dude you seem like a good person and probably the only thing that is bad in you is disbelieve in God trust me he had forgave me so much that he want you to believe also, and i am and I was probably worst person than you in my whole life.
I dont believe in God, and for me, Jesus was only a man, a good man, but only a man. But I respect all the religions, and this was a fantastic song, I loved the lyric and the meaning was really beatifule
C.S Lewis: A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher... Either this man was, and is, the Son of God.... or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool; you can spit at Him and kill Him as a Demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.
Marephrem, we have freedom in Christ as Galatians speaks of. David danced and sang out before the lord. In psalms, it say to make a joyful NOISE to the lord. The Bible speaks of shouting praises and such. In fact, the most appropriate place to yell or shout praises to God is at church! Because you are worshiping God. God said to make a joyful noise, that is what this worship team is doing and encouraging. We have joy and freedom through Christ. In him, true freedom can be found.
How is this different than any other concert? The words don't need to just be different, but the music, the clothes, the way we present ourselves, if we are truly going to be called after the name of our God: Holy. Holy and distinct from the rest of the world.
it is different than any other concert. You know why? because the place were anointed. The band was anointed. does it mean that they were not catering holiness just because everyone was jumping or the music were so loud? I don't think so. Any kind of music were meant to glorify God. Only the devil distorted its use. So people would think it's very unholy to use rock music for worship singing. Anyway only my view.
God is not partial, and holiness is not partial, it includes everything. That is why everything needs to be distinct and holy. The Holy Spirit is peaceful and calming.
You are kidding right. I looked at your videos, and Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus would not be considered holiness by your own standards. I guess I am a little confused.
Well first off Miley Cyrus was not in there at all. The difference here, is that I do not use these songs in worship. It is instrumental music for the background. But when I am coming before the presence of God in the House of God, I need to feel something distinct than that which is outside the world. It needs to be a Sacred place.
Everywhere is sacred because God is everywhere. He told Moses to talk off his shoes because he was standing on holy ground. My point with these non-Christian singers is that you need to look at their lyrics and their lives. God doe not us to have one standard at church and another outside of church. that is hypocriscy.
If everywhere is sacred and God is everywhere (which is true in one sense), then what kind of point are you making when you say that we should like at these singers' lives? Are you not saying that God is not present in them? Indeed God is omnipresent, but God enters and has entered the physical world. And His entry sanctifies the corporeal. The Lord Jesus Christ is God incarnate, and God came down to be a part of a specific nation at a specific time, born of a specific woman.
When we enter into God's house, we are entering into the presence of Holiness. There are certain things acceptable outside Church and certain things unacceptable inside Church. It is unnacceptable for me to yell in church. It is unacceptable for me to throw things in Church. It is unacceptable for me to have dinner at church. God consecrated the altars of the Old Testament because the men of old saw Him.
He united the tangible with the intangible, the Physical with the Spiritual, so that we who are of the flesh might see He Who is Incorporeal. That is when He becomes a part of a specific place at a specific time as we are. I do not disagree with you that we should live moral lives both outside and inside the Church, but there needs to be a sense of holiness.
That this is the place where the Body gathers to worship the Lamb, and even partake of His Body whereby we mystically unite with Him, granting us eternal life.
These things that you say are unacceptable, I believe that these things (maybe not all of them) but in general, are acceptable. If one is doing something (like hosting dinner) at church and it is for the glory of God, then why is it unacceptable? We go to church to worship, to have fellowship, and to give glory to our Lord. If it is for the Father's glory, is it that bad?
@marephrem, please get off of your self-built high horse. when we enter God's house, we enter into his presence, yes? Psalm 100:1 "Shout for Joy to the Lord, all the earth." Additionally, God uses food as a clear analogy of feasting with Him and enjoying His goodness and bounty (Ps.23, etc). God has no qualms about food and eating. In fact, we bring this into physical fruition through communion. No comment on throwing things though.
@uhohstop I meant in the altar, or in the chapel. I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't do this or that specifically, but my point is that what happens in Church should be distinct from other things we do. Sure throw a dinner at church (not in the chapel), sure have a party, sure play sports and sing all sorts of songs. All these things are fine when they are done in a Christian innocent spirit. But I mean Holiness needs to remain a characteristic of our core Christian worship.
This is not a show, or performance. It is worship. There is no standard set to it. Just because they sing the same style, and wear the same clothes does not mean it isn't AS holy. What matters is in the hearts of these people. The presence of God is in this place, and in everyplace where the people have the heart that is seeking. The setting is in our minds, and our bodies, not the physical surroundings. Church is a place of fellowship, warmth, and love.
Like his voice!! He should sing more of Hillsong's songs
