each play has there own way of playing drums, i for one find heel toe easier with bare feet, but cant get the same speed on double bass pedal, so if i use single bass pedal (usually on somebody elses kit) then bare feet. on my own kit with double bass i use shoes so i can do blast beats

I've done some research and ATR is both Metalcore and Melodic Death Metal. Just because they scream doesnt make them screamo. Bands like taproot, soad, rise against, linkin park, breaking benjamin, and etc. have screaming parts so you can say a lot of bands from different genres incorporate some kind of screaming but you wouldnt call them a screamo band. Screamo has roots in the "emo" genre and is this band emo....I THINK NOT.

ATR is Metalcore. The band does have a slight MDM sound but the overall sound is closer related Metalcore; just look at the fans, not to say all the fans are metalcore, but the majority seem to be. I am a fan of MDM, but ATR is "aight." This new album disappointed me, however.

Com on people. This is without doubt they'r best album out. Sure thing, they are more melodical and better musicians overall and the singers gotten better. If you miss "the old heavy all that remains" your swiming in deep waters. This band has never been heavy.

Sure, I think they make good music. Some good metalcroe bands is needed to counter the new-age fagpatrol with they'r "pretty" haircuts. but heavy? Compared to the everyday rock, but not compared to the core of extreme metal genres.
