i wasnt even there because i would have been 4 years old, but being a city fan all of my life this has literally brought a tear to my eye, dont know whether to laugh or cry about it
This is literally bringing tears to my eyes now, even after all these years. A lot of kids now won't remember this - imagine watching Aguero's goal last night whilst being noshed off by Anna Kournikova and you're maybe just about halfway there.
i remember... i was 9 years old and we were at wembley... but my dad decided to tape the radio commentary, and even though that day is a total blur, i will always remember a day later being in the car with my dad and brother listening to this piece of commentary... especially the 'city are back from the dead' part. fucking hell, i'm welling up now... haha CTID
I remember. Some of the guys on our row left. One of the guys who left got back in. He said he heard a cheer when he got out of the stadium and thought it was Gillingham cheering for final whistle, but cops on Wembley Way told him it was a City goal. He got further down Wembley way and heard another cheer, again, thinks its final whistle, but cops say no, another city goal. He ran back up Wembley way and managed to get back in lol
i was there with my bro.. we decided on the spur of the moment to go to wembley on his motorbike.. was offered one ticket at half time.. we declined and watched the remainder with about 400 other blues in wembley way pub.... 2 2 and the place erupted.. tables everywhere.!!.how we got home i dont know.. carried on partying in reddish till the wee hours...he is sadly gone now r.i.p. (fucking bikes) but this is always a skin tingler and a moment we always talked about .... up the blues.....
I was there.. City fans round me were crying before Dickov scored, thinking of the prospects of another year in the second division. I can remember turning round to my Dad and saying we are gonna do a United in a minute! and come back from the dead.. City fans were amazing, we willed that ball in the back of the net..BTW that little reference to United wasn't to big them up... still fucking hate them with a passion.. Hey the good old days!! and better to come. CITY TILL I DIE
That goal meant everything to all City fans everywhere couldn't belive it still hard to belive that we came back from the dead like that. Dickov you fecking legend.
goosebumps everyfucking time. Tells you how much this meant to us City fans since I cant remember what I had for tea yesterday but I can remember that day when I was 9 years old very clearly! lol
I forget which station i was listening too, but all i remember is Gary Owen screaming "YEEES, YEEES, YEEES, YEEES!" constantly with emotion in his voice.
I was 14 years old and it reaffirmed my love for the Blues, especially after all the digs from 'Nited fans at school.
@belantino1979 I cannot agree with you more. Andy Buckley really threw himself into the commentary.
I'm proud to say that I was there that day and I stayed until the final whistle rather than leaving when we were 2-0 down. Listening to this really captures it.
Marvellous scenes! I must have sounded something like the commentator as I spontaneously leaped off my mates sofa and punched his light fitting off the ceiling in celebration..... :)
I love this video, puts a lump in my throat every time :) CTID

I experienced this via Alan Green on Five Live. No pictures but astonishing all the same.

is there any more of the commentary on the web? Like the moment Nicky Weaver saved the penalty?
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years. And we're facing Pulis again! aaaah I hope it's as good!
