This video is such a bullshit man, where are you buying this shit, in hotel? for 10 usd you can get like 15 kilos of oranges, or 10 kilos pineapple. harley you are out of whack. Thailand is super cheap, that is why you came here. It is not the weather I presume.
@fenderguitar1975 We buy organic durian bro. Not the cheap shit full of methyl bromide that is on the corner market this time of year.
Thailand is cheap for us for sure but for the locals it aint. Thats the point I make in this vid. To get a 10$ bag of oranges the average Thai would have to work for 2 days in the hot sun digging trenches or in a factory.
there always driven fruitcars/ventors in the streets of Thailand and you pay 10 baht for a small bag of fruit, it isn't expensive. Ofcourse Durian are very expensive now because it is not the season of Durian now. Also Mango in Thailand is now expensive ( Pay around 80 baht a Kilo).
You're on the money with get a job at work at the place fruit at. My job provide free breakfast and lunch at the cafeteria. People freak out when I take whole plate of fruit or greens, when I'm at work.
@durianriders good for you !! I respect your choice to live in Thailand. However, I love my country (Canada). I love winter sports and I love raw food. It's still less expensive than following the SAD diet and you can be successful on raw anywhere if you have a strong mind...Be well...
Not that I don't want to I do but its not as easy as you say honestly and we both work I work from home he is always on a job hunt for something higher paying..we are vegan though and I am embracing eating much more fruit
I agree with you on a lot of things but you are really thinking of how a single person can live ...when you have a family you cannot just take off to another state or country for many reasons...also when your money goes towards your children this makes buying so much fruit difficult especially in my case where my husband will not go fruitarian and does not want my son too either so in addition to the fruit I would have to buy food for the rest of the family as well...
Harely - Question/Statement for you....People who philosophize strongly about life generally come from a privileged position. Hence making it easy to philosophize - I'm just wondering what position ur coming from. You just cashing in your Aussie dollars to live the good life in Thailand, cos that makes ur philosophy easy to implement. I'm asking cos as u said u got to ask!!!I'm Vegan myself +i completely agree with your points....but i dont like people talking from there proverbial ivory towers
@Jonesyweb You can create your life, you are in charge. You don't have to live in a rathole somewhere where the sun don't shine and the fruit tastes like nothing... it seems like it's always the people who are too afraid of changing their own lives or have tried but gave up that then go pick on someone else for succeeding. I don't believe he comes from a privileged background at all.
@Jonesyweb I used to live on the street and steal stuff so I could eat. I created my ivory tower. I didnt steal it and it wasnt handed to me.
My 'good life' for some is a living terror. Having to answer to peoples questions everyday of the year. Having to live on plant foods. Having fruit for dinner. Doing running races and 24hr xc solo races. Its a living hell for some.
If my lifestyle was so easy, how come hardly anyone else is doing it? lol! I make it look easy perhaps but I worked hard.
@durianriders You grew up in Australia mate, you took drugs by choice before you started this whole YouTube thing and if you "were" raised within a home and you chose to leave it's because you couldn't handle the discipline, so subsequently it was your fault for being on the street. I myself grew up having 3 fathers in total til age 22 when i left home, but i worked and rented back in the day, i copped a barrage of mental and physical abuse but supported myself with a job!.
@durianriders You could "easily" walked into any place/agency and registered, got some employment and rented a place. Being homeless when you were able bodied, young and fit in a developed country like Australia is ridiculous, especially when you consider migrants come here with "nothing", learn the language, get a Degree whilst working a full time job and make a life.
That's it. Every day I hate living in London, it's cold, wet, sad, and there's nowhere decent to go jogging or riding, and fruits and vegs are tasteless too. So I'm planning to go back to my town in Italy where I could at least eat real fruits. But the problem is: here I have a flexible job, back in Italy i would most probably have to adapt to a sad office job or similar which I would consider a waste of my life, so I can't make a choice. :'(
@martamariotto HI! I am living in Italy, wasting my life in a sad office job, no availability of organic fruit other than apples (let alone the cost of living altogether), a TON of rednecks! Living in an Italian city is not so different from living in London. The good life would be in south america I guess. But what to do there for a living? Greetings to London!! Melanie
@rawbirbella Hi! Thank you for your reply!! :) Yes, i guess you are right, a tropical area might be the best for this lifestyle, but what to do there, exactly...
But (if you don't mind me asking) whereabout do you live in Italy? If you are living in a city I can understand what you mean, but in the countryside we grow quite a lot in our gardens, and I would eat much of the stuff organic and basically for free...(no bananas or dates though!) But yes, I remember all fruits being very expensive :'(
Just scored a dozen avocados @ $0.64 ea. 20 lbs. of potatoes for $6.99. Also, took home a hot deal on 10 lbs. of sweet potatoes @ $0.28 /lb. While at the store, I couldn't help but notice an advertised special on some corpse product for $7.99 /lb. If you still eat corpse/death products, you're paying for it; both financially and healthwise.
Hey bro. Instead of telling us how to afford fruit, maybe you should\ help them out with their $4.00 a day, cause that's fucking sad. Then again, their diet of rice and cockroaches is still better than S.A.D.
@ZeBeFruity Im not interested in cheap fruit. Im only interested in quality fruit. Saving money isnt my priority. My priority is eating mind blowing food that sends shivers down your spine cos it tastes so good. :)
good one bro, we put it out there to the universe that we MUST find some way to afford more fruit on minimum wage. What did we get? Kicked out of the place we were living! Not exactly what we were looking for, but living in our van will free up $400 a month for FRUIT! lol Dang, should have asked for more INCOME! hahaha
@eagleheartsong They say your body is your temple, so when you treat it well, it doesn't matter where you live, cause you still got a nice temple. Good for you.
When you stop buying expensive coffee meat and diary.. There is plenty of money for fruit. You make it important and you will find the money. How much do we spend on mobile/cell phones, laptops, pay tv and Internet.
Thing for getting cheap fruits is finding right spots to get them. I live in Poland and have my two favorite markets for buying fruits. The prices are there a half, or even an one-third of a supermarket price.
Ive just got back from my weekly banana shopping. The prices were $0.84/kg for bio bananas from ecuador, regular (nonbio) bananas for $0.54/kg, $0.71 for brazilian mangoes, $0,57 for costarica pineapples. They are so low cause everything is ripe.
Much love from the temperate UK. Not quite of the mind to abandon developments here, if anything, contribute to the conversion of eating habits and make the fruit available. It would be easier to move to get the fuller juicier fruit but cities need some crazy folk to make a difference in attitudes too. @Wretchedable staying in a temple in the mountains with 8 inch spiders and 10 inch centipedes mostly cured my phobia of them. When your in towns or cities in Thailand you rarely see them. You really have to get out into the jungle to see them. But I did have a large one (6 inches) in my room once in a house in Laos (in the capital). In eastern Thailand it's much more common to find large black scorpions, but they are still rare.
