I would not be surprised if the guppies and other small fish were nipping at his fins as his fins seem shorter than they should be for a Veil tail betta.
lots of things, betta food, tropical fish flakes,algae chips and the occasional blood worms and brine shrimp, I also have a baby formula for the new babies.
