Hi I'm the black lady playing slide. My name is Ann Hairston. I toured with LJ for 9 months playing percussion, bass, guitar and drums. After touring with LJ I toured with N'dea Davenport and Macy Gray. Prior to touring I was in the NY cast of STOMP.
Now I produce, remix and dj house music. You can check me out on Beatport under Annex. Thanks for asking!!!
I saw these girls live in 1997 in Charlotte when they toured with the band "Live". I think Fever In Fever Out is a great album from the opening note to the last. The production by Daniel Lanois is amazing. "When I see all my weakness, that I turned into sickness"...I love the lyrics on this song.
We in the UK were denied the chance to latch onto this excellent band, them being restricted to a few radio plays of Naked Eye, so I'm playing catch-up now
I would imagine that they were a household name in North America
@Strawberry7Lynn They were never a household name here in the U.S.A. but the best music is usually just below the radar in this country. This is one of their best songs in my humble opinion.
@operationmongoose1 What in the WORLD are you talking about? Luscious Jackson was all freaking over the mid-to-late 1990s, just perhaps not always on what was then a more pop-oriented list of top 40s.
@tacitgreen Relax, operations comment was correct. They were not a household name in the mid 90's. RHCP, Greenday, Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Nirvana etc were the staples. Not to say they were not great. I remember seeing them on Pete and Pete when I was 10 and falling in love with them.
What a great song. What a great band.

Esta es una de sus canciones más hermosas de Luscious. Y miren que tengo los discos y me gustan todas sus canciones.

That's fantastic! I caught STOMP at the Orpheum about around '99 and it was really fun. Wonder if you were in the cast.

Good song. This is the only band I know where the guitarist and bass player switch roles depending on the song.
