  • at 1:36 is he playing the melody with one hand and the delay with the other hand or is the delay programmed?

  • @ppdan The delay is programmed into the Jupiter 8, the synth he's playing the melody line on.

  • I had the pleasure to see Howard in Belgium (at the Cirque Royal in Brussels) I think it was in 1984 or 1985. I knew all his songs by heart. Wonderful! He has always been my favourite singer! And my favourite group is Tears for Fears.. Howard, when do you intend to come back to Belgium? I'm waiting for you!

  • 2 people need to replace the batteries in their hearing aid.

  • Hier wäre ich gern dabeigewesen, schade nicht wieder zu erleben...

  • Howard Jones. The anti-Johnny Rotten.

  • who

  • What a freaking master!!! I think his lyrics had a hidden meaning: Don't be fooled by what you see (his looks) and don't be fooled by what you hear (synth pop). At least that is one of the messages I got from this song. Be the best you can be.

  • I never realised he was such an amazing keyboardist and performer.

  • 4:52 to 5:47 is supremely amazing! Love the little twelve bar blues refrain he sticks in.

  • he started the hard way. after his wife had an accident. used the money to start him off. legend

  • I'm not gay, but hey: am I falling in love?

  • With John Lithgow?

  • fantastic!

  • makes me feel like an aged slapper

  • goile poppermucke

  • Glad i watched the whole thing. Excellent

  • I loved his music when I was at school I appreciate his talent and he's an all round nice guy not a pretentious bastard or a Paedophile like Michael Jackson.

    Keep rocking Howard

  • Insane version.....thanks for the post

  • Man, Howard Jones can really play! Hard to say about most music acts in the 80s that were popular.

  • My hair was like that in the mid 80's!

    it's called the teezmullet

  • I can't imagine all the programming he had to endure, especially back then. Besides the great music, programming all those modules requires a talent that most people don't recognize.

  • I cannot understand why this comment has been rated negative...

Obviously the one who did it has no idea how much work is hidden behind the programmings for such a great performance.

christopher6373,i totally agree 100% with your comment.

The best music ever has been written in the 80s,Howard is one part of it...

  • @chrigu70 i totally agree. im 25 and i also believe all the best and most unique music came from the 80's. and right round 1:32-1:140 he does so much sh*t to have the ability to mulitiply think about that while everything is going on and have the musical coordination is very remarkable. i almost wonder if he has manic bipolar disorder.

  • Especially the DX-7!

  • this music is beutiful very good i am peruvian and always admired to howard jones congratulations

  • Howard est le plus grand ! S'il vous plait revenir a Connecticut.

  • ACE !!!!

  • Fantastic! Howard is really hot! Not only when he sings, but also when he plays the piano --- especially playing more than one piano at the same time! he is so hot!

  • the announcer really set the tone for me!!

  • super muza słuchałem tego pana w latach 80tych.

  • Great! Howard LIVE! Never got the chance, this is better.

  • Howard is a legend and always will be.Thanks for the music Howard......................

  • Could the TV announcer sound any less excited?

  • Love Howard Jones, and Jed.....

  • OH WOW - I went to see him at this Gig and it was great - there was a fantastic version of 'Hunger for the flesh'

    thanks for posting it!

  • wish i was that talented, i sadly had hair like his and nik kershaws at one stage.....

    bleached and all

  • Greta to see him do this live. And he plays everything himself, the bass with his left, the main melody and other sounds with his right. Only the drums and that funky arpeggio come from the sequencer. Talented man. And a classic song!

  • Playing the bass with the left at the same time as melody and singing is amazing to me. Talent is right.

This song always makes me happy when I hear it!

  • howard rules

  • YES `'~"^0^"~'`

  • howard jones still a really kool guy ,still love his music loads

  • love his hair!

  • howard Jones, no one does it better.

  • True artist!, not like the modern music of fool tatooded people of nowadays.

  • howard jones is the man, sheer brilliance in all he does and what a show he puts on,excellent stuff,a pleasure to watch, many memories floodin back to me now, cheers

  • hmm seriously? Show me a picture. I'd like to see that! :D

  • Easily one of his best songs.

I saw him live in the US in the 80s and it was a grand show.

I also spent much money, time and desire, to try and get my hair like his in the 80s. Never even came close!

  • cool :D

  • Boy, Howard certainly can tinkckle the ivories! and I for one never tire of hearing or seeing him do it!
