@miguelzix i cut the wires to have more room to play with, for me it was too hard to reach in with a soldering iron and connect my two extra wires. i dont understand your second question.
@miguelzix i cut the wires to have more room to play with, for me it was too hard to reach in with a soldering iron and connect my two extra wires. i dont understand your second question.
@monster2221 you could put a fuse in line but it wouldnt do anything to protect the led's from frying. to protect an led you have to use a resistor. the resistor value depends on the highest voltage that your sub woofer can reach (voltage during the strongest bass).
@tmt2345 i am soldering the wires to each terminal of the sub/speaker, in short there should be already two wires that lead from the sub to the main board, i just add one speaker wire wire to each of the connection on the sub/speaker, remember the speaker wire is double meaning that it all ready has two separate wires in one, and that is were i connect my leds to , the wires that i have connected to the sub/ speaker terminals.
@monster2221 dood you're going to blow up the leds if you just connect them to a hi power amp it wuld be easyer to use a TIP 31 or TIP 120 transistor it provides beat synk and also you wont blow your leds
Bro you are very good, very nice video thanks a lot...But i need help!!please!!!I cant understand the part 1:20 - 1:35 ...Could you please help me??Where i will solder the speaker wire??I have logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z506
@tmt2345 well there should be two wires already connected to the speaker it self. you need to connect the speaker wire to each terminal that is on the speaker.

@lester2518 depending on how many leds you have hooked up and how bright you want them. For one led you will not need a resistor unless your sub is outputting a lot of volts. try one without a resistor, if it blows then add a resistor, maybe like 47k ohm resistor.
@sparkey u shit face do u see a amp. The power that the led forces back is less than .5 volts. They have nothing to worry about. And if anything were to happen, thats why they make fuses
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER connect anything other than speakers to your amp. That is the WORST thing you could possibly do. An amp expects a resistive load. When you put diodes (Light Emitting Diodes) across the outputs, you're asking for trouble. Not only can the LEDs burn up but they can also short out the amps outputs!!!! This is the RIGHT way - watch?v=uOw_Ynx1tGc
You forgot to tell that there is a positive and negative poles to LEDs as vell as speaker, and LEDs won't work if their positive pole is attached to the negative.
Before instaling and solder LEDs you have to test witch wire is correct.
I used this same principle to make light drums that work without batteries. Just play the drums and they light up! Check out my videos for kinetic light drums!
@haloass123 well the thing is that if u play ur music too loud there will be too much power going to the LEDs. So try turning ur music down. It might be hard because each song has a diffrent volume. If u have lots of LEDs than it's ok but if u have a small amount u have to be careful. Also u could add a ressistor. Hope this helped. Tell me how it works out.
@polozero7 I'ts not just my sub it's my speakers too. I used the stereo cable that came with the speakers and sub and connected that to my iPod. I hope this helped xD and if u have any questions just send me a message and if u do any mods to your speakers or subs send me a pic or video of the outcome. Thanks for watching!!!
@Beachroller the normal size of LEDs is 5mm thick and that's wat I used in the vid. The tube I think was 5mm too (Which is good) but if u want to be on the safeside u can use 4 - 4.5mm tubeing so water dosent get in or around ur sub. If u have any questions on how to do something just send me a messege.
Thanks for the tube idea! I never thought of that befor!! I usually just have led's hot glued at just the right angle towards the speaker! Thanks though! :]
can i do this with my car speakers?
motakaoj88 2 weeks ago
@motakaoj88 yes but the leds will either blow from too much power going into them (louder sound) or they wont light up at all from not enough sound

you think if you used a fuse in line with the LED's it would make them not blow up @ extreme volume?

@BIGGIEDEVIL yes you could do that, check my other video out for a different way of getting the same effect but without blowing the leds out

Just so we know, how many watts is going to that sub?
sharp69antifa 7 months ago
Doesn' that increase the impedance, so that the amp could be destroyed by "tuning" your speakers like that?
