yeah, that was set in the 19th sentury, but the scne in that movie was set iin the 18th century, with the big, wide dresses, and the huge, towering wigs, etc.
Seriously, if this kind of clothes wouldn't be so expensive to even think of making/buying and if they would'nt be so rare(I mean, they are mostly used only as masquerade costmes), I would definetly walk around in it every day, no matter people would think I'm crazy. I love everything from this era; the clothes, the furniture the way of living. I love the 18th and 19th century history.
Well it's a very nice video. These are of course the clothes of the privelidged and the few. 98% of people would have worn something very different. You wouldn't be digging turnips or washing the scullery in this clobber and that's what all of us would have been doing.
Ilove the ornate fashion i create vintage reproductions and incorporate them in everything i wear it makes me happy and mostly produces positive reactions!!
Lovelly clothes. I collect antique collars and wear them a lot in public! lotsa ppl look at them , its great being a bit different and wearing the memories of yesterday is Great :P
you have got reason.. its a pitty!! :(, i made a 18th century dress for me, but i cant wear it in the street, its lovely, i can only wear it in carnival,... nice viedo :)
Hmmm, well, I don't know. :) There are people I know who go out wearing 18th century dresses and suits whenever they feel like it (going to the park or shopping). I don't because I'm too afraid of being heckled that it's not Halloween or whatever.
Gosh, i love rococo. More than baroque, baroque lacks femininity in my opinion.
But how I would love the own a 'robe a la francaise' ;]

I really want to buy a justeaucorps. Too bad these are so hard to get by these days...
Someone suggested I should perhaps ask at a local opera where they get their requisites, I guess that's a good idea.
