  • wow, ridley battle was ridiculously easy...

  • @jkl99jkl you gotta type in justin bailey before you start the game

  • @jkl99jkl i.e. "Justin Bailey ------ ------" And how the hell did I remember that?!

  • @jkl99jkl Because I entered the password to make it happen before the game starts.

  • So, I've never really understood this. Is Super Metroid a remake of this version? I mean, there's all the same bosses and locations in Super Metroid as there is in this game.

  • @incubus96 no its not. tourian was remade by space pirates after being destroyed (by samus in the NES game). reason everything looks the same is because it is the same planet for both games, planet zebes.

chronologically according to the backstory of the game events in both the metroid nes game and then the game boy metroid 2 return of samus games precede super metroid's.

  • @incubus96 No. The level designs of Super Metroid are completely original. Metroid: Zero Mission is the remake.

  • It's funny cuz in all the walkthroughs back then it always directed you to go to Kraid first but it's much easier to just head straight for Ridley and guarantee attainment of the best ending. If you can kill Kraid in one shot it is a big time saver to take him out right after getting the bomb but there's really no need. You can still get the high jump boots go for Ridley then go to Kraid and have plenty of time to see Samus in a Bikini.

  • I HATE THE MUSIC AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO.

    I HATE IT.

  • I remember repeatedly killing a Kraid clone, until I realized he was fake.

  • I love all the comments where people are turning up their noses at how small they were. This is the original, smart asses.

  • Damn how I loved this game. I remember faking sickness in middle school just so I could stay home and play it. The pages of the NES players guide that helped me out are permanently smudged with cheesy Doritos powder. I used to love discovering new secret areas with bombs, truly made me feel like a space explorer!

  • @flyguy773 My Mom is still mad at me for skipping middle school too.....hahahahahaha, memories.

  • sweet xD

  • why is ridley and kraid so small?

  • 7:22

-the Music always gave me the creeps in Arizona in the early 1987's

-Perfect & quite eerie for a video-game late at night while your family is all asleep.

While things creep out in the Warm Heated desert Night.

The remakes take away all that eerie spooky-ness of the old NES title.

-Like an 8 bit Monster would come out of the TV & kill you or something freaky, like that! seriously...

  • 9:41 Video game music history! When I played this back in '87 or '88 I get a real kick out of this tune. Really creepy and foreboding and surely one of the most recognisable tunes in any game ever. My feeling is that today's game music is much too much blown up to be really recognisable. But, hey, what do I old fart know!?

  • @tornhill1 its truly AMAZING!

  • is that zero suit samus?

  • What the... I don't remember Ridley being THAT easy...

Kraid, though... His damn belly-spikes are really annoying. Bombs are really the most effective way to kill him.

  • @Nack289 Probably becaude depending on the pattern of Ridley's fireballs, sometimes he'd shoot them right over you (like in this case) and you could stand right next to him, and kill him without him egtting a single hit on you.

Other times the Ridley's fireballs woiuld be right in front of him, making him much tougher to defeat.

  • samus don't look herself

  • I love this game.

  • has any1 read planet zebeth comic strips? they rock

  • lol now i check the why in super metroid is a mini Kraid in the room before the real Kraid, it's a joke for the people who played the this before. So they think oh yeah this is Kraids new design and when the big one comes they scream oh shit THIS IS THE NEW KRAID :D

  • wha.. what kind of lame excuse for a kraid is that?? well i can't really complain since this is the original, but fuck look at the new one on the related videos, he's like 10 times samus size, here he's just about the same size as her, he looks like some kind of mutated turtle

  • i just love the music at 11:41

  • lol typo i mean 10:41

  • i really want to know how does she shout missiles out that tiny pistol lol

  • A lot of things are better as classics. These boss fights are not. Still love the old game, but Ridley was pathetic.

  • This game still has the best music ever, down by the bosses. Its so spooky and mysterious.

  • why there's no magma after ridley?

  • wow metroid is as realy this old

  • 1986 and it still kicks ass

  • ...

  • ya i no im a nerd joe.

  • I'm boycotting your comment.

  • Ridley looked like he gave you less trouble than your average coat checkout

  • 000000 000020

    000000 000020

That's the actual Suitless Samus code.

If you used the JUSTIN BALEY code you would have like 5 energy tanks, a whole bunch of missiles, the Wave Beam, and start in Norfair I think. Actually there is more than one version of the JUSTIN BAILEY code and each one gives different results while still being able to play as Suitless Samus.

  • *question if anyone knows:

when you play as zero Samus, do you still have to get the varia suit, and her colors will change? and do you have to satrt the game with a password to start off as zero samus or do you find it, b/c I beat it with the normal varia suit

  • wash that little thing Ridley!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • the easiest ridley ive ever seen xD

  • ridley looks gay

  • Thanks for this vid, I couldn't figure out how to find Kraid without it.

  • Didn't know Kraid was so small. And he looks a lot like Bowser.

  • I never understood why Ridley was super easy in this one, but then really hard in Super Metroid

  • I never understood why kraid is so small in Metroid but he's frickin huge in super metroid.

  • i thought ridley was easy b4...this is just a joke

  • LMAO wow. Kraid is tiny and Ridley looks nothing like he does now...

I beat all platform ones from Super Metroid 3 to Zero Mission... Zero Mission is definitely an improvement heh. Unless some of you guys are huge fans of the NES version.

  • LOL RIDLEY LOOKS LIKE SPYRO XD

  • I wonder why they did this fart sound when Samus gets hit? Always makes me laugh when I get hit the first time after playing the game again after years. But great game!

  • I mean, Kraid may be small in the NES version, but the 8-bit Kraid's Lair music is the best Metroid song ever made xD~

  • I strongly agree on that.

  • As do I! I love it so much, a few years ago I totally used a music program to recreate it by ear. I LOVE IT!!!

  • What about the Big Boss theme from Super Metroid? the one that plays when you fight ridley and draygon? thats good to right

  • @ananiasjr Kraid may be small but he's a giant bitch. Way harder than any other Kraid.

  • @ananiasjr dont forget ridley is only a couple pixels taller than samus in this game too

  • Holy hell, I can't believe Ridley's ever been that small AND ugly

  • this is the first game both of them were in, maybe they were just baies back then, and grew up very quickly in the later games.

  • naw cause they called zero mission first mission, too.

  • but this is the first Game ! Zero Mission is uhm dont know the 4th game and its just a remake of the first game

  • But what about metroid zero mission,

they were'nt small in that one?

  • Ok ridley is a joke and kraid is so small but in super metroid he is the biggist boss in the game.

  • Back in the NES days, bosses the size of the sun, (exageration but you get the idea), were pretty much too much for the games of their time, where as when the SNES/Genesis came out, the designers tried to make bigger bosses/levels, etc etc, but yea, Ridley and Kraid in the first metroid = lame.

  • Woah, was that first Kraid always there? I never fought it before...

Something's always made me wonder though, why does Kraid have a battle music but Ridley just has the background theme.

  • It certainly looks like Ridley was almost an afterthought.

  • kraid looks like bowser in this game

  • Kraid is HARD in the original nes version

  • Wow.. Ridley you suck in this game :S

  • Can anyone help me it is my first time playing Metroid for nes and I am stuc... Do you get the ice beam in norfair or kraid?

  • I'ts in brinstar.

  • it looks like all Ridley does is jump and throw stuff at you... but they looked cute :D

  • zero suit samus turning into morphball?!?!

  • it's not zero suit samus she doesn't come in until zero mission that's normal smaus

  • lol kraid and ridley were so small

  • At last Ridley Scott is dead. Thank you Samus! jk. ;D

  • that is zero suit samus

  • yheah its a virtual console cheat

  • god...this is creepy...

  • Yes, there is one energy tank "more" than all needed to max energy.

  • SIX Engery tanks?! *gasp*

  • The most fun way to beat Ridley in this game is to screw attack him to death!

  • I'll beat his ass!

  • shit Kraid looks like a crippled Crocodile ^^

  • fucking confusing

  • I remember kraid was so hard, it took me at least 50 tries to beat him. But ridley was a piece of cake.

  • Same here! We both made the same mistake the first time through... trying to fight Kraid first! :)

  • lol the first i fighted was Kraid i never fighted mother or ridely

  • mint vid like the ne outfit

  • I cant play this game, its so freaking hard!!! And not in a good way! o_O

  • Looks like Ridley is stuck with that god-aweful loopy gun from festers quest, it just friggen spins right past you!

  • wow, ridley and kraid are so much smaller in the nes version

  • ridley is ugly

  • No! He's beautiful!

  • Ha. Kraid looks like an alien cousin of Bowser in Metroid 1

    :P

  • Yeah and Ridley looks like an egghead. So much loling.

  • You know. Now that you mention it... He does!

  • wow ridely looked like a deformed chicken

  • Oh shit it did.

  • heh, nice, you used the "Justin Bailey" code to get her suit off xD

  • i love this game <3

  • holy buttmunches! they were freakin tiny!!!

  • Kraid in Zero Mission is way way way way bigger than the kraid in here

  • and kraid in super metroid is bigger then him, and if kraid would be in metroid prime, he would be friggin huge!

  • haha lol samus shits out bombs

  • I love how Ridley is bigger than Kraid. Well, games evolve, so there you go.

  • forgot that comment i saw him i just didn,t watch the video all together

  • wait can someone tell me the time of this video were ridley apperes plz?

  • The big purple thing at the beggining of the video, it's like 10 secounds in.

  • tHANX

  • omg i never knew ridley was on the nes thats so cool!

  • I like killing Ridley with the Screw Attack!

  • It's too bad Ridley isn't that easy on the new Metroid Prime for teh Wii...

  • You mean, good thing! God I'm glad they made Ridley harder on zero mission.

  • omega or meta ridley?

  • NEither, that just regular ridley.

  • i am talking to HR509

  • The first time I discovered Ridley's lair I thought it was so weird. It took me a while to discover it too. I had weird dreams about Metroid.

  • me too!

  • ong i had weird dreams too only at the place wenyou get to his lair

  • wow, ridley is hard to beat... That should have made him fly around or something...

  • lol yeah

  • It wasn't just a code - if you beat the game within a certain time frame, under two hours, I think... then you got to see Samus without her suit on.

  • He didn't use justin bailey because if he did, Kraid and Ridley would've already been killed. He used some other suitless Samus code.

  • i used a code NARPAS SWORD0 000

  • Damn this game was so hard when I was five

  • I'd rather get shot in the ass then watch this again.....Now that I think about it...nevermind.

  • what I mean by that is i thought it was kind long. I didn't mean to sound like a complete jackass.

  • I thought samus was a blonde?!

  • Only in Super Metroid and all later titles. In the original and Metroid II, her hair was brown. Although while playing in-game, you can see that her hair is green.

  • havent you seen samus without a suit ??

you can play without a suit, if you finish the game first time and play it then again!!

  • why Samus is not in her Power Suit???

  • Because the player entered a passcode which allows play without the suit.

  • its not a cheat... well it is but a offial one, its a password JUSTIN BAILEY or somthing like that... you can use samus without the suit. very cool password btw.

  • hey is this emulated or is it the original?

  • Is there a cheat, or is it a variation of the Varia-suit?

  • I entried the passcode to make Samus without her armor.

Go to my playlists section to watch my first video named "Metroid NES 01"

  • I don't understand. Is this the first version? I've never seen Seamus without armour?

  • its a password, it was justin bailey ------ ------ and you could use samus with out the suit.

ooohhhh the good old days, my dad spend an entire day sitting infront of the NES trying to beat this game... i think he did...

  • it took me 8 hours the first time i beat this game.

  • Messed my comment up/ Try to beat Ridley or Kraid without standing in the spot he did, and for kraid don't use bombs, I don't think it's possible to without using some strategy like that or having alot of health, It's just too hard.

  • For all you people dissing Kraid and Ridley in this game, you should be careful, they are alot harder then they look.

  • i dot samus didnt come out her suit until the end

  • And I thought SNES games were old... I mean, my GOD, the graphics are old and the music is old, Samus isn't even wearing her suit and her likes to change from blonde to black. I mean, WTF? You still did a good job, anyway.

  • um try super mario brothers 3 or the original and its just like this. thank god for cpu's and hyperthreading and quad core.

  • Why isn't she wearing her suit?

  • Because I entried the passcode

See my first video (can be found on my playlists)

  • Is the thing at 13:01 Fake Kraid?

  • "lol talk about a joke. ridley and kraid really evolved into some worthy opponents over the years, not like these guys"

Dude, this game is one of the NES games, the firts metroid, whit 8 bits

  • How do you have suit, but still have the ice beam? The Justin Bailey gives you the wave beam.

  • mother brain is WAYYYYYYY harder than ridley n kraid.

    still an awesome game, tho

  • One of the best games ever (for the NES).

  • wtf was that drqagon on 40 sec ridley lol

  • lol talk about a joke. ridley and kraid really evolved into some worthy opponents over the years, not like these guys

  • I still have this game buried somewhere in my room! Nice run. That flying bastard you ran into at 9:03, I hated those things.

  • ... kraid definetly grew some.

  • yes..yes he has..

  • Damn this brings back some great memories.

  • haha, Kraid so small, he looks like a mole. What a terrifying little creature. And Ridley, the compressed sausage, oh boy. But yeah this music's still great, but today, it's particularly the orchestral one...

  • I love the music on Kraid, And I love this game, thnaks for putting this on mate :)
