time begging Him not to take her as well. The tempo should be a bit slower for my taste.

This is terrible-Rodrigo is added to Rieu's list of composers ruined by his commercial europap 'orchestra'. What I object to is Rieu's treatment of all the music he uses for his commercial gain-he turns everything into a sort of bland lift muzak. Everything is smoothed out and all subtletly of the original music totally lost in waves of smooth strings and synthesisers.
He transforms Art into Kitsch Pap.
A law should be passed protecting composers from this. I see he's done no Mahler yet....
