  • Good to see Eddie playing keys on this one...Probably towards the tale end of his time with the band.

  • temple of low men is such an interesting album... very different than their other stuff but very mature and intriguing to listen to

and amazing did i mention that lol?

  • One of my favorites too

  • Has anyone seen them do "Never be the Same" live in recent years? A great song from "Temple of Low Men" that never seems to appear on their set list these days.

  • @leach1527 their playing this song on their American tour now. Just heard it at their show in Atlanta the other night. Great song!!

  • Great. I was thrilled when they opened their set with this at Hammersmith last Tuesday

  • I remember when I heard this song the first time. It has that eerie quality that is just beautiful. I have the CD somewhere, and now feel the urge to find it! Thanks so much for posting this true gem.

  • good song

  • I love this song so much !!

  • i loves this song

  • Gorgeous song. Like so many of their songs, a great mix of melancholy and pop hook.

  • The Beatles from down under.Much more fun than all these overrated depressed English bands.

  • i agree

    they're amazing <3

  • Agree - some of the songs like Not the girl you think you are often remind me of the beatles, its great stuff.

  • Their music is so brilliant..nothing like it.

  • These guys are so awesome! Love them so much!

  • 2nd favourite crowded house song. timeless pop rock!

  • Thanks so much for posting all these great songs - I saw CROWDED HOUSE twice during the European Summer Tour in '92 in UK and again in LA they are still the best live band ever!

  • Its funny watching the video. The director is painfully obvious not to include any footage of Eddie Rayner on keyboards! Each time you see Paul he is looking over at Eddie smiling!

  • Temple Of Low Men was my favorite album for years. RIP Paul.

  • Beautiful.

  • One of my very favorite CH songs!!!

  • it just goes to show that not all 80's music was crap.

  • It's a shame they don't play this song live anymore...it's one of my favourites!

  • @kylehudson00 they do - they opened with it last Tuesday at Hammersmith and it was awesome

  • @leach1527 I know, and I'm so glad they're playing it again! It's been such a long time. Reminds me of when they rediscovered "Recurring Dream" on the last tour.

  • Their best work in my view

  • Love them

  • "above you, and beyond me too/

that kind of view don't need an explanation..."

    i love this band

  • Im stuck in the 80's especially CH. N one writes song as romantic as this. James Blunt eat your freaking heart out.

R.I.P. Paul Hester. Hard to watch these and see you man, still hurts a lot.

  • song is incredible. i always have good feelings listening to this band. its groovy, sexy. wish there was music like that being played today!

  • This wonderful song is not known to many people--.

  • Is that Eddie Rayner on keyboards? This is a wonderful song - everything that Neil Finn writes is just so. . .perfect for whatever mood I'm in.

  • Thank U

  • I love this song so much...

  • I saw them for their CH debut album, they opened for Bruce Hornsby, of all people. Wonderful! Hessie came out into the crowd and tried to liven them up, it was hilarious. After their set, the guys came out the door that led from the seats to the backstage and stood in the back watching the show. I wanted to go talk to them, but felt like I would have been intruding. Fantastic show. I also saw them in 94 for the Together Alone tour. Sheryl Crow opened with her debut Tues. Nite Music Club album.

  • this song got me through my first heartbreak!

  • awsome

  • seen them in december they were brilliant.rip paul hester .realshame

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • I feel that way all the time...

  • i feel possessed.

  • I don't want an explanation....It's just Beautiful...

  • You know, I never thought about it, but you are absolutely right. Both deserved much better receptions in the U.S. That is one reason I was so happy when Top of the Pops used to be broadcast here. You would see a lot of talent that otherwise would not even have been known to you. I guess I am VERY lucky, since I saw ABBA live in ? 1978 (only U.S. tour ?) and Croweded House twice when they first hit in America. And I will always remember all three concerts!

  • Just great in every way.

  • i love them. i love them. i love them, i dunno why but when ever i see a crowded house video with paul in it i feel like crying, RIP paul... this is one of my favourite songs by them...

  • omg I hear ya. they give me the chills--this song wrecks me.

  • totally, its gorgreous, i love neils voice, its amazing.

  • Great song, great band. Looking forward to their tour this year(07) Joe Jackson does a first class cover of this song. Check it out.

  • that woz a joke

  • Maybe they just got sick of shelling out big bucks for video's only to have people bag them?

  • Great tune. Dig the 'live show' type vid, even if this one has a couple of silly moments. Beats the crap outta the juvenile vignettes that permeate the idiom...

  • FG$%k off if ur gonna talk smack about Crowded House. It's about the music not the video...

  • My favourite crowded house song and album .... reminds me of rainy days and winter weather in Australia. Bella.

  • i love this song!

  • i love crowded house especially this song but i never knew jason donovan played keyboards on that track

  • Is it irony? You should know it is Eddy Rayner, former keyboarder of Split Enz

  • I love this song. It's not a great video, but the song stands on its own... good atmosphere... good composition. I'd pick this song, video and all, over some of the crap they're releasing now... I mean... come on... Paris Hilton is doing an album.

  • It's so much better to do your "schtick" when you have a great song to back it up! Crowded House.

  • Great song. Crap video. Assume they were 'otherwise engaged' when this was released?
