sadly yes it does not have a very long lasting battery....but depending on wear ur putting it shouldnt heat up reallllly badly....i mean if ur putting it on a bed or pillow...ya of coarse it will heat up...laptops arent made to be put on beds or anything soft.....hence the meaning (laptop) lol

@hkseo100 also, if you invest $20 in a cooler, it will be fine, i wouldnt even run it without one to save the cpu..i doubt the cpu has good thermal grease, might want to invest in some of that too..about the battery, most gaming laptops only have 2 hours max..nothing you can do about that

I have the same laptop, and I can testify to the heat. with a cooling pad the CPU hits around 63 when gaming (with a .3 ghz overclock though) and the GPU will hit 85-90c easy. It hit 94c once when I finished a 3 hour marathon of Crysis.

A cooling pad is a requirement for the G51.

To answere your question Lucirz I bought this laptop from best buy, and they have a protectionplan/warrenty you can buy from them, AS of asus im not sure.

and to the 64bit OS's well, 64bit xp was shittier than Vista64bit. but non the less its alright. Aslong as you dont have 2gigs running 64bit i think you will be ok.

If you can save $300 more, get the G71x, it has a 2.5 Gigahertz instead of 2, and you get 2 more gigs of ram, it's worth it for better gaming performance.
