  • @Feistycadaver I can't even remeber posting on this video or why i needed this program lol...I have a shocking memory lol

  • Nvm solved the problem lol

  • when I tried to download the driver it wouldnt open

  • do i have to keep in test mode?

  • thank u!

  • My ethernet controller driver isn't there in device manager.

I have Vista 32bit. My Desktop is Acer Aspire X1700.

I don't have a clue how to install drivers etc from their site. Can anyone help me?

  • @Bammer958 You can download your driver here:

    tinyurl . com / vistalandriver

    (No spaces)

The download will be a in a ZIP archive file. Just double-click on it and locate the nvunrm file. Double-click on that file to execute and install your drivers. You may need to extract the folder in the ZIP file first and then run the file as an admin (Right-Click -> Run as administrator)

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS Hey thank you very much it worked

  • A video is always much more useful than a text. Your video just made it in my favorites!

  • Thanks

  • how do i get out of test mode

  • Should be a watermark removal function in the program demonstrated.

  • Cool method, but how would I use it for the Realtek AC'97 audio driver?

  • Is there any way I can get the test mode text that is on my desktop background off?

  • The applications should come with a Watermark remover that removes the text after applying and rebooting.

  • Hi there im having a problem with peerguardian 2 im running windows 7

32 bit with the PG2 rc1 version and peerguardian is not blocking ips it stays at blocking 0 ips it always fails downloading updates and error contacting url i followed a tutorial on adding bluetack lists to the list manager in peerguardian then peerguardian crashed and when i restarted the computer it started again but stays at 0 ips blocked it fraustarting any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • how do i make it work with windows 7 64 bit

  • The version 1.3b should be compatible with Windows 7.

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS it is now :). Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!!

  • awesome man...i'd always use the f8 but this one is easier.

  • Yea, I agree. Thanks though, I'm glad it was useful to you!

  • hey thanks alot bro . genius pure genius yes indeed .

  • i was just wondering but could i just download the peer guardian version for xp/2003 b/c i have windows 7 and i don't like using the driver enforcement thing and if i installed peer guardian version of xp/2003 on my comp would it work fine? please respond thanks

  • You could try running it in compatibility mode however, I don't think it would function properly as the IP Filtering driver may not be compatible with IPv6 and several other different aspects of the Vista/Seven releases. I recommend trying Peer-Block. It's based on the same source code but more updated with support for Vista and Windows Seven, even x64 I believe.

  • Alright, i'll try that thanks. So basically i'm guessing PeerBlock is like Peer Guardian but better and with better support for vista/7, safer, and more reliable?

  • Indeed, I think that's a fair statement.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, that's what I just told him basically. I know I prefer it over the original PG2. Granted, the source it based of that of the PG2 it feels much more stable, responsive, and has a few extra features I enjoy. It's what I use to this day.

  • so there's not much difference then , thanks for the quick reply

  • it works in test mode but is there away to make it work out side of it ? i cant seem to get it to work after i leave test . i tried doing the same thing but no test mode and it doesn't work.

  • Honestly, there isn't much difference between normal mode and test mode aside from the water mark and the fact that you can use unsigned drivers. Their is a watermark removal function with the tool but I haven't tested it.

  • Mushroomheadbager please check out my video i need help i tried to put it as a video response but idk what hapened

  • It was pending approval. I approved it for you though.

I appreciate you taking the time to make Screen-Recording and video for help. Makes me more obliged to take time to help out as much as possible. I approved the video and posted my recommendations. If you have any additional questions or comments just reply back to the comment on your video.

    Good-Luck!

  • now im able to go in peergurdian 2 but it doesnt work, it is blocking 0 IP's do u know y?

  • Have you added the Blocklists yet? You'll need to go into List Manager and manually add them. Once you have done so update them.

I currently use Peer-Block now which is compatible with XP, Vista, and Windows 7 (Has a signed driver too). Plus it's an updated release and has never crashed on me yet.

  • THX!!!

  • How do you uninstall? or make the text from the screen

  • Great videos man. I've been trying to get Peer Guardian to work for about 2 weeks now. I have Vista and it installs but it just doesn't work. When I try to update P2P, Spyware, etc. it says error contacting url and then PG2 doesn't work at all. Any thoughts on this. Thanks.

  • Sometimes that error can occur because one of the lists blocks the IP needed to get the update. I have had that occur before. Keep in mind that the PG is in Beta still I believe (Or RC maybe) for Vista but other then that...Perhaps a firewall issue. Also ensure that you have it Enabled and the settings chosen to display Blocked IPs. The IP's won't show until your doing that something that involves one of those IPs though.

  • will this method affect anything else on my computer like screw up programs or cause my computer to crash. i just want to know that it is safe

  • No, there aren't any negative effects besides the small text that says Test Mode but the very program used in this video has a feature to remove that watermark. It's safe though.

  • i cant remeber where but i heard that they are currently working on the next edition to peer guardian which i believe they said that it will be called peer block, they have aquired a driver so we should be able to download a supportable version for all of us 64bit vista users in the near future.

  • Ah, Nice. I checked it out. It appears to be Open-Source too. There are quite a few alternates to Peer-Guardian but if I see anything beyond the x64 signed driver difference for this version then perhaps I will give it a try. Until such time I am content with Peer-Guardian. Currently works on my x64 system.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • do you know any other programs that are similar to peer guardian that are good that run on 64bit

  • Well I tried using Blocklist Manager and Protowall but didn't think it was as good as Peer-Guardian. Plus I used it on a 32 Bit Architecture so it seems PG holds the trophy as of now.

  • cool thanks. i just needed something for the moment until the new peer guardian is complete

  • Well you could always do as I did in this video and use Peer-Guardian 2 for Vista? It's compatible on a x64.

  • Great video i love it but how come when i restarted my laptop in my backround on top it says Microsoft windows bulid sefice pack 2 and on the right and left and bottom left and right it says test mode how do i take does words of please help.

  • This is to ensure the user is aware that they are in Test-Mode. The application used to load into Safe-Mode also has an option to remove the WaterMark. I never had success with it but you can try it and see if it works for you.

  • what if i dont want the test mode?

  • Unfortunately that's the only method I'm aware of at this time but really the only noticeable difference of running in Test-Mode is the small text saying Test-Mode. Of course, you could avoid updating to Service Pack 1 and possibly avoid it which I don't recommend.

  • i got sp2 and how can i turn this off? just when i dont need it?

  • You can turn Test-Mode on and off whenever you want using the utility demonstrated in this video.

You need it on whenever you run an un-authenticated driver though.

  • 1 question Remains....

    Can you bypass my Pants?
