Judgeing by the comments below and above. The Singing teacher in the video is the only person who can Sing. I wonder Why?? I know a guy who bought a DH Mountin Bike and a HD Helmet Cam. The Bike is now 8 months old with 6 klm's on the Computer. He now uses the Helmet Cam to Film him self, on his lazy ass watching DH Mountin Bikeing on TV. What a looser!!!

Because singing and teaching are two different things. Tell me you've never had a teacher that absolutely knew what they were talking about, but still had a shitty class and no one enjoyed it. That happens because singing and teaching are two entirely different skill sets.

These people are so completely full of shit. On their website, none of the coaches have any kind of professionally recognized certification to work with voice. Two of the coaches have Bachelor's degrees, neither of them are in voice. But of course some of them list "certified Brett Manning Associate" as a credential. They have certification from someone who has no certification themselves: Read Brett's bio... he has NO professionally OR academically valid qualification for voice instruction.

You're gonna put all your trust on someone with a piece of paper over someone who has successfully trained many famous artists, Broadway singers, etc? There are some pretty terrible vocal coaches out there that have these credentials you speak of, so I'm not sure why you are making a big deal out of it.

People expect officially-documented academic expertise in every other field wherein one would seek out a tutor, so why not singing?

Not of my own personal experience but a good friend of mine who wasted his money on a coach who was apparently teaching him improper belting technique, the kind of thing that might have ruined his voice had he kept with the same teacher. Look I know what you are saying, but I don't think that piece of paper alone really compares to the amount of experience Brett has and how successful he has been working with those artists/performers.

We both know that neither the amount of experience someone has NOR the paper on their wall necessarily says anything about the quality of their work. The original thing I said was that he doesn't know dick about voice, which is verifiably true. Nothing he says in this video has any grounding in the scientific reality of voice teaching, and the few correct things he says are so vague that he could be making them up on the spot.

Also, I don't understand your whole take on this. If you've never experienced vocal coaches, you've never had voice lessons, and you've never studied voice. So if Brett Manning & Co. are qualified to talk about voice because of their experience, that means that you are not qualified to talk about voice because of your lack of experience. Not dissing you just using your own logic to explain why you have no business talking about voice study in any public forum.

i have a decent range, but my voice sometimes sounds so ugly! other times, it sounds really good. im not even close to a professional, and i have never been trained, but why dont i have any consistency? i can never preform in front of people if i have to worry if im going to sound decent or not, please help? people say that my voice is very soothing/ calming, but sometimes, i just cant do it and i have no idea, its very frustrating, i shouldnt have to sing based on luck.

@thehorrorsof Don' pay attention a camera recording - equipment not meant primarily for voice (like a CAMERA) will give a false impression of your voice. After years on the radio I was astonished by how better equipment made me sound better instantly. Same voice, diff equip. For your best voice you will need instruction, sing a lot, relax onstage, and most of all become confident about the material you sing.You will fail some -- that's learning, but don't let a homemade recording hold you back.
