That Was The Most offensive thing I've ever seen when I saw the version to see what Kerry jacket was going on about, "It was truly Distastefully offensive".
7 "parts" yet most of them are the same god damn thing and you don't show us any videos beside some dog humping another dog's leg. Are you retarded? Honestly. Why are the final 4 parts the exact same bloody thing?
If only he could see 10 years into the future into the 21st century... Naughtiest Home Videos is *nothing* compared to the rubbish reality junk (*ahem* Big Brother *ahem*) that we saw and see today. Very tame by today's standards.
Overall though with it being a one off he could've let it go. Mind you it wouldn't have got the notoriety if it wasn't pulled and probably wouldn't have got it's encore screening back in August this year.
Though some make it out as though it was going to be a series.
today in english we were learning about media and stuff, we were learning about tv stations and the owners, and the teacher brung up this show during the discussion and told us about its cancelling
i mean, he diddnt say "get that s**t off air", he said, "you might of been familiar with the show that aired a couple of months ago called australias naughtiest home video's show, now that wasn't a new show just made, it actually aired in september 92 and was pulled live off air by kerry packer, he rung up and said "pull it off" because he was very offended by it"
I don't know what all the fuss was about. As far as naked breasts and bums goes you see them on the beach and as for animals mating. You see that in a David Attenborough nature film.
wikipedias not a good source to get information from, it was kerry packer, he was at a dinner watcing this and then he rung up and said "get this S**t off air"
I meant that what Tiswaser said is still correct - the network's owner was Kerry Packer and he did pull the show off the air as he found it offensive.
I read somewhere not too long ago that the current owner of Nine found a full copy of the 90-minute special and is planning to re-air it eventually (without cutting it off after a third of the show airs).
Yeah I heard that on Steve Price's morning show last Thursday. Something that Peter Ford mentioned. It'll be on i a couple of weeks as I understand it.
A told a mate of mine and he made the comment saying that Kerry would be turning in his grave. I wanna see it in full so I can see what all the fuss is about cuz I was only 12 back then and NBN didn't show it as I've since found out
Obviously they say it was a technical problem. But when did the story break that it was KP giving the order? Cuz it would've been all over the press when it happened.
@autismgeek the entire video can be found on Google video. but I warn you,I only needed a few minutes, and I stopped watching. Its nothing but naked people(like a gut holding a barbell up with his dick, people and animals shitting themselves, animals humping other animals in people(I even saw a gorilla's penis),and the host making tasteless jokes(he started off the show with a joke about Rodney King going out for a pizza one night...) its no wonder it got canceled in its first episode. ugh...
I don't think we got any of this in Perth because of the dateline delay. But I remember a message across the bottom of the screen saying it wouldnt be shown.
I remember I was about six when they had all the promos and previews for "Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos"... there was a fair bit of hype about it too....
Interesting story there "gemkilt"... were you the one Packer actually rang and told to "get that shit off the air"?
gemkilt, cause you worked behind the scenes with all these tv shows, approx what % of programs in the "prime time" slots (that were filmed infront of audiences) were broadcast live? If you say that broadcasting live was hell, I cant imagine what cameramen for the cricket and other live sports events go through
I was working at channel nine that nite as a tape operator wen we got an order by fone to take the current show off and go to cheers which was already on a 2nd machine in case sumthing went wrong and we had to go to cheers... Yup I can still remember it lol TAKE THAT FUCKING SHIT OFF NOW!!! Who is to argue with the man who owns the station haha That woz a long time ago :) A part of my career in TV
No I got promoted to on air presentation co-ordinator (I put everything to air) Basically I was in charge of the station broadcast live to air :) Mr Packer was a good boss, he would give us xmas hampers every xmas and these hampers were huge!
Saying take it off and your a tape operator can I assume it was pre recorded? If so you think they knew what the material was. But hey ammusing thought. Just wish I could've seen it. Wonder if NBN took it off air as well?
it was pre-recorded... so was Hey Hey its Saturday. They recorded that on a Friday night and it was put on a 2 hour reel of film and played bak on saturday. Very rarely was it live. Going Live with hey hey was a lot of work and a lot of stuff ups behind the cameras. It was hell and u couldnt stop to think if sumthing went wrong. U just had to deal with it asap! Television is very hard work and stressfull.
Some of you don't remember the 1969 ABC (America) mega-flop Turn-On. Halfway through the broadcast, some stations decided to run alternate programming in its place before the network pulled it after its first (and only) episode.
They seem to make more of a fuss over programs of this nature today, but they don't do a bloody thing about it. As funny (and crude) as this clip was, at least Kerry Packer saw sense to pull the plug (albeit at the wrong moment perhaps)
Well, it depends. What time was this show shown at? If it was supposedly an 'Adults Only' show, I doubt very seriously it would've been on at like 3pm
I Meant "Kerry Packer"!!!!

Calling the network and telling them to get that crap off the air.

"Technical difficulties" meaning "Kerry Packer" in Nine-ese.

@sonicfeet Yep, there's your technical problem right there. Though, if the show was as bad as all that how do you think Mr Packer would react?

@sonicfeet after watching a good few minutes of it, I can see why it needed to be. worst home video show ever.

@TheSlickAndroid Wouldnt it be turn on, it also ran half an episode in 1969.

I agree, by pulling it halfway through, it gained infamy instead of just fadeing into obscurity like it most likely would have had it finished.
