At the end of round 5, Klitschko walks slowly back to his corner with his head hung low. It's a look that says "I've hit this guy with everything I've got and he's still there hitting me with bombs - I don't think I'm gonna win this". Vitali may have been "upset" at being stopped but I don't think he would've lasted more than another round or two - he was hanging on a lot towards the end and Lennox's uppercuts were finding their mark in the clinches.

But during that time before, Lewis was still the heavyweight champion, what do you think he was doing? He was still training just like any other champion boxer. I look at records and I analyze them, I even read boxing history as well as techniques, training methods and all that. You do any of that? Or do you just watch the fights? @TheArkham13asylum - Don't just watch the fights and read the news and what people say, read interviews and see it from various angles. Don't just just a fight! Lewis, if he come back and fight Vitali again, and if he won there will be more challenges wouldn't it? And Lewis knew that his legacy is complete. Continue fighting would only ruin him and if he fight, he would have nothing to prove. He already beat the best the era has to offer. Don't just talk about it...

@FSMNoodlyAppendage Lewis was 37 years old! he was winding down after holyfield II and only waiting for tyson, after that why would he put himself at risk again?. Whats really annoying is lewis fought against klitschko how people had always wanted him to; without holding back as he knew it was his last fight, he destroyed klitschko's face and people still doubt the outcome.

Lewis did get away with the win, but remember he was 37 at the time.

But the way he busted up Klitschko's face was savage,

he looked like he had been hit with an axe, and couldn't see, he needed over 30 stitches to put his face back together. The ref and Dr did the right thing to stop this fight. I would of liked to see a rematch too, But Lewis is a smart man, he knew he was getting old, so he went out on top as champ.

AMAZING fight. I've never seen such big men go at it like this ever since.

I, and I think alot of other people, lost alot of respect for Lennox Lewis when he immediately retired aftewards, though. Very cowardly.

Vitali did WAY more than enough to get another shot. A rematch should have happened, no question.

@FSMNoodlyAppendage - What does he have to prove? Lewis only trained for a week before he was told about the fight. And he was training to fight an easier opponent - Kirk Johnson. So what if Vitali beat an old 37 years old Lewis who has proven everything and probably have no more hunger in him. He was the one that many fighters ducked, an old George Foreman would fight Tyson, but not him. He stated that he didn't want no part of Lewis. Tyson, on the other hand didn't want to fight Foreman...
