Well the concept is great but the video is lacking.....one important detail. Either you need to explain what you are doing or have text on the screen. There are those that will watch your video and not not what Gesso is or how to use it. And you sitting there rubbing a tag with Gesso is not really explaining the process. I would take out the music and add text. It's really not that hard.
I love my distress ink, but the cost keeps going up. So I have started to get some of the same effects your getting with Bingo Dot Markers. sometimes I get them for two for a dollar, or a dollar. Not a great supply of colors, but I have done several pages and even used them like water colors. Give it a try some time, and they make great fire works effects, just tap them on the page and they splatter. With practice they are fun to work with. !
@wyt138 great idea with the bingo daubers... you can also pour those into spray bottles and also mix the colors, from color theory, to make other color options. Good tip! THANK YOU! Just thought I'd maybe give you one back. ;) Keep creating and passing on these cheaper ideas.... heehee
i hate to agree with someone who got comment rated *down* 3 times, but I'm a big ignorant as to what gesso is & how it works & what it can be used for - so what it is I'm seeing is all I can assume. Is it acting like a "resist" effect? Seems so, but then again - I could be wrong.
Too many vids may drag on and on with explanations that to some are obvious, but to newbies, it's not that obvious. I'd rather have someone explain stuff to me every now & then so I know what's up.
I liked this video---it was short and to the point; unlike a lot of these videos out here. As much as I do appreciate these technique/idea videos, sometimes they go on & on & on---next thing I know, I'm sleeping at the computer again....lol Thanks!! Great idea with the Gesso with Distress!
This is great, thanks for sharing! It doesn't say "how-to" under the category so I definitely don't think an explanation is needed! Haha. But I thought it was really obvious what you were doing, the title actually says it all. :) This is a clever idea! I love the look, thanks again!
I search all day trying to find new techniques and stuff. I think you're missing the point of makeing this video. You want to share the technique don't you?I love the music but I have no idea what you're doing.Would have been nice if you explain with music as background.
I seriously love this ' no shi*t ' 'video. I am sick of spending precious time looking at goddam obvious stuff. Love your style and music is awesome. More, more MORE!
Thanks for this video.Because I am already familiar with Gesso and distress ink, I knew instantly what you were doing.I do understand when others are saying they don't understand but there is no use of being rude and say things like its worthless because, to make this video and to uploaad it is a task in itself.I know because I have been there too.So asking politely for instructions could be something you guys could think about.Anyway,I like this background you have achieved here, its brilliant!
@Tassycrafty DITTO!!!! !I second that! And also knew exactly what was going on with the gesso, being that acrylics is my first love. ;) Not to mention that what she is doing and using IS in the description. haha Let's all show a little more love to our comrades of the art community, in general, eh? ;)

Thank you for adding the instructions-- I have to agree with the others, it's not very instructional when it's just you doing something and there's not indication of what exactly you are doing. I'm to the point where any video that starts playing music I just skip- because 9 times out of 10 it won't be worth it!!
Thanks for the instructions- next time please talk or add text. Thank you!
Okay, it is very simple, first you put some gesso (thin) on a card or tag, after drying, you sponge different distress colours on the card (or tag) with a sponge. After all you take a babywipe or any wettowel and wipe carefully over the card, the colour on the gessofields gets away, so you can make a interesting background.

This video is worthless without words. How are we supposed to tell what you're doing with what product? There is no way to see whether there's drying time involved, etc. This looks like good information, but if you're too lazy to speak or provide written instructions, it's all useless to your would-be audience.
good video. do you know the name of the music that comes with your video? thanks. Yolanda

Love what you did with the gesso and distress ink and the short amount of time in which you showed it.

I'm going to assume that you let the gesso dry before inking..because that would make the most sense.

This is worthless. Either speak or include written instructions. Otherwise, this is NOT instructional.
