i cant think of anything that would use 8 gbs, i have 6 and even when i run like all 50 programs at once, it barely uses over 4, so having eight seems a bit useless for me!

plus 24 isnt the highest, you can get 32 on some motherboards! or maybe more (the mac pros can upgrade to that much, not that im a mac fan, i'm just saying)

DDR3 runs at a much higher speed: I'm pretty sure that ddr2 runs at 800mhz and ddr3 runs at 1066mhz. Much faster :)
