  • Good stuff but his best was about 10 yrs earlier!

I know that will upset some, but his true friends would agree!

  • Soul, passion, genius. Rest in perfect peace.

  • this makes me feel so human, so connected to others. we have all had our hearts broken, and i cried. and i held empathy for others during this, realising i am not alone. love is the greatest and at the same time can rendure us still.

  • wow!

  • Beautiful, beautiful song

  • What a waste of a talent, what an incredible song, every ounce of his body is in it and u can feel it fibrate his hurt around your ears.

Incredible way of putting your heart into a song.

    RIP big man.

  • @irishyop Far from a waste my friend, he has more studio albums than most solo artists and he is forever embedded in the memories of those who know him and those who have yet to discover him as an absolute legend and musical genius. I'm glad he was never polluted by the commercialism of the industry even though he tried to break through it, he had to much heart and soul for such a cold and callus platform.Hendrix was a waste, 'coz he didn't get time to mature.from paddy to another :)

  • Here's hoping the hurt has gone, rest peacefully big feller. With luck I will see you somewhere, sometime. Thanks.

  • for over 30 years i have always had to come back here, to this, this isn't a song its a man pleading for his soul

  • my dad used to play a lot of john martyn and other artists, i seem to learn more about him and me everyday, its a crazy world but yet so beautiful... i gotta get my dividence

  • Love you John. See you at the next big gig.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I'm always addicted to this song, no matter someone leaves you or not. Someone always leaves you, soon or later. Now, it was Jonh indeed

  • I swear, when he says "Try to save it from breaking," he's about to break down into tears. I know I did.

  • a real song with guts, real feeling, really the best

  • I'm a hip hop fan but I dont understand how anybody couldnt love this song or at least the passion.

    This isn't seanclinton123, It's Kalim18.

    R.I.P John! <3

  • Grace and Danger the best break up album ever. Got me through some bad times last year I can tell you

  • How good is this man?

  • even if you cry everytime you hear this song it is still one of the most powerful/beautiful experiences you just cant denie.

  • He was a true star.Beautifully written and performed. He was my biggest musical influence, and I feel bloody lucky to have even heard of him.

    Thanks John.

  • magic...xx

  • This song makes every hair on my body stand on end and the tingle up the back of the neck. The most talented scottish musician i've ever heard. Wish I'd seen the great man live! R.I.P big man knowing your music lives on

  • Powerful emotional performance -Rip John

  • cheer up. Theres kids dying in Africa

  • I saw him on the Grace & Danger tour in Glasgow 2008 - his last before he died. The whole place was in tears when he sang this, as was I. This is the album that introduced me to him and somehow it seems fitting that he left me 'on that note' too. God love you wherever you are Big Man. RIP.

  • a beautiful soul comes out in song--he will be so sorely missed........

  • I just wept. My girl left me - two months now. Can't stop listening to this. NEVER MIND THOUGH, EH???!!!

  • I did the same for many Months. This song didnt bring Beverly back to John or my girlfriend back to me but to love someone so much is never the less special . we never know what its all good for. Chin up mate. George

  • Thanks :)

  • I will never tire of this man. What a great rendition of a tremendous song.

  • it makes me shiver...

  • One of the greatest voice ever!

  • Every time, every time I hear this I cry. Ianmcgeachy says it so well. John's music trancends everything, this version of this song, with that guitar solo. its just stunning. Nothing else matters when you listen to him. Thank you for posting this. I still can't believe he has gone. God bless you John. God bless

  • Aye, that was John Martyn. And on this one, a powerful performance of one of his most powerful pieces of music. The guitar solo also at the end of this is one of his best ever on an electric. Notice too: even though he has his mate Alan Thomson and also Max Middleton onstage, he still seems somehow seems 'alone there' -he always does to me. But frankly, this seems more than just a 'performance'. Look at his face near the end...this blokes for real.

  • I was once utterly addicted to this song. just b4 splitting up my girlfriend we watched this 2gether and both had tears running down our faces - we knew what was coming and this is how it would feel.

  • @mckayuk That comment right there, I felt like I can relate to that.
