  • algunos de ustedes maricones me puede decir cual es el tema de la cancion

  • MOON!

  • she was absolutely amazing.

  • i wonder if she has met Iron Man..

  • Meryl Streep for an Oscar, im absolutely shocked The voice the facial expressions just identical. She is brilliant!!!

  • What's the name of the song?

  • @Fattycakes19 the song is Welcome to Lunar Industries - Clint Mansell - Moon OST

  • just watched this movie and all ican say is meryl you are pure brilliance

  • It's better the Uk trailer!!

  • a la mierda con la dama de hierro, las malvinas fueron, son y seran argentinas

  • What's the song playing in the background? Nice beat to it

  • i loved this film! u can watch it online if u want on lifesgood.info

  • A superb performance by Meryl Streep. The Iron Lady is worth seeing alone for her performance. However, it focuses entirely on Thatcher’s decline and her grieving for her late husband Denise. This film feels rather insensitive, and intrudes on something that is personal. The Iron Lady this was not.

  • street partys soon

  • looks shit, all these boring fucking movies are nominated for awards, like the kings speech, ect, they are just fucking boring.

  • @WildRover92 rum diary and the girl with the dragon tattoo also boring never got awards or will cause they are a the new hip thing, each to their own also I didn't find it boring found kings speech and the iron lady to be interesting

  • “I may be persuaded to surrender the hat. The pearls however are absolutely non-negotiable!” “That's the tone that we want to strike”.

  • hmm thats a no no on the pearls then

  • you call this a trailer? This was not even a fucking conversation. Blasphemy.

  • I can go on and on about this woman in this role. I have never been more impressed with a performance in a film more than I was with her in this. Yeah Thatcher might have come off a bit more human, sympathetic and admirable than she really was. But what Streep did here will be talked about and studied in classes for years to come.

  • Who was she?

  • its a crap film, a crap script, and doesnt catch her at all!

  • She is so amazing! Outstanding acting talent!

p.s. I love this music! BTW In my opinion the film Moon where it was originally used is good either.

  • Thatcher looked like my kindergarten teacher. She made damn good cookies.

  • So annoyed they cut the 'that's the tone we want to strike' line out of the film!

  • The amazing Meryl Streep, amazing music, amazing trailer, but Tatcher herself..oh well!

  • the misic is from a film called moon and its by Clint mansell

  • What's the music called please?

  • Comment removed

  • who wants to watch a movie about that old bitch?

  • @TheReporter121 I do ;)

  • finally today comes out december 30!! the best to close 2011

  • "The broad mass of a nation... will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one"

    Adolf hitler from Meinkampf

  • I do hope this film doesn't glorify what that woman thatcher did to our country! I'm sure meryll is great... Thatcher is not!

  • Ab-so-lute-ly fabulous acting!!!!

  • Merl is too amazing for words.

  • woman's a chameleon

  • I'm sorry to come across as a boring historical pedant, but what is the deal with that television set? It doesn't look like a TV from the 70s, or is it? And what's that underneath, a 1970s DVD player?!

  • @SteppenwolfHarryHall

They're both anachronistic. The player is definitely a 1980's VHS. However, this conversation would definitely have taken place before the 1979 election, when video players were both rare and top-loading with 'piano key' controls and no digital display.

  • I don't think anybody knows what Meryl Streeps real voice sounds like :)

  • meryl streep is a great comic - does hilarious caricatures , this is no exception.....

  • LEGENDARRYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT DOUBT THEE GREATEST ACTRESS.

  • Loool this is like something that the comic strip have come up with

  • Once again, Meryl Streep SHOCKS me with the brilliance of her portrayal. She sounded and looked so completely like Margaret Thatcher that I did not realize it was Meryl Streep until the end of the pub!

  • and the academy award for best actress goes to..., Merle Streep is flawless in this warts and all bio of the Iron lady. What a bloody great actress she is...

  • @18rebecca88 there are movies about hitler and stalin too. so why can't they make a film about a so called "monster"? i don't understand your logic. she is a historic figure and therefor it is valid to make a movie about her. you can criticize the outcome and the tone of the film, but we have nothing yet besides the trailer.

  • Some people really can't differentiate between a controversial leadership and a malicious intent. It's pretty much inhumane. Same crowd that likens Reagan to Hitler. Give me a break, losers.

  • @BrotherAtticus I have never heard anyone liken Reagan to Hilter. Hitler was smart.

  • @pudgeuncle Does your levying of a (weak) joke mean you have no answer? Fine by me.

Besides, since the "evil" Reagan managed to trick everyone into granting him the second-highest approval rating of all exiting presidents, he must have been a smart man indeed.

  • @BrotherAtticus I wouldn't liken Reagan to Hitler, but I do think Reagan got way too much love for how big a dick he was. He set the scene for all these neoconservatives to enter, like Bush Sr., who set the ball rolling for our current financial problems by deregulating the finance sector & initiating tax breaks for the richest... the money we lose every year on those cuts could finance the wars we are in TWICE OVER.

  • @myplaceintime You only said Reagan "set the scene" - for policies he did not, in fact, entirely espouse. But why demonize the man? I consider Reagan a flawed hero of mine, but like everyone's fav Jon Stewart said in interview, there is no need to amplify everything to the urgency of "evil" (or, mind you, call a man a "dick") the way we do nowadays. I've read Reagan's personal writings, and he was no such thing. Some things just got lost in translation to the whole political game.

  • I don't like the teeth- but I have complete faith in Streep, not Thatcher

  • Don't 'Hang the Deejay'

  • Is this music from the movie?

  • @ftrpictures the song is called "Welcome to Lunar Industries" from the movie 'Moon'

  • finally a comedy worth it's money. best comedy plot ever seen:

    HITLER IN DRAG

  • Well, I can't say that I like Thatcher or feel that her policies were the best for my country. What I will say, however, is that extreme policies didn't make this woman an idiot or a villian. It made her a powerful woman with a strong opinion, and for standing as the Prime Minster she became a benchmark for women's equality in the posh boys game of British politics. She's to be admired for what she stood for, not the ideals she represented... and to me, this film is an homage to a brave woman.

  • meryl streep. <3

  • She's good

  • Great film about a Great British hero.

  • @iainmac2 LOL

  • That's right!

    you should Iron the clothes.

    and go back to KITCHEN.

  • Why are they making a movie about another damn politician why not make a movie about someone that didn't lie cheat steal and fake there way to the top? Cinema these days..embarrassing.

  • @riskkybusiness. Hear! Hear! Someone call Hollywood about this fart movie idea!

  • @riskkybusiness She was a friend of Augusto Pinochet and did Northern Ireland no favours.

  • The only other actress to equal her talent is Cate Blanchet.

  • controversy sells xD

  • I'm looking forward to the graphic sex scene with her beloved General Pinochet.

  • ooOOOooh, cant wait to see this, wewt! it'll be nice to be reminded of what a true leader is in these muddy days.

  • and the oscar goes to...

  • Meryl Streep would definitely get awards for her impersonation. Seriously, they've done films on Hitler, on Nixon, on Bush. Why not Margaret Thatcher? What has she got that cancels her out? I don't know much about her policies but I know the effects she had left in England but that still doesn't cancel her out as an influential political figure. And those people who say that this film humanizes her: how can you tell? This is only a frigging trailer! The films hasn't come out yet!

  • I guarantee The Iron Lady box office sales will plummet. Who's going to pay money to see a film which humanizes and sympathizes with Margaret Thatcher? A woman who's most famous for being the worst and most ruthless prime minister Britain has ever seen. She sent our country on a phony war with Argentina. She ruined our country. Don't even get my started on the coal miners. I'm boycotting this film and I encourage anybody else to do the same.

  • @aidenmccloskey Its Meryl Streep, say no more!

  • Meryl Streep is so offensively ugly, I seriously don't know how she ever got famous, she makes me want to punch her in the face with her lack of facial aesthetic values. If this makes me a troll then I'm trolling boys, I'm trolling, and I can't stop trolling because this woman is so fucking ugly.

And regardless of whether he minded I despise the use of Clint Mansell's 'Welcome to Lunar Industries' for this trailer, Moon is much better than anything Meryl Ugly can star in. Trolling finished.

  • Ronald Reagan was a horrible, McCarthyite cunt; he supported "trickle-down economics that didn't work, cynically sponsored right-wing terrorists in Latin America, and ignored that fact that thousands of Americans were dying from Aids. And "great leader of the Cold War"? My arse: his cement-head belligerence probably entrenched Kremlin arms-race mentality. Instead we should be thanking Gorbachev and even the economic success brought by market reforms in China, for the fall of the Soviet Union.

  • Good use of Clint Mansell's Moon score, love that music \o/

  • God, she's good! So much like the real Thatch I had a panic flashback to the 1980s.

  • DAMN. Meryl Streep made me cringe lol she better win this year

  • I have no idea how people can make a film about such a monster. She left Britain in ruins, killed innocent people, put troops back in to Ireland, killed her own troops in the Falklands, made thousands of people lose their jobs for good reason. This thing does not deserve any thing, especially a movie.

  • @18rebecca88 Movies aren't only made about good people. She was still human, and my guess is the movie will bring up some of those issues as well.

  • @18rebecca88 Movies should only be about good things?

There's that saying, "those who fail to learn from history..."; if we don't examine Thatcher, how can we avoid her mistakes next time round?

  • @boiledelephant Britain just went out on a major strike the same shit that happened during her reign is now under a conservative government happening again. History repeats itself.

  • @boiledelephant If you want to examine Thatcher, boycott everything to do with this film. This film is going to humanize and sympathize with Margaret Thatcher. This is not a true representation or depiction of the woman who once ruined Britain.

  • @aidenmccloskey That doesn't make much sense. Humanizing a person who was, by definition, human, isn't a mark against the depiction at all.

If it were a *sympathetic* portrayal, then yes, there'd be a problem. But from what I've been able to hear and read, it isn't; it's already being praised for its objective and historical look at her as a person. Which is exactly what we need: a lack of bias.

  • absolutely she's gonna get the oscar for this, i bet my grandmother's breeches

  • She was good leader and to be a female leader must have been hard enough, Shes no Hitler and in modern western society people are going to be critical of different government policies and I don't blaim her for being pissed at the IRA if they tryed to kill me and my colleagues Id be pretty pissed. Should be a good film

  • @MasterSupernova You're a fucking idiot. From reading your comment you clearly know nothing about her reign in as prime minister in the 80s. You know nothing about the troubles in Ireland either. The IRA would have done the whole of the United Kingdom and Ireland a favor if they had successfully assassinated her.

  • Who's playing the 3 million unemployed?

  • @densaner77 The people on strike now in Britain it´s ironic that the movie is coming out in a time where there is a conservative government, and that is now experiencing the same thing that Britain went through during Thatchers reign.

  • @WARP10CK Thatcher's reign was far worse.

  • @aidenmccloskey Well Cameron has not PM for very long so who knows how it will end up

  • @WARP10CK. Yes the timing is impeccable. Conservative governments since 1979 have resulted in mass unemployment, destruction of the UK's industrial base, selling off national assets to foreign multinationals, increased inequality and riots. Labour are incompetent but the tories and Thatcher are pure evil. The reviews I have read of this film basically say it is a whitewash. There is no backstory of the damage she did to Britain or indeed a political justification for doing so.

  • @densaner77 I think we can use the 3 million unemployed we have today!!

  • @williamwills. Good point. D:

  • @williamwills If you believe government stats its more than 3 million, take into considertion students, people on welfare/benefits and people who are "part time workers" I assure you its way more than 3 million. Additional to this the uk will go into a recession, meaning property prices goes down and sterling is worthless. UK needs to SAVE money and not SPENT on shit like ipads and iphones and etc, and INVEST this into hard assets making CASH FLOW! VERY simple... you know!

  • @densaner77 lol... typical socialist. The MORE the government interfer in the FREE market the worse the country does. We need freedom market, free enterprise, free to CHOOSE and more rebust the economy will grow, resulting in better for the individual and the business.

If society puts EQUALITY before freedom will have neither, however society puts FREEDOM before equality have a good measure of both.

  • @yoyuepz Oh God, another one of the "new age" rightwing whackos who thinks the way to deal with the mess made by deregulation of the banks is to have er, less regulation.

    Keep up the medication.

  • @yoyuepz. Yeah typical socialist. I've been hearing the same crap for 30 years about the need to deregulate and allow the market a free hand. What do you think Reagan and Thatcher did? They did what you suggested in the '80s. The "freedoms" that come from policies like Thatcherism only benefit a tiny proportion of the population. Freedom to avoid paying tax for the wealthy and major corporations. Higher taxes for almost everyone else. That's Thatcher, Reagan and George W Bush for you!

  • @densaner77 I know what they did. And if UK followed the "labour" ways then during the 80s the country would have been in a more worse situation. It would have been bankruped. For example lets take a country such as China, less laws, free market, and lots of compeitiveness. Only the fittest will survive, if not then go bankrupted. But what does the socialist do? They support and fund banks which are failing, resulting in the TAX payer. Socialist are just a leacher of society.

  • @yoyuepz. China a free market? The Chinese government still control sections of their economy. They are actually still communists in some respects, like not allowing elections. Modern capitalists want a race to the bottom. They want workers in the west to be treated like slave workers in China. The UK Conservatives supported the economic policies of the Labour party until it went wrong. Socialists believe in giving people a chance. Conservatives want to grind them into the ground.

  • @densaner77

We can't afford to give every fucker chances like Labour have done and want to do It's one of the reasons your beloved socialist labour brought about the fucktastrophe from when they were in power.

  • @Ste0wnz. Yes and the greedy c*nts in the city had nothing to with the "fucktastrophe" that happened, did they?

  • @densaner77

Yes they did but what the fuck do you suggest we do and why? You 99% masturbation for the nation types like to go on about how the rich are getting away and the poor are paying for the rich's mistakes which is unjust etc but never actually state what to do about them and for what good reasons exactly. The bankers are cunts but what the fuck should we do? And what reasons would we give? Conservatives have added some bank regulation improvements which labour (who im knocking)didnt do.

  • @Ste0wnz. Okay. How about jailing the crooks who got us into this mess. Not bailing them out again. Privatise the banks but give the shares to the taxpayer instead of to the city sharks. Outlaw high street banks getting involved in dodgy city practices. Outlaw tax dodging "offshore" company practices used by Virgin etc. and make them pay their full tax bill, I have to! That enough? Yeah Labour was useless. You want reasons? Look around you!

  • @densaner77

Take shares from people who have already paid for them and "give" them to the taxpayer? The rest about outlawing and tax evasion you don't think every government wants to keep on top of that? Systems get abused you have an idea how hard it is to keep on top of a system to make sure theres no bullshit involved? And if they're privatised as you suggested then it would make it so much fucking easier to run riot.

  • @Ste0wnz. Yeah the taxpayer essentially bought the shares when the bank was bailed out. No the government doesn't want to keep on top of that. If it did Virgin etc. would have to register and pay tax in the UK. The banks will be privatised again it's just a matter of time. The question is who benefits? Ordinary folk who could get a few quid out of it or the rich b'stards in the city who caused it all in the first place. You sound extraordinarily naive. ;)

  • @densaner77

Yes but the tax payer wouldn't have had to bail the banks out if the banks were kept under a leash, something which is harder to maintain if privatised. And like I said Labour are behind it all as they let them run riot all champagne, cocaine, caviare. If privatised it'd be a harder job to avoid any bullshit happening again. And if privatised, should they fuck up we still have to bail them out anyway.

  • @Ste0wnz. They're gonna be privatised again. Deal with it. Giving shares to the people would be a safer bet than those c*nts in the city. Yeah I agree Labour were totally useless. The shares would give people assets in a time of economic slump. It might even boost the economy instead of the city fatcats. Yeah regulate the banks. Control their transactions but don't pretend they are going to stay nationalised for long.

  • @densaner77 Maybe they could use a fraction of them from Labour's time

  • @guyburns. Yes a small fraction. Perhaps..

  • Who's playing Pinochet?

  • @DaveUndertaker - Well said. Let's not forget The Iron Lady's devotion to torture loving dictators, kids.

  • Comment removed

  • Well she got the accent spot on.

  • @sanauthorised

its great but its not perfect Margret has such a distinctive voice B/W cant wait to see the film

  • and the oscar race is over!

  • England needs another politician like her.

  • @Reido2828 ....yes, Great BRITAIN certainly does. You wouldn't make a great politician with that mind set though...

  • @DonsWinger

    What mind set?

  • Here be trolls

  • VIEJA NAZI.!!! la reputisima madre que te remil pario.!!!!!!!

  • It's creepin' me out!!!! Like an Auschiwitz moment its creepin'me out!!

  • I love to read the comments from the men who fancied Thatcher when they were at public school!

Rub Rub under the bedsheets! Ha Ha

  • I mean...What an incredible talent...

Demonstrated time after time after time...

She absolutely gives a "soul", to every character she portrays.

    And masterfully so.

  • Thatcher was SO evil, but this looks like a good movie!

  • Hope it shows how we can learn from such a mistake as Thatcher...shame a British actrees could'nt play her (and not Dench, Walters, Mirren)Americans can do the English voice very well...but never get an accent within the English...a vital part of it

  • @wellohmeeeeeee due to the American cultural Invasion, the coolest english accent in the world is... the amercian one. The UK english sounds old and precarious, coming from a peripheral tribe. Any part of the England history should be told in American english. That's part of the price of losing an empire :)

  • @neoflyboy wtf are you talking about...example please.

  • @neoflyboy "coolest" is such a vulgar and overated expression...says it all really. Please define 'cool'

  • @neoflyboy Actually, we didn't lose the empire. The empire was pulled apart by successive demands upon our government, such as entry to the ECC and the US joining us as allies in WWII. And to say that U.K English sounds old, ironically that's because it is. It's a language made up of many, deal with it. Any country's history should be written in it's own language, the history of the British Isles can be written in English, Gaelic and Welsh. Don't tell us otherwise.

  • @neoflyboy You're a complete fucktard, aren't you? "That's the price of losing an empire :)" PLEASE don't tell me they teach you that in school.

You've clearly got internet access. Educate yourself.

  • @neoflyboy Actually I like the English accent better. Just a matter of personal taste though, because facts are I hate Imperialists anyway, be it either English or American! It's not like the US is succeeding at keeping their own Empire either. All which goes up eventually comes down.

  • well serves me well NOT to have an opinion

  • This is a travesty! This film company and all of the actors including Meryl Streep have no principles making a film that glorifies this evil woman. She destroyed British society and was responsible for murder when she approved the sinking of the Belgrano. Like Tony Blair she should be prosecuted for her crimes.

  • @crosscary Shut up you pissy little slobberdonkey. Most of us know Thatcher was a political tyrant. Doesn't take away from the fact that there's a story to be told here - regardless of how ugly it is. Nixon was a crook but he has a place in history and a small segment of that story should be told. Warts and all.

Your implicit call fro censorship is disgusting.

  • @Vulcanscienceacademy Yes. I'm sure there is a story to be told and if there is - let it be told! However, this film isn't going to do that. It's going to depict Thatcher in a way that's untruthful to the person she was. They're going to humanize her. Sympathize with her. We don't need a Hollywood version of Thatcher. This is going against the truth.

  • @crosscary She was the only high point in modern British political discourse since Churchill.

You people desperately need another Thatcher if Britain is going to survive the see the second half of the 21st century as a sovereign nation.

  • @crosscary the sinking of the belgrano was a lawful piece of combat within war. Research it.

  • @crosscary what would you say if they made a film about Sir Winston Churchill then? Because lets not forget that arguably our greatest war-time PM approved the friendly fire and the entire destruction of the French fleet in Oran!

  • Margaret Thatcher and President Reagan are two of the great leaders of the Cold War. fountainherz, you are out of your mind. This is going to be a great movie. Oddly, this trailer uses the exact same music from the movie "Moon".

  • Thatcher and her supply-side deregulated capitalism are responsible for England's mess, just as Reagan is to blame for America's.

  • wow voice is very very very cant wait .

  • This will gobble up oscars.

  • maggie thatcher,wanted for murder.

  • OMG OMG OMG

  • J.edgar V.S The Iron Lady, which shall be granted the gold piece of a tin man as an award?

  • Sad news about Margaret Thatcher today, she is still alive.

  • @noizy4 Wow, nobody's made that joke before....

  • Who better to direct a film about Mrs. T than the director of Mamma Mia!

  • Come back Maggie your country needs you to sort out the rifraf

  • Meryl is so adorable. She truly is a wonder.

  • Welcome To Lunar Indrustries much? With such a non-substantial trailer one could almost hope that they would at least use original music.

  • I will like the movie to see how she dealed with the hate which she absolutely deserved. I can't wait until she burns in hell. Go fuck yourself thatcher you cow. Burn in hell and say hello to hitler for me.
