How else could so many people read the Bible and not catch it somewhere in the 56 books of God's word to us? It's part of the human condition to become the prodigal son time and time again. Very powerful song. Trying to teach my children to follow the path of righteousness and not worldliness is difficult but so rewarding. Everyday the Lord gives me moments to teach though.
I too found this song, in the midst of my hardest spiritual trial, and I weep like a child every time I hear it......for His Love is endless, I have walked through the darkest parts of the valley, and He was their with me everystep of the way. Legalism, is being bound to a certain routine or religious practice in such a way that you are unable to forgive yourself and others, or to worship the Lord freely, as He is meant to be worshiped. For example, lighting a candle everyday and saying prayers OR ELSE the Lord won't love you, THAT's legalism. Not to say there's anything wrong with lighting a candle and saying a prayer, but when we make it a condition for receiving the Lord's love and mercy, then it is legalistic and un-biblical.

I could refer to the Bible a lot here, but I want to share my experience - addictions are not unknown to me, but now I see that all the afflictions, which broke me so many times, hardened me and, when the time came, I had a vision about the devil's plan for Europe. Ridiculous as it sounds, after that, God simply gave me freedom. Now, I know I have to write a book, because there is a spiritual battle ahead of us all - men and women of power and influence will rise soon on both sides. Be on guard.

i don't know how God puts up with me.That's the marvel of his grace . I constantly fail and let God down and fall back into old habits and i think God must be sick of me asking for forgiveness yet again. But the other night as i was telling God how i just can't seem to change and i keep doing the same old things, i felt this love. its hard to explain, it wasn't like a warm feeling. I just could strongly sense that i was loved. I so love having God as my Father since my dad died.

How else could so many people read the Bible and not catch it somewhere in the 56 books of God's word to us? It's an experience unlike any other and one meant to be treasured forever - until we met him in heaven where we will live in His perfect love for eternity. Praise God!

whenever i struggle i say the lyrics. I didnt have the song but i had the lyrics and this song is truely God speaking to not just me, btu all of you! It shows how we are not perfect, but God is always willing to love and stay with us. To hold our hand even when we don't feel it. i had no one my family had alot of physical and sycological problems my nan and gramps are christians they used to take me to church when i was young and i didnt understand it and i grew apart from jesus back then i fell into drugs and ended up with mental problems myself i gave my life to jesus a year ago and i havnt been more mentally right and happy than i am now my family is being brought together through prayers and hope which jesus my farther has given me love you my heavenly farther

It's part of the human condition to become the prodigal son time and time again. Very powerful song. Trying to teach my children to follow the path of righteousness and not worldliness is difficult but so rewarding. Everyday the Lord gives me moments to teach though.

Agape love... do you know it? It is difficult to live without. Many people struggle and hurt and are alone. Sometimes it helps to just be loved for who you are. Anyway, that is why many Bible huggers preach. They really are people huggers.

I have to agree with you... It is Beautiful Music... I also have a problem with being "religious". Love doesn't come from rules and expectations but from the heart. Religion can distract people from truly loving each other. In this song, it shows forgiveness. We all have things we feel that we can't be forgiven for... Here he talks about feeling loved even if he doesn't feel worthy. It's a Beautiful Song...

Subfightr: I often feel the same way, although it's not so much religion as it is legalism that I have a problem with.
I guess the Bible doesn't literally say "God believes in you". But it's what it comes down to. Some Bible verses:

Philippians 4:13
1 John 4:9-10
But don't forget that God will only save those who believe in Him and love Him!

Legalism, is being bound to a certain routine or religious practice in such a way that you are unable to forgive yourself and others, or to worship the Lord freely, as He is meant to be worshiped. For example, lighting a candle everyday and saying prayers OR ELSE the Lord won't love you, THAT's legalism. Not to say there's anything wrong with lighting a candle and saying a prayer, but when we make it a condition for receiving the Lord's love and mercy, then it is legalistic and un-biblical.

I could refer to the Bible a lot here, but I want to share my experience - addictions are not unknown to me, but now I see that all the afflictions, which broke me so many times, hardened me and, when the time came, I had a vision about the devil's plan for Europe. Ridiculous as it sounds, after that, God simply gave me freedom. Now, I know I have to write a book, because there is a spiritual battle ahead of us all - men and women of power and influence will rise soon on both sides. Be on guard.
