This movie was awsome! I loved it, and it didnt really happen, i mean yeah there was an experiment like this but they shut it down after 6 days because people was stared getting depress. No actual violence happen.
@dayrinx33 was stared getting depress? I do not know what you mean by that, but because depress (assuming you mean depression) was in there I know you are wrong. They stopped the experiment because Zimbardo's friend stopped by and made him see the light of what the hell was going on
@cerebral23 Yeah sorry I spelled it wrong, Its just youtube who cares, and it was actually his girlfriend who made him see the " light". They stopped it because everyones behavior was beginning to changed like for example some stared to get DEPRESSED or having severe anxiety.
worst fucking movie ever. hour and a half of my life that ill never get back.
Average people pretend to be good guys and bad guys. the pretending actually ends when a guy dies, but the prisioners are gonna keep pretending to be prisoners, thought they outnumber the guards almost 3 to one. fucking pointless. dont watch it
Barris = Obama. Notice how they make it a point to show an anarchist teaming up with a neo-Nazi. Also notice the intentional irony of having the neo-Nazi as one of the oppressed while the emo guy is on the oppressor team. An intentional inversion of expectation. And on top of that, the anarchist is the LEADER of the oppressed (like Spartacus) even though anarchists are supposedly opposted to the concept of leadership.
@IggyHazard So wrong it's giving me tears. Let's not talk about your link between Barris and Obama (which is just funny when you don't prove shit) and let's focus on the real story (the true experiment). The "leader" ("number 77" I suppose?) is NOT A FREAKING LEADER to any. The guy was actually rejected by the others oppressed that believed he caused them many troubles.
Real life is not a movie. Learn to read before you learn to write. Nothing nice came out of the experiment. Nothing
@iChimoRawr My point was that the movie/s (and the original experiment) can be used to make all sorts of allegories. After "77" breaks out of confinement, he does become a sort of Spartacus figure. He also pulls "71" off Barris just so he can be the one to finish him off.
i kind of liked this movie, bu the ending was so fucking stupid! they were fighting to dead then they laid on the grass waiting for a bus. And they still got paid after 2 men were dead!!!!
I think it is stupid to make the exact same film just in another language, if you want to see the film from the stanford prison experiment, than is just 1 movie enough. i guess some people don't know what subtitles are then.
This is not a "copy" of "Das Experiment" per se. BOTH of these films, are adaptions of Zimbardo's famous STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT. Hit the books people, it's not all about who's copying who's idea of movies.
@DiogeneCore why get angry just chill your penis. what effect does it have over your life that they made a re-make? are you gonna miss out on a job because of this movie?? NO! just calm down if you dont like something then dont look at it!! no people like you ruin the world because your saying something hatefull, why did you post your comment? to let everybody now that they are assholes? your such a child much like all these other kids on youtube and little internet haters. ?why man? your poison
the message is, you should not be surprised or astounded that humans behave like this. Life, society, is a veneer; it's a thinly veiled cover of what we really are. Read lord of the flies, we soon revert back to atavistic types when given the chance. Law, informal and formal social control, keeps us away from chaos and anomie. But believe me, experiments by milgram, zimbardo, still relevant.
The U.S. is also re-writing history. Take U571. The US help the struggling Allies as they take a U boat Enigma decoding machine'. Yeah right. "David Ayer admitted that U-571 'distorted' history and stated that he would not do it again. Ayer told BBC Radio 4's The Film Programme that he "did not feel good" about suggesting Americans captured the Naval Enigma cipher rather than the British." What next? ZULU: The Green Berets at Rorke's Drift? U.S. kids must grow up thinking the US did everything!!
@biopsychosocio They will grow up beleiveing the US did every ''GOOD'' thing. (that excludes the CIA training Al Quada in the histroy books, apperantly not important enough; Your greatest enemy trained to kill by your own men, oohh how ironic)
The original is 10 times better , go watch Das Experiment. I don't get it why Hollywood always tries to remake a European movie and it always fail to be at least as good as the original.. Just like the spanish movie REC.. The japanese movies Ring,Grudge etc, there's tousands of movies being ''americanized'' .. I mean is it so hard to watch a foreign movie with subtitles? if it is go make up a own original movie not taking other's and making them worse..
@6KingCooper6 Standford Prison project in england (i think in England) i beleive around 5 guards and 5 prisoners or so and in the end the Guards got corrupted by power and where abusing the prisoners (teazing, making them do push-ups for days, waking them up in the middle of the night to extercise, taking away the matrasses, blankets and beds. It was a fucking disgusting part of Humanity that was shown there. there is a documentary with real life footage i beleive, just google. :D
Anyone complaining about Americans remaking European movies, if it's in a foreign language that Americans do not speak, how can they view the movie? Most people don't appreciate subtitles, a remake is a better way. Of course a remake is never better, but that's what has to happen in order to bring films to a larger audience. And let's be honest, this real experiment did happen at Stanford... In AMERICA
@vegan4Christ08 yes, it's called the Stanford Expiriment. This movie is based off of it. Psychologist Phillip Zimbardo created an Experiment to test what it was like for people when the become prisoners or guards. He built a mock prison in the Stanford Psychology buildings basement. The experiment ended after 6 days (was supposed to last 2 weeks) because of too much violence. Look it up it's strange.
I just saw a documentary about this on how it really happened and it was less violence and action than in this film. The prisoners had to do puch ups, and they'd get locked up in a tight dark room if they misbehaved. After a couple of days, the professor took a look on how it was going, he found it too harmful and too unhuman that he cancelled the experiment. In the film it's different but I understand it because it's a film and it should be entertaining and not educative...
@mpettel exactly! the german version made in 2001 one is just completely the same! not even any creative aspects in the 2010-version! just a cheap copy with some famous actors
@mpettel We'll America came out wit avatar...you know the movie that made the most money in the world beating Titanic so I beg to differ and guess what believe it or not America does come out with a lot of good movies I would I live in SoCal. I would like to not that im not trying to be an asshole and I expecting your mature enough to not be one, not saying you are though
@XxxxXJediXxxxX i disagree i mean i loved this remake but at leat they should have shown some respect and announce this as a remake of someone elses ideas cuz i mean they talk about SOPA of about not stealing another people ides and then they do this? it's just an opinion...
@mpettel Are you fucking stupid? "ripping of other countries movies"? You do know that both of the films are based on the Stanford Prison incident, which was in the US?. They didn't rip off anything, they did a re-make...
@ak47santic It doesn't matter where the incident was. All that matters is that this movie is the same, scene by scene, as the german movie. No own ideas, no alternative storyline. Just an uninspired Rip off.
Just like "Girl with a dragon tattoo" and a lot of japanese movies.
@mpettel it's the writer and the owner of the concept's choice whether there is a remake or something similar to the original; they were obviously notified, so calm down
@mpettel American here to answer your question. The fact of the matter is most Americans are far too arrogant to want to learn another language, no matter what the possible positives could result from it. So even if the movies are filmed directly into our theatres, then a majority, if not all, of the participants who engaged in the event to watch the movie would complain that they had to read subtitles instead of being allowed to just listen to the movie.
@Brachio12898 If you google Stanford Prison Experiment, I think you'll get your answer. They did a study back in the day that was pretty much the exact same premise as this movie, except for real. Subjects were divided into prisoners and guards, and pretty soon, the subjects started to become what they were roleplaying. Many of the "guards" got drunk on power and became power crazed sadists. Good game human nature.
@buzongtang It was not as violent as presented...Zimbardo ended the experiment right after his girlfriend told him that it was not only changing the subjects into actual guards and prisoners...it was changing HIM as well
This is the fucking second time they lock up Brody in compartment just large enough to keep one person!!! Whats up with that? A special request from Brody himself? Perhaps... :)
To those who havent seen "The Jacket." This is an order: Watch it!!! Great movie.
@ingentingerledigteit It doesnt sound that much... but when the scenes look that similar. Somethings fishy is going on...:) And when they end up doing it a third time!??? What do u say then!? :D
I can't believe how the human mind works, it so strange! It was amazing how it was showing that men do what they can to survive in the end, and when they are pushed far enough, their killer instincts emerge. The prisoners were like wild animals by the end.
It's not the fact that it was actually done on people, it is how the people in the experiment reacted. Anyone of us could react this way (with less over-acting ofc).
@10grandfather1 ....really? you didn't realize that from the beginning? Zimbardo did this WAY before 2000, let alone 2010. Not to mention he's done multiple books where he's mentioned it, and other books that have mentioned him. and it's still discussed in any anatomy/psychology class. It's a major experiment. Watch it, it's kind of more terrifying than this.
@ohlalaemmii OK i am only 19 and i have only just finished high school and i did not take a psychology class. And i have seen the hole movie and i do agree with u it is very disturbing to watch. And before i watch it i had no idea about it.
When I was in psychology class, I read about a real social experiment that was sort of like this except I think the prisoners were uni students or something.
@Mynameis29178 yeah. too bad it does not say anywhere "based on a actual study... BUT because we are Hollywood we are going to fuck it up". anyways great movie
Of course there are similarities to The Stanford Prison Experiment, but there was not violence anywhere near the level in this movie. Watch the documentary made for it.

DudeVsRandomshitFood 1 month ago

specializedchriss 1 month ago
I can't believe how the human mind works, it so strange! It was amazing how it was showing that men do what they can to survive in the end, and when they are pushed far enough, their killer instincts emerge. The prisoners were like wild animals by the end.

This was AMAZING!

Seriously, just watch Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment - that's interesting enough without throwing Adrian Brody in
Multivaaac 1 month ago
this was a great movie but it is sad when i found out it was base real events. And this a a real experiment that was done on people
10grandfather1 1 month ago
@10grandfather1
It's not the fact that it was actually done on people, it is how the people in the experiment reacted. Anyone of us could react this way (with less over-acting ofc).
Joni0001984 1 month ago
@10grandfather1 ....really? you didn't realize that from the beginning? Zimbardo did this WAY before 2000, let alone 2010. Not to mention he's done multiple books where he's mentioned it, and other books that have mentioned him. and it's still discussed in any anatomy/psychology class. It's a major experiment. Watch it, it's kind of more terrifying than this.
ohlalaemmii 1 month ago
@ohlalaemmii Indeed he did the Stamford prison experiment in 1971
binkiie4dictator 1 month ago
@ohlalaemmii OK i am only 19 and i have only just finished high school and i did not take a psychology class. And i have seen the hole movie and i do agree with u it is very disturbing to watch. And before i watch it i had no idea about it.

When I was in psychology class, I read about a real social experiment that was sort of like this except I think the prisoners were uni students or something.
SergeantFiasco 1 month ago
@SergeantFiasco
Yeah I think it's based on that experiment.

Of course there are similarities to The Stanford Prison Experiment, but there was not violence anywhere near the level in this movie. Watch the documentary made for it.
