  • how do you get to go in the cab?

  • Yes I could always see it was southbound toward London, no doubt about it. I can see all the local landmarks i know so well. I assumed 'UP' traffic was Northbound and 'Down' southbound... im not a rail fanatic, just a daily user with a passing interest. Great vids though, thanks for sharing.

  • @PRODIGY5369 You are correct.

In terms of direction of train travel,

All UP lines lead to London (Camden Road)

All DOWN lines lead away from London (Camden Road)

This applies to nearly all lines in the UK with some exceptions. Driving through Camden Road station (North London) the line names swap over e.g. the Down North London Line becomes the Up North London Line.

Its a confusing concept. I've been working on the railways for nearly 10 years and I still get them confused.... sometimes ;) .

  • Sorry but you are wrong this is South bound ie Up direction towards London as you can see it passes under the Coventry flyover first.

  • Thanks for the upload :) I live here and ride these every day, the ones that stop here though ;) hehe. Its nice to see it from the drivers perspective and going through at the local speed limit for which we took the pain of this track remodelling as local rail users. Just a small point though.. when you say UP do you mean North? This is most definately in the Southbound London direction, does that make it DOWN? Not trying to be pedantic or picky, its just for the geeks out there.

  • I can assure you it was 125mph and the AWS was for the signal in the opposite direction which should not have sounded but took a while to get working properly.

  • there is no way that's 125mph through Rugby as the AWS warning was giving restrictive signals only by the train was approaching the end of platfrom 4 did the signal change to a green !!

My guess is that he was doing about 75-80mph as it went under the Trent Valley Junction flyover

  • @valiant015 No it was 125, that aws warning wasn't for a signal as it was green. No way is that 80.

  • Buen video

  • nice! I was in UK this year and rode a Pendelino from London to Glasgow. They are good trains. But give me rather 2x50s pulling a 12 coach train.

  • Great! 5/5 Could you get some more of these?!

  • Watch my other video in the down direction as well.

  • @007sladegreen Is the entire west coast mainline complete with new track?

  • Great Video! Can you remember what Pendolino you were on and the journey it was working?

  • No,sorry

  • The driver cannot name the pendolino because his drivers manager could find what one he was driving and im sure in cab videos are not really *Aloud*

  • Marvellous!
