Man, I just had a retro-gasm. I watched these back in 5th grade in 1993 and LOVED it. Got a few tears in my eyes. What a fantastic memory. The show is cheesy but who cares!
Looking back on this series, I wonder if Thorzuul was only making idle threats regarding the whole "Turning people to stone" schtick. Not once did he ever demonstrate that he could do it. I know it was for educational purposes, but if you want your protagonist to see the antagonist as a real threat, really bad things need to happen. Then when the hero enters the picture, people can root for him/her to prevail over the villain.
@ReeseKaine In episodes 1 and 5 (this one), you can see that he HAS turned some people to stone. He also (temporarily) turns Lexor to stone in episode 11.
Wow, this is like looking back at my childhood, oh btw I still remember an episode of this show, when either that boy or girl went to see a chef, and I don't remember what happens next.

man i miss watching this show. i used to watch this show when i was young, now that i'm older, that guy, thorzuul. isn't so bad. he used to scare me when i was young. now that i'm older, he's not that scarey at all.
omg, i remember watching this show way back during my childhood years in Canton, South Dakota. I've always hated that guy. man i miss old pbs shows like this one, and Once Upon A Time, Star Lore, I-sland Treasure, Square One TV, The Letter People, Mister Roger's (r.i.p) Neighborhood, Captain Kangaroo (r.i.p), Zoobliee Zoo, and Shining Time Station.
frano0k99, i would have to agree with you, because i used to watch this show at the farmhouse in Canton, South Dakota when i was young, now that i'm older, that guy thorzuul isn't so bad at all.

"Little girl, do you know who I am?"
"A big fat scary man?" HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Also, did I hear Thorzuul fart at time 12:09. Sounds like Thorzuul needs to lay off the cheese curds and the Blatz!
