  • Wow! Nice Setup. Its Simple, And Looks Awesome. I Wish I Had The Money To Buy This Stuff. But, I Do Have Some Graduation Money, And Im Debating Weather I Should Buy Track IR 5 Or The Saitek Yoke. I Already Have A Saitek X52, But Its Not Really Enjoyable When Flying Commercial Airliners. Which Do You Think I Should Get??? Oh, And, How Much Did Your Setup Cost???

  • @xMaidenSlayerx Ha - thanks. That's even my old setup! I have really kicked it into gear with the 2600k + SSD drive + 3x 22" screens.

My vote - TrackIR. Then get a yoke. I fly with my Saitek Yoke + TPM about 90%. TrackIR 101%.

    Total cost ..let's see. $1500 computer/screen $150 TIR $400 Saitek Boxes $450 yokes + TPM

I suppose $2500 bucks or so.

Check out my new setup on my channel. Good luck and fly well!

    Bman.

  • @flybman2007 hi, do you wear glasses? lol, i really wanna be a pilot and im addicted to fsx hehe,

  • so the radio will work for all the add ons then?

  • @nigel45212 Hmm, maybe.... :) I will check my levelD 767 and keep you posted.

  • i have flight1 atr, level d 767, quality wings 757, ifly737,madddog md80, im also goin to purchase the pmdg 747 and md11

  • @nigel45212 In that case you will have mixes feelings about the saitek boxes IMHO. The radios control box would give you the most benefit but the switch panel and AP panels would not really do much for you as the control in the plane are vastly different in terms of Mode Control Panel (MCP) versus AP stack found in a GA plane. Two different things. The Saitek boxes lend themselves to GA planes.

    Bman.

  • hi does the saitek radios and multi panel work with payware planes?

  • @nigel45212 It depends on the plane. Most of the switches work for GA planes. But it really depends. Not all switches work for every plane, let's put it that way. Controls like the radio panels work well, multi-panel and switch panel do not always do like you would suspect. Give me an example for the plane and I will let you know as I have stacks of planes in my hangar.

    Bman.

  • how do you manage that the cockpit is shown on all three monitors??

  • @fs96x you can use Matrox TripleHead 2 Go or ATI's Eyefinity. I use the Matrox. This will span 3 displays with ease.

    Bman.

  • @flybman2007 thanks.....does only the vc works with three monitors or 2 D cockpit as well?

  • @fs96x 3D / VC only for the most part. You can scale down the 2D cockpits so they fit on 1 screen but I never do that. I only fly VC + TrackIR and many of my planes don't even come with 2D cockpits any longer.

  • @flybman2007 okay....thank you!!

  • @flybman2007 okay...thank you!

  • Totaly agree with you about trackir . We cant all afford everything .... but there are a few basics to get the realism thing going ... mine is trackir , a flight yolk and pedals ... and the rest can wait till I can afford it .... but these are the must have basics.

  • The Matrox is nice for a lot af people, but technologically wise it had it's time. You have the same thing now integrated in the form of the Eyefinity technology in nearly every ATI/AMD of the 5000 and 6000 series graphic cards. It is much cheaper and you can also manage screen bezels without having vertical black bars on the left and the right of your screen.

To flybman2007: your cockpit config is cool, your two cockpit videos are inspiring me and your new Sandy bridge rigg is the way to go.

  • @sadickes Yeah, the Eyefinity isn't too bad. It's nice that's it's all integrated now in the GPU now - just a shame it's ATI. Haha. Juuust kidding. I am nVidia right now but both ATI and nVidia are making strong cards.

I am digging the new SB... and the new Saitek TPM throttles.

  • @flybman2007

I have a 250GTX right now and I would prefer to stay with Nvidia but they now requires an SLI (two coupled Nvidia cards) solution to enable you surround gaming (it's how their marketing geeks now call mutli-monitor) from which FSX gets nearly no benefit in performance terms but we as users get the costs and the heat! So on these terms I tend to switch to AMD/ATI for my next rigg to get a decent multi-monitor setup. Other advantage, not so limited in terms of resolutions as Matrox.

  • @sadickes I don't know what I will grab for my next card. Currently I am sitting on a 460 (1 GB) and it's an underdog to my SB at 4.7 but in the end, my FPS and blurries are looking strong so there is no real need to upgrade just yet. Plus, I am saving for Reality XP Unlimited gauge 430 / 530.

Matrox resolutions are just fine - they match all my native monitor resolutions.

One thing is to be said for the Matrox - I have had it for 4 years and it's a breeze to setup.

  • I read in the description that you have Buttkicker Gamer,is a good tool for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator X? What do you think?

  • @yokesistem It's pretty cool but honestly I don't use it every flight. Not even 1/5th the flights. It's pretty cool indeed and I picked mine up for $50 bucks. It's the older version. It helps with the immersion a bit for sure but nothing like the TrackIR drops you in.

  • @flybman2007 Thanks Bman for the reply,...I and my friend wants to buy this, but in Italy it costs €189.I have TrackIR and it is essential for my flights ;-)

You have Matrox Triplehead 2 Go,what are the differences and benefits compared than a graphic card with 3 video outputs?

  • hey man great video i want to get started on FSX and i got all my equipment like the yoke, throttle, and rudder pedals but i cant seem to find the TRACK ir if you could let me know where you got it i would really appreciate it nice job again.

  • @ahadrocks4 Anywhere :) TrackIR Pro 5 or Pro 4. You can get it at NewEgg, Amazon or just about any online gaming retailer. FSPilotshop has it too. It will run you about $150 bucks. I will not fly without it!

    Bman.

  • Nice setup love the beer bottle addon

  • Hey I'm planning on buying some equipment and I really mean SOME I just need a yoke and any other necessity to be play the game comfortably behind my tv. Nothing really fancy for a low price. Do you know what and for what price I can get that stuff? Thanks.

  • @FortFrozen A yoke would be the most important in my opinion. I would go for a Saitek Yoke. If you are into more fighter jets, extra 300 and gliders, you might consider the X52 by Saitek instead of the yoke. You can pick up either of those for about $140. Second item would be s TrackIR (head tracking device) you can get that for around $150. Helps with the immersion of the simulator. Good luck and have fun!

  • i run 3.5 GHz stock on my cpu. AMD Phenom 2 965 black edition

  • @thomash509 nice! I just did a full upgrade to a Sandy Bridge 2600k, 8 GB G.Skill 1600 (CAS 7), Asus P8P67 Pro, Samsung 128 GB SSD, Corsair H70 Hydro.

Currently at 4.8 GHZ. Screaming fast... ridiculously smooth at 5040x1024 resolution.

  • is that a beer bottle? come on man, no flying for 24 hours after drinking LOL jk.

great setup you have btw :)

  • a new video would be nice:)

  • @haasy8976 yeah, what kind of video is the question. What is it that hasn't been already covered by some one on the web? :)

  • @flybman2007 i reckon you would do a good tutorial of some sort.

  • Nice vid man. I love the track ir but unfortunately, I'm on a Mac.

  • why ch yoke why not saitek ?

  • @IIIgGeeksIII Old video :) I do have all saitek now. My CH had a potentiometer burn our so I went with Saitek. I have also added a new i7 laptop for 3D apps (planG / FSMap / Run FSInn remotely etc). Moving up in the world..

  • Hi, I would have a question for you. Your headset, when you put in on, do you hear the ATC comms when on VATSIM in your headset, and the engines and other sounds in your speakers or is it all in one (headset OR speakers) ?

    Awesome set up btw!

  • @DarkForce230 All in one. At one time I thought I wanted to split out the airplane sounds from Vatsim ATC but then I realized I was missing half the sound notifications I was waiting for. So, now it's all in one and it's just fine. I turn down the engines on some planes so it's overpowering the ATC,

  • I noticed the Razorback on your hat. Pig Soieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • @freddieutt Go HOGS! I have to represent the Alma Mater !

  • It is running from 35 to 40 stable FPS, and the SLI mode dont work on 64bit with 3 monitors i am running the 2 GPU's individual. If i like to have your view i have to duplicate the Virtual Cockpit & drag it to the side monitors and then pan the view from the left & right monitors.

  • @jaybepr I see - that sounds about the way I have heard other folks do it with say more than 3 monitors. I have a friend who has 6 monitors hooked up and he have the primary VC view in one...opens another view and drags it over to the other screens (panel / gauges / gps etc). Nice work.

  • Hi, one question. I have 3 BX2050 Monitors with 2 Nvidia 9600 GT, do i need the Matrox TripleHead 2 Go or is my setup OK??? Thanks for the help...

  • @Jaybepr787 That's a good question. I think you might be able to get it to work if you run a "horizontal" view but I don't know how that works with SLI to be honest. In the end, you might take a FPS hit that inhibits 3 monitors on two cards. Keep me posted on how it works out.

  • does the matrox triple head to go box work with only two monitors??

  • @haasy8976 The Matrox TripleHead 2 Go - Works with THREE monitors. The Matrox DualHead 2 Go splices two monitors. If you plan on flying with only two monitors, I would just let the graphics card handle it. Most modern GPUs have no problem pushing two monitors.

If you are flying with three monitors, I highly recommend the TripleHead 2 Go.

    Bman.

  • new updates since this video.?

  • @Beech165 New i7 laptop off to the side for PlanG and FSMap, a lot of shared cockpit flight, ORBX PNW and Lancair and just serious GA simming on Vatsim.

What else could I update... ;)

  • @flybman2007

    Awesome.!

  • zzzzz fly

  • i realy like your cockpit but if you use a 20 in monitor in the midle its a lot better because you get reed of the monitors edges in the critical area fo view see my cockpit ansee what i mean see you im beto the video name is beto´s cockpit i fly in viao mexico divition ,, keep on flynng

  • @betod Thanks - TrackIR is the name of the game. I don't ever sit in a static view so I don't ever notice the monitor bezels. If you don't have a TrackIR, get it :) If you watch the video, you can see me moving around the cockpit. Indeed - keep on flying. I hope to hit the skies tonight - though I am a Vatsim lifer :) Maybe someday our paths will cross in the virtual skies, yeah?

  • i don't know if u know but when you buy a graphics card can it be bigger as it holds more Ghz

  • @jackthtsme I am not exactly sure of your question - physical size will increase. GHZ is not a size, it's a speed. Usually the faster the speed - the bigger the fan in terms of cooling the hotter / faster chip. That's a gross generalization but newer, faster cards (with more on board memory) are typically bigger.

  • @jackthtsme thanks for the help on that one. one more question sorry. when you have 3 monitors u by a triple head2go box which helps. when you all conect it do u still have to edit screen settings on your desktop or does it work straight away ?

  • I am building/saving to have almost the same home cockpit setup that you have. Your setup is amazing! I think there is one more thing that you may be interested in....check out EZCA fsx on youtube. It works with Track IR and it is pretty amazing.

  • @fsxgridda Yeah, I have been keeping my eye on EX Camera. I have a lot of things that I am looking at, that's the problem. I also want the Reality XP 530 ...and about 10 different planes :)

  • what song did you use for the begining and end of this video

  • ok. wat is your job?

  • @xMaidenSlayerx Architect...

  • wow. I didn't even know half of this stuff existed

  • @NlCK93 Indeed it does - couldn't fly without it!

  • great video!!!! subbed

  • nice setup, but with the money you're spending on FSX, you might as well get on ebay and buy a slightly used Quicksilver ultralight and fly for real. I grew up on flight simulators too, and I still fly sims. But I am also a real world private pilot. And believe me, sims are awesome, but sims will never begin to do justice to the real thing. You already know how to fly anyway.

  • @nearadyn Yeah - I mean, $1500 bucks will only go so far in towards buying a plane :) It's far better to just mooch off my friends who own planes. Don't get me wrong, I would like to have my PPL and instrument rating but it's not going to happen any time soon. It will be me calling shotgun when we charter planes for work and letting my coworkers think I am nuts.

  • @conapicka Computer: Q6600 CPU = $190 ASUS P5K = $125 GeiL Ram (4GB) = $80 eVGA 275 GTX = $225 750w PSU = $150 Misc (keyboard / mouse etc) = $150 Matrox 3H2Go = $300 TrackIR 4 Pro = $150 x3 HannsG LCDs = $400 Saitek boxes (x3) = $325 Saitek Yoke = $125 Saitek Rudder = $125 X-52 Pro Stick = $150 Butt Kicker = $50 Right around $2500 bones. Not bad considering this is also my video editing machine, daily workhorse etc. The simming components are about 1/2 the cost outside the computer.
  • Hi great video, surely if you extended the stand the monitors are standing on or built a new one you could get 3 24"'s

  • @snipski0894 Ha - no joke! That would be sweet. I would love to have a bit larger monitors. When I originally set up the system Matrox didn't support anything larger than 3840 x 1024... now they are 5040x ... I need larger monitors :)

  • very nice man!

  • hey is the saitek yoke hard to set for fsx, and can you make a video on how to do it, if you make it pleas let me know.

  • @thekiller0673 super tough :).... uhh, you plug it in an fly. There are really no adjustments that need to be made at all. The Saitek X52 is little more complex doing combination keys and modes. The yoke is plug and go!

  • Nice setup "on a budget" (that doesn't break the bank)

If you fly the heavies, you may want to consider voice control as the next step.

I use something called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which you can get a demo), and i give voice commands to the virtual co-pilot, who then turns the dials for me (it can be a pain to do that with trackIR in virtual cockpit).

  • @johnfoster187 Thanks -

i fly nearly 90% GA craft - I am all into GA in the PNW and Tongass Fjords right now with Vatsim + FSEconomy. I will break out the 767 (Level D) on the occasion just to stay on top of the FMC and not forget all the functions.

Any real big difference between FS2Crew and MCE?

  • @flybman2007 Well, next to MCE fs2crew appears like “another nice little program”

MCE has a demo, so you know what you are getting. Fs2Crew tries to trick you with highly edited promotional videos. The reality (actual use of product) is disappointing. And you need to get a separate product for every aircraft, when MCE works with many including Level-D. In addition, MCE allows you to talk to native ATC or Radar Contact ATC. This feature alone is worth the asking price.

  • witch yoke is the best the ch yoke or the saitek yoke.

  • @flybman2007 thx for the advise and the fast answer.

  • Stupid quesion, but how are you moving round the cockpit without using shift + arrow keys

  • @AR123457 You did watch the video right? :) I talk about the TrackIR...

  • Last question, sorry for all of them ha. What OS are you running? I am worried the pedals and the multi switch panel wont work with Win 7/32. I read a few saying they had issues.

  • @brettxw No problem - keep them coming. I am currently on Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit). I wouldn't see why you would have any issues.. I haven't heard of any. Just make sure you have a reliable and constant power output USB port.

  • @flybman2007 Awesome. Will be ordering the rudder pedals and multi control switch tomorrow. I could use the rudders a lot when coming in on final. I hate having to turn actually turn the yoke.

  • Great video, nice explanation. I have a quick question you could likely answer, so I needn't create an entire thread on the forum: You'll need my specs: Phenom II 965 @ 4.16 | 8GB DDR3 1600OC | XFX Radeon 5970 Black Edition | 3x 1920x1200< just ordered. Track IR, just ordered.

Can I run all 3 displays off the 5970, or will I need to drop in my 4890? I would prefer not to purchase the tripleheadtogo.

Otherwise I have a surprisingly similar setup, but only now am I getting into x3 display.

  • @HypnoticSuggestion Hi. I have heard that you can get all three monitors to work is "Eyefinity" but I haven't heard anything positive or negative. I suspect it can be done without the Matrox as that's the whole point of the Eyefinity as I understand it.

What I do know is that the Matrox works well and takes no configuration to stitch the monitors together. Windows 7 doesn't know the difference - i just cranks out a resolution of 3840x1024.

Congrats on the TIR - you will love it.

    Bman.

  • @flybman2007 Well since you've got it working, and with similar hardware (sim stuff), I think I'm gonna just take the route you did, I'm ordering what you have. I like that Windows won't know, that will supersede any and all issues and I won't need to go crazy with EyeFinity.

    Thank you, happy sim'ing!

  • The first thing I need to do is purchase rudders. Stupidly I did not when purchasing the yoke. I'm undecided between Saitek rudder and CH..any advise?

  • @brettxw I like the Saitek rudder. No complaints. I like the wide foot position and adjustable tension. Fact is, I really using them on the ground and a bit in the air... nothing that you hammer the whole time you are flying. I would go Saitek.

  • @flybman2007 I 2nd that, I've used the CH pedals and they are too sloppy for my liking and compared to a real plane, they just don't cut it. Great setup btw. Will be working at making one similar myself.

  • Hey, nice video! I actually never though to youtube video reviews for these products, which is how I came across your video. In your set up you pretty much use all Saitek products except for the yoke..Is there a huge difference between the saitek yoke and the CH yoke?

  • @brettxw @brettxw Nice - yeah, actually I am 100% Saitek now. My trusty CH yoke gave up a few weeks after that video. The potentiometer shot craps. I figured I would give the Saitek yoke a try since all the rest of their hardware does a pretty good job. I must say that I really do like the motion of the Saitek better. However, I have had a the random phantom presses that people talk about. I found the work around is to be in mode 3 on the yoke. I would go Saitek regardless.

    Bman.

  • @flybman2007 Thanks for replying back. I have the same yoke and I had the phantom presses and found the work around by deleting the reg keys created by the Saitek Yoke, have not had an issue since then (knock on wood). The only issue I have had is that when you push the yoke it seems to stick a little..You can't really get a smooth push motion which sucks. I am thinking about pulling the yoke as far as I can and throwing some Vaseline on the rod so it will "lube" it up to allow better push.

  • @flybman2007 Ran out of room ha. I have been reviewing the multi display panel since I do the majority of my flying with auto pilot, so that will be a HUGE help. As it is I have Rogers DIY keyboard mock up. Ive also been reading that the multi switch panel is not really needed, just more of a "real time flying experience".. Do you think the same?

  • @brettxw In terms of ranking panels in terms of their usefulness, the radio switch panel takes the cake (even more so if you fly on Vatsim). Its really nice to have all your radios pre-tuned and ready for quick change (and your nav / ADF / XPDR). The multi-switch is a close second. Quite handy also. Heck, none of them are "needed" it all just helps with the immersion factor and fun factor. Saitek yoke, I use to notice that sticking movement but it's since dissipated a bit.

  • You could fly a Cessna 157 with no problems in the real life!!

  • are you currently with any VA's if not you should come join California Airlines VA im not trying to spam lol just were always looking for some good pilots but in any case great setup i have a simular setup but i built my own home cockpit

  • are you a pilot in real life?

  • @shechshire not even close. Just an arm chair pilot hobbyist at best...

  • @flybman2007 you should take flying lessons, you'd be flying solo in probably 10 hours. The setup you have is awesome. It'd easily allow you to transfer the time to a real aircraft. I have 16 hours of flight instruction and I'm finding FSX to be quite helpful in practicing things I learn during lessons. Not to mention trying things, that'd otherwise be dangerous in a real aircraft. Example, doing a full power stall at take off.

  • Have you tried Tileproxy?

  • @olafrostvei I have. I like it but the lack of autogen bugs me. I fly a lot of GA so a flat pancake of earth bores me. Still fun to use on the occasion..

    Bman.

  • Nice setup .. I have been wondering if i should buy the ButtKicker i think i will now :)

  • Hi concerning the throttle quadrant

How do you program the blue and red capped sticks to represent propeller etc.

I'm having a bit of trouble with it

    Thanks

  • @thatmattguy21 You manage these levers in the FSX "Controls" settings area. Very simple, it asks which control axis controls what... Honestly, you shouldn't have to set anything up. FSX should do it by default..

  • Hi... nice system and video. I have a similar system, a bit more directed to jet airliners, though. I'd like to make you a question about your setup. I also have a buttkicker gamer. I try to connect it to my subwoofer output, which works fine for music, but not for FSX. The signal seems to be too low when running FSX. It only works fine if I split my speakers output. How do you connect it?

  • @marconimenezes Yeah, I will fly the LevelD 767 & PMDG etc. There is some fun to getting the FMC all set up and have the plane do as one would expect. Recently with the ORBX products and nice GA planes like Cheyenne etc, flying low and relatively slow have been appealing.

FSX + Buttkicket - you have the answer. I split my signal output. I have tried the subwoofer channel but even when that gain it kicked up, I don't think FSX usually pumps audio out of that channel. Split it.

  • @flybman2007 Alright, now I know it's not only my system, it's FSX. Do you use a simple passive splitter like the cable they provided? That one was already damaged when it arrived. I bought another one and it also went bad after a couple months. I wonder if it was just bad luck, bad quality, or... ;-)

BTW, if you go for airliners, I can recommend the VRinsight stuff, as a cheaper, yet quite good solution. I own the MCP combo and the CDU II. Great!

  • @marconimenezes I think it's just a passive spiltter. The BK amp will filter out the highs.

I have read too many mixed reviews on the CDUII... $450 for a keyboard enumerator. I have contemplated a 8" touchscreen... but still wish for a rock solid CDU for $200 tops..

  • Thanks for the video dude and I totally dig your setup but I gotta tell ya man; you seem really smart and very knowledgeable but you're killing me with the pace lol. Close ups and quick cuts man; we can pause ya if we need a minute :)

  • @foxtrot789 Ha - noted. Yeah, waaay longer than needs to be for sure. No lying there. It sounds real silly for anyone who actually already sims.

  • Those aren't wide screen monitors...are they? What size are they.

Love the set-up. I have configured nearly the same thing before I saw your video.

    Thanks!

  • @tearoy888 No widescreen. I am running 3840x1024 (3x19"). Wish I had widescreen though. 5040x1024 would be sweet.

When I set up my Matrox back in the day, they didn't support that resolution.

    Fly well-

    Bman.

  • let me know when you are ready to sell it ) my question is does it matter what kind of graphics card you have to use the matrox? and how much would it slow down the computer using the matrox? i don't have a very good rig but it's decent the graohics card is not the best either.

  • @szucsbela It wont be the matrox that will drag your machine down, rather you are trying to run 3840x or 5480x resolution - that's where the GPU comes into play. You need a decent GPU to fly well at those higher resolutions. Its a whole more pixels to generate versus 1280x1024 etc..

So, Martrox isn't a problem... but it will create one if you are strong suited in the graphics department.

    Bman.

  • Got a few questions about TrackIR... I have a laptop and i play FSX on it. It works good but can i use the TrackIR on it.... I only use one screen not 3 like you:) Also what website should i buy the TrackIR from? Can u make it really sensitive so you dont have to move as much?

  • It's all relative to where you place the tracking base unit. You pretty much need to have the tracking unit placed at eye-ball level. This will give you the best tracking. You don't need 3 screens - that just adds to the immersion.

I would just google TrackIR4 Pro or TrackIR and see where the sales are happening. You should be able to find TrackIR4 for about $140 or so. You can make adjustments to be as sensitive as your want with the TIR software. It has a nice GUI to do so.

    Bman.

  • @flybman2007. Thats the best way i have ever heared drinking and flying put lol 'bottle to throttle'

  • i like how you have the beer next to your flight training simulator... lol.

  • @marlo916 that's the beauty of the simming hobby. No rules on drink of choice. It's more like 8 minutes from bottle to throttle, not 8 hours. :)

    Cheers-

    Bman.

  • I have the same speakers :D

  • GREAT setup bro. My wife would KILL me lol. Maybe if I win the lotto I could justify it. SWEET.

  • buttkicker for $50?? maybe i am looking in the wrong place

  • @cjellwood Yeah, I got it when it was $99 with $50 MIR. The best I can find it now is $99...

    Still not bad.

  • I have a problem with FSX. When I play this game on my quad core processor, it only uses only one core. How can I make this game run on all four cores??

I have an Intel Quad core 2.66Ghz

  • First - Do you have SP1 and SP2 installed for FSX? Both of these can be found at the MS Flight Simulator site (FSinsider).

SP1 added the multi-core support. After you have SP1 + 2 installed, you can also add a line into the you FSX.cfg to make sure that all cores are being used. Do a google search for "Affinitymask" and you will see the information you need to put in the .cfg file.

Third : overclock you CPU if you want the most from the q6600.

  • Why CH and not Saitek my man?

  • @JayPattersonTV I think I have covered this somewhere on this thread. When I bought my CH, Saitek didn't even have yoke yet. My CH is heading south (potentiometer is dying) and Saitek is on my list. I have everything else Saitek so I figure I would give the yoke a try also. The x52 Pro has treated me well... so I figure the yoke will be just as well. Cheers

    Bman.

  • what settings do you keep FSX on? and what kinds of framerates do you usually get.

  • @PCtechtips101 Here there - hey go check out the thread under FlightSimWorld where I am discussing the settings I use.

I don't use any of the predefined states FSX has set up. I manage each of them interdependently using FSX Go. I keep my FPS locked at 30 just to give a little more headroom for the texture rendering. I kick LOD_Radius up to around 7.50000 so and the frame lock helps that out.

MY new GTX 275 (3840x1024) keeps me at 30. Let me know if you have specific setting ??'s. Bman.

  • Thanks for the video. I think I now need the Head 2 Go splitter. I have the CH Eclipse yoke that includes rudders and trim wheels and more programmable buttons then I can remember. I think I like your set up better. Those Saitek Panels look and respond great. they won't let me fly real world anymore because of insulin dependence. FSX is about as close as you can get, if you have the computer power to run it. A good system is a lot cheaper then $150/hr to rent a plane. Thanks Again - Keep Smilin'

  • if you dont have the pedal how to you use the rudder if you only have a yoke and a thottle

  • The throttle can be "auto-coordinated" through FS9 / FSX settings. The rudder will turn when the ailerons are turned...

  • i like the bottle of beer

  • fly bman, I want to focus on flying airliners on fsx(Idk wut to get). should i get x52 or yoke? CH or Saitek

  • Hey - That's a tough call. Personally I would get a yoke before the stick. It just seems more natural for the big tin. However, the new airlines are going with the side arm stick - soo, I could see that argument. The yoke to me still seems natural. Its a toss up between the Saitek versus CH to me. I like them both. The Saitek does have the separate throttle quadrant which is a bonus.

  • Thank you soo much! Now, should I get Saitek or CH? i like them both but there is $20 difference. What do you think?

  • My current CH yoke is going out as

I type. I think I am going to try a Saitek next. CH could only charge me to have it fixed and offer me a new potentiometer. I think both Saitek and CH yokes are good...

  • Where did u get the Buttkicker Gamer from? You said for 50 dollars i see it on amazon for 100.

  • get the saitek pro flight yoke im getting it it comes with a seprate throttle quadrant

  • I used to fly with a joystick but I got the saitek pro flight yoke and quadrant and I prefere that to my stick. Also, If u want to see my review of the saitek yoke and quadrant check my channel. thx.

  • I saying Saitek. External gas throttle + clock on the yoke... i love Saitek

  • Would it be possible to have your email address as I would like to ask a more detailed request regarding you videos. If OK I will supply my private email for reply?

    Many thanks

  • why don't u use the saitek yoke instead of the CH one??

  • I bought the CH yoke pretty much first in line right before the TrackIR about 3 years ago. The CH has treated me just fine for a GA type yoke.

I did buy the X52 Pro.. which is great. I just haven't had a major reason to drop the bank on the Saitek yoke.

  • Did you make the part of the desk which elevates the monitors because it seems to work perfectly with the flight modules and monitors.

  • I did. While the controls were enroute via FedEx, I wondered how I was going to set them up. A 1x12 worked perfectly. My biggest concern was making it as tight as possible so the controls wouldn't move when I crank the dials. The 1x12 is more than enough stout to support the monitors - the whole thing is pretty rigid.

  • Now that is dedication to having a neat and simply awesome setup. This is what I hope to achieve in the future.

  • can u please make a video on how to hook up the butkicker . i cant find the instructions ive tried many way to hook it up ive look for online manuals no one flight simer on you tube even has one and theres not much out there on how to hook it up. i have tried on several difrent ocations to hook it up and every time i fail to do it properly please make a video i feel i wasted the money on junk

  • Go to the buttkicker gamer site... the manual is online there. I just checked. It's simple to hook up. Plug the "Y" cable that came with the BK into you soundcard output. Plug you adio speakers on one end, the BK on the other end. Plug the chair cable in.

Turn on some music and dials the knobs on the front of the BK amp up to mid levels. Are you getting the Signal Light on the front of the amp to change green tones? If not, you aren't getting the signal to the amp portion of the BK.

  • What did you say was in your chair to get the rumble

  • Buttkicker Gamer. It's a great piece of equipment for $75 bucks or so...

  • hey I have the Q6600 as well, overclocked much like yours. I just upgraded from the same video card to the GTX 260 216, its a very nice upgrade for FSX. Since we have the same system, i figured I'd share that with you. You can pick up the PNY Card at Best buy for 175, good price for the card, unusual gfx card price at best buy or any retail store for that matter.

  • I gotta say I'm impressed with your framerate with only a 8800GTS 640mb, it must be the good Cpu keeping those frames up, but still no lag from side to side so the Gpu's frame buffer is solid. Just a little surprised I was using a 9800GTX+ at one point and struggled with the game, but was using a AMD X2 6400+, that was very likely the killer. If I turned off autogen scenery then 60fps was easily sustainable. Anyways this kind of answered a question about FSX for me, a bit more Cpu intensive.

  • Yes, there is no doubt that the CPU is the main factor regarding FPS. The overclocking of the Q6600 is key. Currently running at 3.5ghz A huge step up from the base 2.6.

The 8800GTS 640 mb has been pulling it's weight just fine. I have considered upping the card but I have not found a compelling reason to drop more bank on a new GPU. Better to buy sim hardware!

I keep frames locked at 25. They stay right around that. Of course, LevelD into KLAX at dusk it will drop below that. :)

  • I see and am interested in your adult beverage. What is it?

  • Great demo vid! I see a great desk is De rigueur ! BTW---how is Soeren Jensen He ill?
