i wish they wrote more songs like this, if they still made songs like the say it like you mean it album they probably would have been even a bigger band, but the god damn lable they sighned to made them change, but they made the based on a true story album the best they could, & the direction album when u listened to it you felt proud cus they were happy with what they did with the album & its what the bands choice in direction that made it A great album but i wish they were still like this

I mean eventually Kenny isn't going to be able to sing like a teenager, and they grow out of the adolescent confusion. I think Direction is a really good album, and I would draw comparisons to The Get Up Kids album "Guilt Show". Both come at the end of a long line of records that document their coming of age, really... Both are much more mature than their predecessors, imo. peace

their tempo used to always be faster, than around 2004 they started playing normal and even slower than usual. they said playing over 300 shows a year at super fast speeds can wear you down a little. i wish they still did.

but it is. I have been apart of The Starting Line's fansite and email list since 2002. I remember when the went to do a UK tour with Reel Big Fish in early Spring of 2003, they posted on their website that Mike had been sick for the first part of the tour. They had their friend Aieren fill in.
