The profile of Karega Mutahi suggests some training in Accounts would have helped him master the job of PS Ministry of Education where Billions of Shillings must be accounted for. The strongholds of Karega Mutahi are Theory of Linguistics and Kiswahili. Without prejudice against any profession, President Kibaki should look very carefully at the CVs of the persons he picks for PS positions. People from different disciplinary backgrounds do make good managers but Karega Mutahi was the wrong pick.
